I have several sturdy 1.5" leather belts that I have used for EDC for years. I generally use the same belts even when I am not carrying unless it's a dressy affair. They have served me well,,, as far as I knew... I recently procured a large caliber revolver to carry when hiking in the mountains. Since I only go when its cold it wouldn't be much of a problem to conceal wearing cold weather gear. And I was looking for something that would pack a little more punch than my EDC choices, without carrying a rifle. I got a holster for it and strapped it to the heaviest EDC belt I had just carried it for a day while working on my private property to see how it felt. After a couple of hours I new it was going to be a miserable day. I was already doubting I would use my new firearm for hiking. I could already see it relegated to nightstand duty, and thinking about the noise and muzzle flash should I ever have to use it in a home protection situation... After a couple of days I had reasoned that maybe I could find better gear to support the extra weight and bulk of a firearm, which I really like and want to use for more than nightstand duty. I started looking at shoulder holsters and different arrangements of holsters and straps, none of which seemed like they would be easy to put off and on, or provide easy access to the firearm if needed in a hurry. Besides I like to keep things as simple as possible. I read a lot of articles about a lot holsters that were supposed to be the best for carrying all this weight and bulk in the safest and most comfortable manner. Then I came across an article about belts for EDC, hunting, and professional duty. It pointed out the shortcomings and issues with belts that were not designed for kind of weight or duty that would be encountered, like when hiking and carrying a heavy weapon for hours or days at a time. It pointed out what to look for when buying a belt for EDC, and it's more than just being described or labeled for EDC. After much more reading and research I decided to try the Nexbelt EDC Titan Nylon Gun Tactical Ratchet Belt for Concealed Carry (Black). I wanted a rigid belt that wasn't going to add anymore weight than needed to an already heavy rig. I also liked the idea of the ratchet style adjustment that provides just the right amount of tension. I got the belt yesterday afternoon and followed the directions for cutting and installing the buckle. I left a little more length than recommended because sometimes I carry IWB and that can use up a little extra length. I can always take more off later if I need to. This morning I put on a pair of jeans with my new belt, holster and the firearm that had been miserable to carry the last time I took it out. It felt really good right from the start. I carried it for several hours while raking, shoveling, bending, carrying and stacking. I hardly knew it was there except when my arm brushed it, as it sticks out a bit more than my normal EDC. Everything was the same as the last time I carried it. Same circumstances, similar work, and the same holster. The difference was night and day. It actually makes the rig feel much lighter. I had to go out this afternoon so I attached my normal EDC and holster to it and again, what a difference. I have always been comfortable carrying my EDC on the belts I had already, but the difference was clear. I thought I was comfortable, but was tolerating a little movement doing regular activities, and even some discomfort at the end of long days. This belt is more rigid, more adjustable, and lighter weight than the belts I have been using, but it manages the weight much better. I intend to wear this belt every day for a while. After that I will buy a couple of more. One of their dress belts and one of their other models. Every one is different, and I won't presume to tell anyone why they should buy this belt. But if your not totally comfortable with your rig at the end of the day it is an inexpensive upgrade over some belts that are 2 or 3 times the cost. If it makes half the difference to you that is did for it's well worth it. I'm glad I bought this belt and I'm looking forward to being able to hike with my new firearm next month!

I have been to many pistol classes and one thing I learned that nobody discusses is belt quality absolutely matters. You want some thing sturdy but for most jeans or trousers you cannot use a police/military tactical belt. This works insanely well. Holds my compact handgun and holster in place securely. And its a good belt even without gear attached to it. Locking-ratchet mechanism works great and even after years of constant use it shows no signs of failing. I highly recommend it for handgun owners or really anyone who needs a convenient and solid belt.

