Can you hook a sub up to it?

Sub via Main Out. I added Bass Management via a DSP called Anti-Mode 8033. Everything sounds amazing.

Why does the power cord have no ground?

Most consumer electronics including audio gear is "Class II" or double insulated, this class does not require a ground wire for safety. Ground-loop hum can be a big problem with audio, so most gear goes not use the ground wire to minimize a potential source of this.
