Exactly what I needed!
This is a really useful product – big enough to get the job done but small enough to fit in my small NYC apartment kitchen. A lot of full-sized appliances don’t fit comfortably on my kitchen counter under the cabinets. And space on my counters is like space in my bookshelves—when something comes in, something’s got to go out to make room—so each appliance needs to earn its space. The great thing about this is the base has a small footprint and can easily be tucked into the corner and the two “tops” – either the blender or food processor – can click right in. Swapping then out is very simple: pull up and push down. I keep the blender on the counter most of the time, and the processor in the cabinet until I need it. I was a little concerned that the blender would be too weak for all the smoothies and piña coladas we drink in my home, but it has been great. Food processor made perfect hummus – although you can only make one can at a time (it only holds 3 cups). This line appears to be a more affordable sub-brand for Cuisinart, so don’t expect stainless steel and high-end controls. It’s pretty basic and all plastic, but it is light-weight and compact, which are the key for me. It’s also very simple to use: I never thought it necessary to have 10 speeds on a blender and always struggled with my old large Cuisinart food processor. I’ve only had this a few weeks, so I can’t speak to its longevity, but It seems pretty hearty so far. Definitely a keeper!

2 in 1 Versatility!
This food processor/blender combo from Cuisinart is a fantastic choice for everything you'd like to blend, and almost every chopping task, except if you needed to chop A LOT at once. The base has a solid weight, with rubber feet to prevent any movement during use. I was very happy to discover that the cord disappears into the base for neat storage.I love the square shape of the blender and processor bases. Very easy assembly and solid feel. The blender top fits snugly with a rubber seal to prevent any leakage.I have used a mini chop for years, and this 3 cup capacity one works beautifully. The chopping blade is super sharp, and will make quick work of herbs, garlic, ginger, citrus zest, etc. A real time saver! You could make pesto, dressings, sauces, hummus... you get the idea. In addition, I've never seen a mini chop that also has a slicing/shredding disc like a larger food processor. This attachment is great for creating beautiful salads with loads of veggies, without having to drag out a larger processor, or having to chop everything by hand.Overall, this combo would be a great tool for anyone starting out in the kitchen, or a seasoned home cook with years of experience.

Blender is a poor design.
I used this blender for making smoothies. It has a lot of power without a lot of stability. I felt like it was going to launch itself off the counter. It needs a wider base and more weight to keep it steady. The main problem for me is that the blades are designed to be held in place by a single nut. You aren't supposed to remove the nut or the blades but the nut is not stable. It unscrewed itself and got blended with the pitcher contents. Cuisinart no longer produces or supports this blender and cannot provide parts for it. If you have problems you can only turn to Amazon for help. I cannot give this blender a good rating. It has power. It did the job......for a month. It's just a bad design. Your money is better spent elsewhere.

It's pretty good
This blender/ food processor combo was a gift. Pros: 1.) Packaging is mostly molded lightweight cardboard - so much more environmentally friendly than Styrofoam and a lot of plastic. 2.) Simple design. a.) There’s the attachments for the blender. b.) For the food processor, there’s the chopping attachment and then the stem and blade for slicing and shredding. c.) The controls are either pulse, low, high or off. 3.) It does a decent job of all the basic functions (purees - not quite as fine as I would like, but still OK). 4.) The size of the blender is fine -7 cups. The food processor fits 3 cups - so also handles all but the largest jobs. You could also break things into batches if you needed more space. 5.) Efficient use of allowing the blender and food processor having the same base. So, you might have a day like I did, where you make something that uses the blender, say a roasted garlic and mayonnaise sauce, followed by the food processor, with sliced vegetables… using one machine. 6.) Big plus: Everything (except the base) can be put into the dishwasher compactly - without taking up all the space. 7.) I like the fact that the bowl for the blender and the food processor attachment have a ‘squared’ bottom. This makes it easy for you to take them off the motorized base and take things out while being stable on a counter surface. It also appears to make ice crush faster - if you use the longer cubes that come out of freezer ice maker for your smoothies. It other blenders, that ice gets held up as the bottom gets more narrow. Cons: 1.) Not a lot of written direction. But to be fair, I do think it’s mostly self-explanatory if you’ve had a blender or food processor before. Could be a plus - if you wind up throwing the instructions away anyway - like I typically do after one read. 2.) I don’t think the look of it is a ‘wow’ - it’s more of an ‘OK’ look - but personally I tend towards preferring the look of stainless steel/enamel. The bowls are plastic, as are the base. That makes it lightweight to handle (which could be a plus compared with a typical food processor), but it gives it a ‘less substantial’ look than, say, something made of metal and glass. So, if you’re looking for high end polish, this ain’t it. Overall though, it’s a like.
