Why is it so expensive? I think it is available from Lancome.com for $47.

My honest opinion it's worth the money for several reasons. The first, you will see a better coverage using less foundation than you usually use. Using less, you will find one bottle of Lancome foundation lasts longer; equivalent to probably 3 bottles of typical department store foundation. The last reason I believe it's worth the money, is the coverage from Lancome is better than any foundation I have ever used, especially when I use the Lancome primer. Hope you give it a try, I believe you can get a sample so you can see for yourself it's worth it.
