Just depends on how you place it. Cool thing is once it fills up the receptacle/bucket or whatever the water flows into above the hose opening, the water stops flowing in so there is never any spillage. I found once the receptacle/bucket is full, then the humidifier's receptacle takes over until that is full, then machine shuts off.

Expensive but works perfectly with Frigidaire dehumidifiers. Tried cheaper brands and they all leak a bit. This was easy to put on and zero leaks. And the hose length is great as it gives you more leverage to keep your dehumidifier where you want and not right next to drain.

My sump pump is covered and sealed due to radon remediation. Cons: A bit pricey for 12' of hose, but I haven't bought any hoses for years, so may be out of the inflation loop.

Don’t by a cheap no name brand, first one leaked at the hose connection end. Fits perfect, not one drop of leaking water, connects to dehumidifier perfectly and extends to floor drain.

As advertised this product works effectively at draining the dehumidifier. Impressed with the brass fitting and durable washer that makes for easy off and on when flushing and cleaning the drain hose. 👍

Just a tip: the drain hose needs to be lower than the dehumidifier and have a place to drain. I put mine on a cabinet and the hose drains into the guest bathroom sink. Otherwise, skip the hose and empty the water directly from the dehumidifier. If you have an issue with lifting weight, I would recommend using the draining hose.

I installed this about three days before leaving town for two weeks and came back to a mess in my backyard office. The fitting was tightly secured to the drain, but there was a leak where the hose joins the fitting - a manufacturing issue.

My son hooked up my new dehumidifier with this hose so that all the water goes down my basement drain. I have checked it a few times but basically I never have to do anything with my dehumidifier and this hose.

Got this hose mainly so i can use it to flush the hot water tank but will be useful for the dehumidifier too
