Not safe for our Goldfish
We came home after 4 days, and our 11-year-old goldfish was curled in a C, barely breathing. He would occasionally move, swimming upside down for a short burst. We put in some real fish flakes, and he was able to eat a few and recovered in about 6 hours. My son then informed us that he had found the fish the same way on our previous trip, fed him real flakes, and that he had recovered as well. That's two data points. I wouldn't recommend these at all. Never had this issue with API or Tetras vacation feeders. We only got these because they shipped overnight from Amazon, and we needed them before a previous trip, but don't intend to use the last unopened one.

Overall, it’s a decent backup solution, but not perfect—best for short absences and lighter feeding needs.

Got the job done
Went on vacation and decided to give this a try for my goldfish. I was worried we would come home and find our poor fish floating but they were swimming around. Will definitely purchase again for our next vacation!
