MF10 The Double Hook Shepherd Rod, 90", Black

I was a little skeptical about it's 3 piece design, especially after seeing no fasteners held it together. Gravity holds it together. The square steel used in it's construction is hefty and stiff. The finish is very attractive and it looks like it will hold up well. Very pleased. I bought another today.

The one shown initially on the item page shows a one piece unit. The one you will get is a 3 piece unit, as shown in the additional photos. While it appears to be generally well made, the pieces fit together rather sloppily and the hooks tilt and move around. I won't return it, but I do see some welding in my future.

Very sturdy and well built. Securely stays in ground. Easy to assemble (3 pieces) Hooks spaced far enough from center pole so that feeders do not bang against it in a stiff wind. Made to last.

I ordered two of these, and they arrived taped together which pulled off the finish, and only have the pieces boxes. One hook was incomplete so i requested a replacement but it came also incomplete! This time missing the second arm up top. So frustrating!

I like that this is simple but it does not look like the picture; that shows a straight pole; it's not straight. (I have to return this even though it's a hassle) Anyway, it is not straight like the picture and is nowhere near worth the cost. I tried putting it in several different places and they were all showing the bend before I even put a feeder on it....I can't imagine it holds what it claims.You can't see in the picture that it is in 3 pieces. One of the hooks comes off and the top part separates from the bottom. I think that is what makes it look so crooked. Maybe one piece is damaged and bent....but I never even put ONE feeder on this, I simply assembled it and this is how crooked it looks.

This double-hook pole is more than adequate for the two bird feeders we've attached..... If it had three more extensions at the base, rather than one, its stability would be much better. Still, we're pleased with the result [and so are the birds]!

This double-hook post is strong and solid and can support heavy bird feeders. BUT, it has a serious design flaw if you use it for feeding birds. I have now had 2 birds get their leg caught in the small ''V" groove where the two hooks meet. I found one struggling that I was able to release, but its leg was probably injured. The 2nd I didn't discover until it had died, unable to break free. I had to fill in the groove so bird legs can't get caught there.
