Fantastic
I bought this to replace a massive 40+ year-old light-fan-heat unit that was becoming a fire hazard. Because the old unit was a completely different size (and ancient), I knew I wasn’t going to be able to use the retrofit feature or do the installation from the bathroom itself. (However, if you’re buying this expecting to do the full installation roomside, you’ll be disappointed. Only the fan and light can be swapped without attic access, but installing the box requires attic.) The installation was pretty straightforward and as-expected; I won’t go into the nitty-gritty of how awful working in my attic is or the troubles of replacing an ancient fan, but that’s not this fan’s fault. (Should caution, I have construction experience, and doing a first-time installation of this would not be a good job for the average DIYer.) Connection to existing 4” duct was easy. The tabs to place the fan with the correct drywall spacing were a nice touch. The unit only screws into a joist against one side, so I was worried during installation that it would sag and not sit level, but that hasn’t been an issue since the whole thing has been assembled. Installing electrical and fan were a breeze. The clips on the cover were annoying but to be expected. The cover has slight gaps against the drywall but I’m hoping it’ll settle into place over time. The light is super bright and the fan quality is superb - quiet and clears condensation from a large bathroom with ease without making the room feel cold or dry. Overall, this is an incredible fan that I would absolutely buy again, but my one caveat is that if I had bought it thinking I could do the entire installation roomside, I would’ve been disappointed. Update after a year: it’s definitely lost a lot of power (50% or so), so I’ll most likely have to replace the motor soon. Luckily, that process is pretty easy.

Quiet, quiet and bright
This exhaust fan is well built and extremely quiet. I'm not sure why some reviewers have said it was not that quiet? Relatively easy install but rest assured, you may have some minor issues when installing this in place of an existing fan. But take your time and it all comes together. The light is very bright and "white". The exhaust function works so well, that there is little to no steam on the mirror.

Fan is quiet
The fan is quiet. Installation wasn't easy. Probably could have been if the instructions weren't confusing. The light was missing, but customer service was helpful by sending a partial refund, so I ordered a light.

Worlds better then the original in the house
This bath fan was a excellent replacement to an older smaller hampton bay fan we previously had in the house. Though I did have to cut a little more drywall to install in the ceiling, the roomside installation made the process easy as there was no need to crawl around in the attic for the install. The difference in the noise between the two was night and day. The suction is excellent, with the door closed you can actually feel it drawing air from below the door, have very little issues with the kids turning the bathroom into a sauna (as long as they turn the guy on) The light works great as well, we currently only have a vanity light that used to be the only light source in the bathroom so with a darker shower curtain it could be a little dark in the shower, but not anymore this casts ample light from above. On another note I love the fact that the grating for the air is on the sides and not a slotted vent looking down as on the old one you could see up into the fan which looked pretty cheap, so now dont see anything up there but the square and the light. I am very happy with this purchase and would recommend it to anyone that is looking for a quality bath fan with a light that doesn't stand out and does the job.

Replacement Installation
Our bathroom exhaust fan was installed in the ninety’s. Very loud and the light was dull. Installed this fan. We are very happy with the light and the sound of fan, so much better. However what you need to know: to accommodate the 4” exhaust and where the electrical wires enter the unit, we had to cut the drywall about 4 to 5” the length of the box as it would not fit in the existing opening without making it bigger. If replacing a unit, look for a model the the electrical enters the metal box from the top , not the side. You may be able to get it in the opening you have. My husband could do the cutting of the drywall, taping, mudding, and we had to have the paint matched at hardware store. We are very happy with this unit. In new construction a piece of cake.

Great performer
The light is really bright! The fan is very quiet and performs very well. Definitely pulls a lot of air. If you are looking for something that drowns out sound, this is not the fan for you, though.

Excellent quality and illumination
Very nice quality and bright light. I was concerned that such a slit of light would be insufficient...it is a brilliant natural light . Happy with the purchase

Read to install grill cover correctly
This exhaust fan has a clean look with bright light. Sound level is higher than expected for a 1-sone fan. Suction power is not what I expected for 110cfm fan. Nonetheless, it's certainly better than 50cfm fan I had. I replaced two 50cfm fans and am reasonably satisfied. Here are some of my experiences I'd like to share: Complete roomside installation is almost impossible unless it's a new installation with duct and electrical wire already accessible. If this is retrofit installation, then you may still need access to the attic to remove old fan and duct. Once you removed the old fan and duct from the attic, you could install this fan from room-side. 1. Attic- Removed duct, electrical wires and old fan. Make sure all switches atr OFF. Make duct and wires are accessible from the roomside. 2. Roomside- Use the outside case (fan motor removed) as a template, trace the outline and cut out proper opening. You may do this step from the attic while you're there. 3. Attic- Mounted the outer fan housing on the joist as was the old fan using the mounting flange. I used only the mounting flange side to secure the housing. It was secure enough. 4. Roomside- connected the ouside exhaust duct to damper with metal duct tape and secured damper into housing slot with provided screw. 5. Roomside- Connect electrical wires: connect all ground wires(green and bare) together with wire nut. Connect all white(neutral) wires togeter. If you have fan and light switches separate, you should have two hot wires from the existing old wire, one from the fan switch and the other light switch. Connect one black wire from the fan motor receptacle with wire nut and the other black wire to light receptacle. Well, if you happened to connect two black wires swapped, your wall switch function changed-no big deal. Put the wire housing into proper slot and secret with provided screw. 6. Roomside- Insert fan motor into the slot until it snaps in and secure with screw provided. Plug the fan motor connecror into receptacle. 7. Take plastc film off the LED and push into the cover LED opening and plug into receptacle. It plugs in only one way. 8. Now, the most hated part of installing the cover. If you read reviews, there are many negative comments about the spring loaded snap-in cover. Here's the way to do it properly. Reposition the double looped center into the slot so that it stands vertical not side way or in angle. If pops out just push it again into the slot so that it sits in the middle standing up. Now guides the both ends of spring into the one side of fan motor spring slot until catches both ends, then do it on other ends. Just be patient until both sides hanging. Then push the both ends of cover vertically straight until it snaps to the ceiling. That's it. While you are trying to do this, LED may pop out. Again, patience is needed here. You will do this in less than a few minutes rather than some reviewer who did it 30 minutes or maybe never.

Love the light!
I wasn’t intentionally looking for an exhaust fan with a light but I’m so happy I got it! It really makes my bathroom brighter. It’s very quite and completely removes the steam from my 5’x7’ bathroom. Happy with my purchase!

Super quiet
We had it installed on a timer as it’s so quiet that you don’t notice it. We also had it installed so that the light and fan can be turned on separately. Nice, modern looking unit.

Great light, a little noisy
We installed this in our shower room. It is a single enclosed room with just a shower in it. The previous owners had a light in there with no fan and there was water damage on the ceiling. We had previous put in a light/fan combo that was more decorative but found it to be too dark so finding a better light was top on our list. This fan exceeded our expectations for light, it is bright! We're very happy with that. It also does a fantastic job of keeping the room from steaming up, by the end of a shower the room is so moisture free we don't have to leave the fan running. The kids hate it that it's not like a sauna when they step out anymore, but there will never be moisture damage again! Downside would be the fan is louder then we expected, but as long at it does it's job we're willing to overlook that. The other thing we found very annoying was how the cover attached to the fan box. The wires are tricky to get and slide into place and though the cover is up it won't sit straight or tightly to the ceiling. Overall we would buy this again purely for the quality of light and ventilation it provides in the room even with the downsides.

You may need to trim the drywall for it too fit, but that’s super easy!
Works great for the price! Easy to install, happy!
