This item works great and is the perfect price. I bought one 3 years ago and it only broke because I was careless when moving it around. I am buying my second one and it works great!!!!

His was the year we needed to upgrade our computers, but wanted to keep our legacy monitors-enter this adapter. It works great! Connects our VGA monitor to the DisplayPort on the new computer. Super easy to install, just plug and play. The length works just fine so we don’t have a bunch of extra messy cord. Feels durable and so far so good and had a very comparable price point of similar adapter cords

My situation is that I purchased a new computer and tried to use my existing monitor with a minor problem. My monitor has a DVI port and I tried to use it. It started out occasionally not working with a message about digital incompatibility. That gradually turned into an all the time problem. I decided to deal with the problem by replacing the DP to DVI adapter cable with this cable which is a DP to VGA cable. Problem is gone. This cable solved the problem. Aces - simple solution.

It works great for a small cable.

Husband wants to install a second monitor on my new desktop computer, but the cord he had was from my old computer, which required an adapter. He found this cord on Amazon and it has the proper plug to fit the CPU -- no adapter needed. Plugged it into the 2nd monitor and it started right up. (Now if we could only get the 2 monitors to display 2 different screens ... guess we're going to have to hire a computer geek who makes house calls for that.)

Needed this to hook up a slightly older TV to a newer computer tower. Works great!

This is DP to VGA adapter. Only works one way, DP out of the PC and VGA into the monitor. Previously, we had used these adapters successfully on other Dell models. However, on several new Optiplex 5000 PCs at different locations the display would light up but when the screen was set to sleep, it went blank and stayed black both on the screen and by remote access. User walks away from PC, screen goes to sleep, user can't wake it up. I get called and remotely, the screen is black and the only way out is to reboot. Computer was still running in the background, Initially we assumed it was the PCs because it was a new model from Dell. Hours on the phone with Dell tech support. We replaced the motherboard. Then on site, when we disconnected and reconnected the cable, the screen woke up. We reproduced this error on multiple PCs using both Dell and Samsung monitors including one new PC out of the box in my office. Two of my techs involved with 6 dell techs on phone and on site. Problem was the cable. Our solution was to replace the video out with VGA to HDMI (which meant we had to replace one of the monitors that only had VGA in.) Going forward, we can't use DP to VGA.

Old monitor was VGA, new computer was DP. Needed this and it works perfect. Quick ship!
