Best strobe light I've ever seen!
This light is fantastic for making a cyclist visible. I use one on both the front and back of my bike and always keep them in strobe mode. The lights definitely get the attention of drivers however this light is not bright enough to light up the road or path in front of you in the evening, for that I recommend a different type of light in addition to this model. I have been an avid cyclist for about 20 and this light is the best there's an a cateye light that I had about 10 years ago, but I don't think they make that one anymore. The light easily mounts to your handlebars so if you're going in somewhere that you might think some piece of crap is going to steal something off your bike you can easily take this off. The two batteries that it takes last a very long time... I'm talking weeks. I just went on a bike tour in Europe and I had this light running whenever I was on the bike and I if I recall correctly the two batteries lasted about 5 weeks, so that's about 30 days of actual cycling and I'd say I was cycling about 6 hours on average per day so that's 180 hours or so on 2 AA batteries. That's the same as 7.5 days.Just buy it, it's a light that could literally save your life from some distracted driver going 45 mph and 2 feet past the right white line while he scrolls through his Instagram. This light is your best bet at getting that person's attention.

Very bright and long ranged, can be used as a flashlight!
I have had this for about half a year. It works perfect for my needs when I ride my bike at night. It has three settings, steady light, blinking lights, and off. To turn it off, you have to hold the button, unlike turning it on and switching between steady and blinking which requires a single click. It is very bright and easy to use. With this, I can see very clearly of reflective signs from a block away, possibly two blocks away. Signs like street signs and stop signs, etc. The awesome thing about this is that it can be used as a flashlight as well, as it is bright, slim, and the design of the light makes it convenient to hold and store in your pocket. This is a must have for people that ride their bikes at night or in the dark. I purchased this through Amazon.

nice little light
well i suppose i have been giving a lot of good reviews now that i learned how, and this is no exception. i just think i made some good decisions lately. its an upgrade from my cat eye halogen. its actually brighter and more consistent where my other had a dead center ring. it also uses less batteries and they last longer. i love the way it mounted on the bike with ease and comes off even easier. the batteries can be replaced while its still mounted and everything. i did ride it in light rain, however... i do wish it looked more water resistant than it appears. i would keep it out of a down pour. i suppose it doesnt look like it would take a bullet either but taking into consideration cost/function/weight i think its still a stellar product and would probably only knock it down to 4.7 stars. i still consider that in the high 90% which is still an "A". i dont think 1-5 is enough of an evaluation spread. i will give it a 5 with a small plastic bullet lol... well actually a seal. i think a rubber seal would put me into 100% cuz weight does allow some moderate 'cheap' plastic.

Reasonably bright, a good value
I've used this light in the dark in wooded areas and it gives off enough light that at least I don't feel like I'm riding blind, yet it is not sufficient for me to see all the little leaves and branches on the path. It is very good in flashing mode when in traffic on well-lit streets, as it is very visible and I routinely see the reflection from this light in signs more than a block away. I park my bike in a high traffic and moderate crime area, so I always remove it every time I park, and it is a little bit difficult to reach the clip. Also, I find that the light skews a bit to the side on my handlebar, and there is no way to adjust the left/right angle of the light, only up/down. My brake cable also happens to get right in front of this light in the only space on my handlebar, but it is not a huge issue.

Exactly what I was looking for out of a light at this price point
+ Plenty bright to be seen+ Side visibility+ AA battery, longer life than AAA+ Removable and small enough to tote around easily+ Quick and easy mount that hasn't dipped or loosened on me yet+ Easy controls (1 push to turn on/switch between steady and flashing modes, hold button to turn off - won't go off by accident while riding if you bump it)- Not very bright if you're riding in the dark, especially if you're moving between lit and unlit areas or getting auto headlights in the eyes and having night vision constantly knocked out - look elsewhere (more expensive) if you want something to illuminate your way

Better For Being Seen Than For seeing
This little light is well-made, easy to install, and has good battery life. If most of your night riding is in urban environments augmented by street lights, it'll probably provide enough illumination. Likewise for dawn and dusk riding it does a fine job (especially in strobe mode) of making you visible to oncoming traffic.Having said all of that, however, this light is NOT adequate for serious nighttime riding. It is simply not bright enough for that purpose. Properly aimed, its effective range is probably ten or fifteen feet. That kind of range simply does not provide enough warning of road obstacles vying to make a cyclist go bump in the night.

Great Value on a Great Little Light!
This is a great little light that does exactly what it's supposed to do, light up what's in front of you.I have 6 of these now on 6 different bikes and they have all stood the test of time. They go on easy, mount just about anywhere, and give a decent amount of light. If you're trail riding and need something exceptionally bright, you're probably looking in the wrong place. If you're looking for a great light for around town or the neighborhood to see and be seen well, I don't think you can do any better than this light at this price point.Bottom line, I would and have purchased this light again, not because it wore out but because I have 6 bikes and there is one of these on each of them!

Poor mount quality...
I hate to post a one-star review, I wanted to say this thing is great. However, the quality is poor for this. When I got it, it was very easy to install and had a death grip on my bike. But one day I used the brakes too hard going >10 mph and crashed. I saw it. The light never came in contact with the ground, and when I got back up, I saw that the mount had allowed the light to come off, and it had shattered. I tried putting it back together as best as I could, but it was too damaged. I knew I would not be able to return this and get a refund, even though it was still in the 30-day amazon warranty. So I pitched it. Now, while working, the light was great, and was very bright for being able to last up to 320 hours. If it wasn't for the super poor quality, I would recommend it, but I'm sorry Cateye. I would buy it again if I knew it wouldn't fall to pieces at sudden stops.
