Catstages Nina Ottosson Rainy Day Puzzle & Play Cat Toy Treat Puzzle, 14"

Our cat had never had a feeding puzzle before, so we bought an easier Catstages Puzzle and Play treat puzzle to start her on. Shes pretty moody and always acts like she’s starving! Our vet suggested puzzle feeders so I decided to give these a try. They definitely did not disappoint! She figured out the first one on ‘easy’ very quickly and has been eating on the ‘difficult’ mode for a couple weeks. We introduced this puzzle for a more challenging option and she loves it! It makes her think, slows down her eating, and is definitely well built and safe to just leave out for her to come back and eat and play/search for food as she pleases! Definitely worth every penny!

My cat Elton is a very intelligent boy. My super smart boy gets into trouble a lot...he needs a challenge. , This advance level has extra ways to add steps to get the treat! 2 days and I'm already putting treats in the moving cup. He has to move the leaf... then move the cup over the little bowl .. then move it out of the way to get the treat. . He's figured it out the second time around lol . But he absolutely loves it! It's part of our routine now! I say OK Elton and do you want to play with your puzzle? I put it down and he comes running!! he's a fun cat! He's my baby boy!! . It's suitable for dogs too! My corgi mix Jackie loves it! That little food hound and figured it out pretty fast too lol . I think it's a great value for the money it's very durable it's stable super engaging and it's really not that noisy the only thing is it slides around the floor a little bit so I would put it on carpet or a matter or something if you don't have carpet. That's what I do. I put it on a little mat I have three cats and a dog so I'm going to be buying more so I could have them parts of the house so each cat can play at the same time. And I'll give my Jackie corgi mix special doggie play time as well Lol My little cat Tabitha is a smart little girl she was so proud of herself when she figured it out the first time it was so cute!! she got a treat... , then she walked around meowing with her tail up like I found it I found a treat!!!! lol within the next day or two I will edit this review and put the toy itself with Elton figuring it out but here's the first puzzle toy I ever got him and he figured it out and five minutes not even lol I showed him once and he nailed it, which prompted me to find an actual puzzle toy.

A nice gift for my cat's birthday, and she immediately figured out how to get treats from the leaves. Then I tried to put the treats in the red sliders. My cat is too smart for it to be challenging. After she figured out the treat ball I wanted something more challenging for her. No challenge at all. She does like it, though. It seems sturdy, but one of the leaves is too tight and difficult for me to move. The weight of it makes it harder to slide around on the carpet, which is good. I would say the price reflects the quality of the product, but felt a bit pricy because of the lack of challenging play.

My female kitten immediately took to it after I filled it with treats for the first time and figured out how to open or slide the moving parts to get at them. She had no trouble moving the cups and raindrops, which slide and turn easily (but not so easily that it doesn't take them any effort). It is solidly built and has some heft to it, so it shouldn't be prone to sliding around on the floor or table. It also looks pleasing to my eyes, although my opinion on it doesn't matter. All in all, I'm very happy with it.

Decided to give this a try after my 3 year old liked the puzzle mice, and he absolutely loves it! He’s so smart he got all the treats from behind the leaves and I had to raise the difficulty. I tried wet food, but the dry treats worked better. It also really depends on the cat. My other cat just laid on it.

I'd give it 3.5 stars if able. I love the design (this is my second of the same puzzle) but this one was not put together as well as the first. A couple of the compartment covers are almost too tight for me to move, much less my small cat. Does not sit level, either. I think someone should have caught the issue before it was packaged.

I got the big one with the spin-y thing for my orange boy because Jackson Galaxy said different cats have different 'play styles' for mental stimulation. My Turkish Van LOVES her fishing poles, and we play all the time, but I've felt bad for years because my orange boy doesn't care about that, and I feel like he just doesn't get enough play time. They make jokes about orange cats sharing one collective brain cell; well, my orange boy IS smart- he figured out the spin-y thing in 2 days, and sometimes sleeps with his paw around this thing. He LOVES his puzzle feeder and screams at me to fill it for him. He's a serious hunter, loves cuddles with mommy, and now has his favorite puzzle feeder. Win.

When you have to present on a business call, and your cat doesn't comprehend that she needs to leave you alone and not paw at you, meowing, for fifteen minutes straight because she's going to absolutely, positively die of starvation if she doesn't immediately get food, this is a great solution to have ready... Looks and functions exactly as described. Our little girl is a 15 lb, 21" long cat who's currently taking prednisolone, which makes her (or anyone, humans included) feel hungry all the time. She usually is fine with 3 timed meals plus a snack, but with the prednisolone, she's vocally and physically asking for food ever few hours. This toy has been a godsend. We have her on a novel protein diet with high protein (30%) kibble that keeps her fuller longer, and if you put 2-3 kibble in each green leaf cup, and 2-3 in each red lady bug cup, you'll be able to serve up a puzzle that will occupy them for up to 15 minutes, and make them eat slowly enough they will feel satisfied for a few hours at least. We also have been feeding her her dinner completely in the puzzle some days when she's especially voracious, and there's enough room easily in the cups to hold a full ounce of kibble, probably you could fit 2 oz. if needed. (8 oz. = 1 cup of kibble, and we feed her 4 oz. per day, divided into 3 meals + 1 oz. we use as 'treats' / snacks throughout the day, which is ~200 calories with her Blue Buffalo and Natural Instinct Venison and Alligator novel protein kibble). Cats use their sense of smell more than eyesight that close up, I guess, so we did notice after while she has trouble telling if there's still food in the ladybug/red cups, because the scent of food lingers in them and it's not easy for her to see inside, but she doesn't seem to get frustrated, and when she hears us take the puzzle out of the closet she knows it's snack time! The only negative is that it will slide around on a wood floor or kitchen floor, so you may need to put it on a rug/carpet if it keeps moving around while your cat is eating from it. One note: small kibble can become wedged inside the frame of the puzzle. I've not tried separating the components to clean it out - I usually just start shaking it over the trashcan in different directions, and the kibble comes out. Larger kibble won't have this issue - it's mainly the Natural Instinct one that gets stuck as it's smaller and flatter than Purina HY Rx and Blue Buffalo. But not a dealbreaker by any means! Really cute, and works great. Very durable. Highly recommended.

Comprei para o meu gato que é obeso e está fazendo dieta. Achei muito bom, ele fica entretido tentando tirar a ração dos compartimentos e isso diminui a sua ansiedade. Ele está comendo mais devagar. Valeu a compra!

This puzzle board is officially my cat's favorite thing in the house. It keeps them engaged, works their brain, and slows down their treat eating perfectly. It’s durable, doesn't slide around easily, and provides tons of fun. 5 stars!

My 5 month old Maine coon loves it. It’s good quality: sturdy, to hold him standing all over it (right now he is 4kg) : pieces are easy to move so he can get the reward for his efforts but still makes him work for it. It’s been a good way to introduce him to new places with the distraction of a treat, that lasts a bit longer than giving them to him by hand.
