These are amazing. I go to a lot of shows and what not and wearing these allows me to mostly hear conversations but tone down the excess volume from performers that usually leaves my ears and head ringing. They’re definitely not noise cancelling, just softens the blow and that’s exactly what I needed. Plus the small carrying case is super useful and attaches to my keys!

Great ear plugs!! Used at Brit Floyd concert, decibels were 97!! They worked great still heard music great, we used the medium silver. In the past our ears would be ringing on the way home and the next day, no ringing at all!!! Great buy with case to hold!!!

Overall, the sound profile is quite good. There's some muffling on the low end of speech but not too bad. I will warn, however, that the seating depth to get an appropriate seal is quite deep in my experience. I normally wear a Small eartip in all of my IEMs and these seat quite a bit further to achieve a good seal. My solution was to take a small bit of silk, unwaxed floss and tie it around the base of the filter at the seam where it's inserted to the silicone tip. I leave just enough length to wrap over the shell of my ear, just like you would with an IEM. It's unobtrusive and allows for the plugs to be gently removed and bundles up into the storage cannister just right. Update: Went to a metal concert (Sevendust, Disturbed, Three Days Grace). We were up at the corner of stage left, right under the PAs. I did wind up switching to the 27Db filter for a bit more comfort but they performed AMAZINGLY. I already have tinnitus in my right ear and it didn't aggravate it. No sign of tinnitus in my left ear. Perfect clarity of the music. I actually perceived better response for the drums with the gold/27Db filters. Highly recommend.

I've been using Alpine MusicSafe ear plugs for many years. They're great for concerts as well as loud bars and restaurants. They take the edge off in noisy environments and allow me to hear better. I'm a musician and perform with them as well. I've used several variations like the party plugs, which are also quite good, just not adjustable. These are the second generation of MusicSafe ear plugs and have the following differences: (1) Silver and Gold filters instead of white, silver and gold (I use silver unless going to a super loud concert) (2) The filters now have a plastic sheath which, I presume, makes them fit more snugly into the ear plugs. I suspect this was done to make it possible to pull the earplugs out by grabbing the ends of the filters, something that was not possible with the first generation. (3) The ear plugs themselves don't stick out quite as much, closely matching the profile of the party plugs. This is nice as I used to snip some of the end off of the first generation ear plugs because they stuck out so much. My guess as to why the first generation stuck out so much was to make them easier to remove, but since the filters stick in more tightly now I think this is less of an issue. (4) The ear plugs come with the same cylindrical carrying case (space for the other filters in the little bottom compartment), but they do not come with the insertion tool. This is possibly because the new filters make insertion easier, or perhaps because the added girth from the new filters makes it more difficult to cram the earplugs plus insertion tool into the case. Either way, I really like the insertion tool and will keep mine from the previous generation. I also think the party plugs have a superior case, so try getting a pair of each.

I needed these because I attend many concerts. Because the volume can vary tremendously show to show, these are perfect because the noise reduction is changeable by the level of volume control needed.

This set is not too big or small, it may be a little tricky to get it seated in my ears just right but once it is, I really appreciate the tonal shaping of the gold filters. It comes with a nice carry case to put on your car keys and the high end isn’t completely gone, so nice for a musician!

These earplugs work okay, but the case is so flimsy! I set them up with the 19dB silver filters and put the gold filters in the bottom part of the case just in case things were louder than expected. When I got home, that bottom compartment was nowhere to be found! It unscrewed at some point during the night, disappearing into the ether along with half of the product I paid for!!! The earplugs feel nice and the 19dB filters do work decently, but I guess I'll never be able to test out the 22dB filters. Unacceptable corner cutting. I'm so annoyed.

I love the earplugs. this was my 2nd set. the issue i have is with the container they are in. You think cool easy attach to my keys. Right? sure it attaches but the container comes unscrewed way too easy. i have lost the bottom that holds the other set of filters. and more then once the top has come unscrewed while i was at work (auto shop) and the earplugs have been rolling on the floor. so for durability I say spend the extra few dollars and get the zip up case instead.

After damaging my hearing at gigs in the past, I'm increasingly cautious protecting what I have left. I've worn the free foam plugs you find at venues, but I find they're too small for me and muffle the sound. Bought these to see Blood Incantations. They stayed in my ears properly and were really comfortable. More importantly, I could still hear the band playing really clearly. It sounded like a different mix, but didn't have the dull, muffled treble you'd get from foam plugs. Have used them lots since, either to keep focus at work or mowing the lawn. Great plugs.
