I could not be more pleased with this refrigerator. Everything went smooth from fit to finish. The fit was perfect from the Dometic DM2852 to this 12volt RECPRO. And, the install went so smooth - my Sandstorm RV had the 12volt wires already in-place and tapped into the chassis ground which was used for the 110volt connection on the old Dometic. Once connected it fired up and worked flawlessly. My Sandstorm already had a solar panel on the roof and that tied in with the existing 12 volt wiring which was already in place with the Dometic. I've been testing/watching the meter with my 12volt batteries and they are holding up about 2 days without plugging into AC power for the camper. Surprisingly, these batteries are original to my camper in 2018 (6+ years).

We bought a 40 year old Patio Cruiser houseboat at the end of 2019. Enjoyed her and all of her blessed original appliances for the summer of 2020. The old propane fridge was difficult to keep going during the hot summer months and had to refill the propane every couple of months and was impossible to keep even temperatures in the unit. While researching alternatives I found this 12 Volt Fridge. Our houseboat already had a nice100 Amp Hour deep cell battery bank and older solar controller and panels that were in need of replacement. Went ahead and upgraded the panels and solar controller and added this unit. Mind has been blown! This unit is amazing on the water. During Memorial Weekend we fired her up and the Freezer was consistently at 0 degrees after about 3 hours and the fridge (with kids opening and closing all day in 100+ degree weather) was constantly at 40 degrees during the day and would drop down to 36 degrees at night. For me this was big win. We can now make ICE on the boat for drinks and our food and beers stay super cold. Eliminated the need for more ice chests and constant refilling of ice on the longer trips. And there was never one issue even when the temperatures reached 104 degrees this thing kept humming away. Great product for boondoggling.

worked 1 day, then would not cool. Called RecPro customer service, after 1 hour and repeated dialing was told to send 2mail to [email protected] also send pictures did. reply was another picture. we decided to send Refrigerator back. Will not by another RecPro product!!!

This 12V refrigerator looks like it was originally made for our 2004 Laredo. After removal of the original 120V/Propane RV fridge and some very minor changes to the cabinet that housed it, the new 12V fridge fit right in. It cools down quickly (approx. 4 to 6 hours) hooked up to shore power. Tons more space in the new fridge. 2 things to consider in the swap from the old gas fridge to the new12V fridge, you might consider a 3 pole on/off switch to have a master control the new fridge. There is a on/off switch inside the fridge but we thought an on/off switch located on the old plastic vent on the side of the trailer would be more convenient. The 2 thing to consider would be going to 2, 6 volt batteries as opposed to a single 12 volt, especially if you do a lot of dry camping. Our first trip out with the new fridge installed is in 30 days. We'll know for sure then if it was the right choice

I installed the refrigerator connecting the hot wire to a 30 amp fuse behind the refrigerator and wired it to a standard wall plug. Outside the building I have 4 lithium lifePo4 Battle Born batteries connected to each other and get 400 amp hours total. The lithium batteries hold 14 vdc each. I run the battery current through the 12 gage wiring in the wall and through a standard wall outlet. At start up the lithium batteries have 14.4 vdc, in 24 hours the batteries have 13.4 vdc with plenty of power left to burn. I have one RV solar panel connected to the batteries but it’s really only providing a trickle charge. I use a Honda 3000 watt inverter generator to recharge the batteries. The charger is compatible with the lithium batteries and recharged the batteries in a couple of hours. I have not let the batteries deplete to less than 12 vdc to insure battery longevity. The generator uses very little gas consumption and puts very little greenhouse gas emissions into the atmosphere. Other than a couple of dents a scratch during delivery (the delivery driver pointed them out immediately upon arrival) the refrigerator is a perfect solution for off grid application. Oh, and I did have to reset the temperature button from 3 down to 2 because it froze items at the back of the fridge. I’m very happy with this product .

Installed in my rv 2 weeks ago. LOVE it! Far surpasses the prior dometic absorption refrigerator with two more cubic feet of interior space, and NO defrosting every three weeks. Fits the opening perfectly. Comes with two metal bars, top and bottom, to hold it in place. And it's beautiful!

Quality control not up to par, black painted sides had several small scratches and small dent on freezer door. Quality of stainless steel leaves a lot to be desired, seems to be very thin wish we had ordered the more expensive one, didn’t have an on/off switch had to wire one in from the power supply. Previous owner of the camper had replaced the Furrion refrigerator with a Home Depot plug in refrigerator which shows online a price of $5??.?? The quality of a refrigerator half the price far exceeded the quality of the RecPro. The shipping container was not damages so the appears to have been done at the factory.