These belts are great for many reasons and more than just for EDC needs. I'm a bigger guy (6'1" and 275+) and its tough to find a belt that doesn't let the trousers sag in the back and none of us want to be on the receiving or giving end of an eye full of crack. This Nexbelt is rigid enough to hold your EDC gear and the back of your pants snug to your waist. No more drafty, peek-a-boo crack or saggy, floppy holsters. Nexbelt's ratcheting design makes it easy to get the exact fit and tension you need for walking around and just as easy to quickly release some tension when at the desk or behind the wheel. Unlike so many other EDC belt options out there Nexbelt is very similar in dimensions to a traditional belt. I've been wearing my Nexbelt for over 3 years. Still almost good as new. A few chips on the buckle's paint and the belt has molded to my shape a little but still just as rigid and holds everything (EDC and pants) up where they belong. Gave my son one for Christmas a few years ago but he doesn't get as much mileage out of his. He works 6 days a week road side service for commercial trucks in all seasons and weather and furthermore is an even bigger boy than me. He gets about 6 months on a belt before the rigid core begins to break down, so he goes 6-9 months before retiring a belt and replacing it with another just like it. I would recommend the Nexbelt to anyone needing to hold their pants up and even more so if they have some EDC gear to support on their waist.

I have experimented with many different belts as I have changed sizes over time. I am really happy with this belt. The ability to EASILY make very small adjustments and staying "locked" at the selected setting is what differentiates this from many others for me. Based on my personal experience: LEARN how to undo the buckle _before_ you have to do it in a hurry!' And now, a bit more than two years later - still great belts - I now have three but: - the inner (I assume synthetic) material that provides torsional stiffness has cracked/broken in more than one location through hard use on my part - belts still work great - the clamp and screw termination method on one of the three has given me some problems - screws have worked their way out and caused two "wardrobe failures" which are awkward. Turns out that the hex flat head counter bore is not a standard size/depth so they are hard to replace..... The company sent me a couple of replacement screws (free) a while back which was excellent. Careful inspection of the buckle suggests that the "slot" that the belt end goes into has spread a bit.....

these are great belts but pricey and I had a screw that is very hard to replace fall out of one buckle (I have 3 of these belts). I tried a cheaper alternative but it was just too stiff. While I carry most of the time, I wear these belts even when I'm not carrying.

I am belt junkie. I’ve bought every belt you can imagine. I the last 3 months I’ve bought a blue alpha edc belt/ area gear aegis belt/ and spec ops the riggers belt. They’ve all been less than ideal for my uses. The aegis belt went to a plastic buckle that looks like crap very quickly. The spec ops the is 1.75 inch and is not conducive to most holsters and has the added annoyance of rubbing my skin over the pants line. The blue alpha belts Velcro didn’t last 6 months before losing tension. For context I iwb and or owb carry daily with a mag carrier so a good belt is important to me. I also need a belt that can quickly be adjusted for sitting vs standing as I have a gut. This need has led me to giving up on leather traditional buckle belts long ago. I’ve avoided buying this one for awhile because it seemed gimmicky and the brand (mentioned above) have done the job well enough. I finally broke down and ordered this one and just got it setup. I typically avoid reviewing things before I’ve ran them for a few months but in this case I’m gonna break that rule because I can tell immediately this is going to be the one! First of all it comes it a nice plastic case with instructions and a really cool bracelet to hold the belt together. This belt comes nicer packaged than some that are twice the cost. The material itself is from yet flexible. For comparisons the soe and blue alpha belts are not firm at all and while the aegis is duty belt setup firm it is stiff uncomfortable and not flexible. This belt bridges the gap perfectly. The mechanism in this belt is much more intuitive for adjustment than any of the others which all required loud Velcro adjustment. Every been in a quiet diner after eating and loosened a tactical belt? The only thing that remains to be seen is how it holds up, but based on my experience and looking at the quality of materials I suspect it’s gonna be just fine. Either way I’m so pleased with the design and construction that even if it only last a year I’ll have gotten my moneys worth. I hope this review saves some of you the trouble of going through multiple belts like I have to get the right one for the right job the first time!

This is my everyday go to belt. Precision fit thanks to the ratchet adjustment action. Easy sizing and sturdy construction. My favorite feature is the belt holds the rigidity all the time so you can actually run it slightly loose and your pants will still stay up as the belt rests on your body. Much more comfortable after a big meal.

I’m in Ontario, I can say I’ve had many duty belts over the years, inner belts, and all that crap. I wanted something simple to hold my baton and maybe a cuff pouch. As most of my gear is on my vest. This product is amazing, holds its place, and it’s comfortable I wish I found this years ago. Highly recommend it

This belt didn't even last a year before the plastic ratchet & stitching began to fall apart. Please see photos. Durability = zero stars

No good. Polymer insert broke after a couple months of use and won't hold holster properly anymore. Nextbelt does not reply to warranty inquiries. Pick a different option
