Very nice! Accurate to +/-0.001 inches. Precise clamping with the thumb wheel. Fractions work well & it has a nice padded case with easy operation. Sweet value for the 0-6” model. Easy to read display & the glass measurement system it uses will be more accurate than similar Harbor Freight options. At $20 it’s a Very Useful item for any toolbox!

First off, I like the bright red case. So many products today go for the "cool" look of black. But try finding a black case in a dark drawer or toolbox. Next, I noticed this caliper came with two batteries; but wait, there's more! The caliper has a battery installed, so those were two spare batteries. That's a nice touch. Next - This caliper is built sturdily. I noticed as soon as I lifted it from the case, as it's pretty hefty. All the main parts are thick stainless steel. The edges of each piece are crisp, and there's no light coming from between the jaws when closed. This tool is accurately machined and feels good in the hand. I can find no problems with accuracy at all. I don't have any precision standards to measure against, though, so I can't verify. But I do know that if I zero the caliper when the jaws are shut, opening and closing the jaws multiple times, the readout always returns to 0.000 when closed. I wanted a fractional readout because I will be primarily using this for hobby blacksmithing and woodworking. As such, I don't need the 1/128" precision. It would be nice if I could have an option to reduce that all the way to 1/32 or even 1/16. But I can't knock this caliper for that. I can easily get to the desired precision in my head. One last thing - The first caliper I received developed a problem in two days. The LCD readout went very dim and the zero and mm/in/fraction buttons were intermittent. I tried one of the spare batteries, but that didn't help. So I contacted the seller on a Friday and received the replacement tool the following Monday. This new one has been working for four days now. Their customer support is extremely responsive and supportive. I won't knock down any stars for what is likely a rare problem (based on other reviews).

* The last caliper I purchased in this price range, was quickly thrown in the garbage. I currently use the extremely fine German-made Mahr for general design.and precise measurement. However, I needed a less expensive caliper to keep in my drill bit bag. Upon receiving and using the VINCA, I was immediately pleased as it is head and shoulders above other sub-$50 models. Most inexpensive Chinese calipers feel, look, and handle like the junk. They exude no confidence whatsoever! The VINCA does not suffer from these shortcomings. A non-machinist or non-technical user should not need anything better. PROS: 1. Plastic case is OK (but it should have better hinges); 2. Auto-on when the slide is move is nice; readout zeros reliably; 3. Fractional readout option is highly useful; 4. High precision (but accuracy not certified for calipers at this price point) 5. Provided with one battery installed, plus two spares (at least mine did); 6. Great feel, no play or slop; mechanism fluid but not quite glassy smooth. CONS*: 1. No back-lit display; 2. Unit indicators (mm/in/F) far far too small. * Still, I'm awarding 5-stars for overall value! Safely purchasing Mitutoyo calipers is a problem due to the number of Chinese counterfeits. Another problem with Mitutoyo is that the fragile battery compartment lid breaks easily. This leaves only high-end Starrett (top), Brown & Sharpe (top), and Mahr (mid), all of which cost much more than VINCA, and none of which should be risked in a shop environment! Unlike the GREAT America of the past, the country has been utterly destroyed by a complete lack of restriction and regulation of foreign parts and products. This for the profit of the human-less Internet super-monopolies that control Washington, and which own you in ways they you cannot fathom! And, of course, because of the Washington sellouts, America has lost all design and manufacturing infrastructure, and currently produces absolutely nothing !!!

I just needed a cheap-o to keep in the toolbox. It's pretty accurate. The display is absolutely obnoxious beyond belief because the tenths are full-size, but the hundredths, thousandths, and ten-thousandths are all smaller digits. It's very distracting that one of the numbers on the right of the decimal is large and leads to some annoyance until you get used to it. On the plus side, it does read ten-thousandths. The other big gripe is that it turns on just by using it. You don't need to push the power button to turn it on... but it's SUPER ridiculously sensitive, so if you keep it in a toolbox with other tools, it's always turning on and bleeding the battery down for no reason. Won't be an issue if you just leave it in the case and store it until you need it. It's not high enough quality to be a primary tool (I use my B+S's and Mitutoyo's for that), and the sensitivity in always being on if you even sneeze in its general direction kind of make it a poor choice for a beater too. It does feel good in the hand though, which is important. It's good for the money over all. Not too much to be disappointed over. The display is really the biggest bother though. It takes getting used to and throws you off pretty easily by sort of tricking your brain into thinking the ten-thousandths are the thousandths until you get REALLY used to it if you switch back and forth between calipers. It's a bigger deal than it seems, actually. Oh, the fractional measurement is kinda nice to have too. I've never owned a set of calipers with the fractional readout. It's actually pretty handy on occasion!

Overall I feel these are very nicely made for the price, way better then others in this price class, they seem to be very accurate for what I need them for which is DIY type projects where many times I may have to send some more precise dimensions to a machine shop these fit the bill perfectly. They are pretty smooth too there are no burs or grit when you get them as seen in cheaper calipers this makes them quite nice to use. They zero out perfectly every time the jaws are closed and retain the last measurement the jaws were opened to so they do not get confused and do not need to be set to zero every time you use them. but it is good practice to make sure you wipe the jaws and close them fully to make sure they are at zero as with any caliper before you make your measurement. If build quality fit & finish are also important then I would give these a try they do not feel cheep in any way and have a sold feel while using them. The only problem I encountered was my first one had a very slight defect, not a big deal but I am a bit of a perfectionist so I let them know, and too my surprise they offered to replace them ASAP. It is nice to know that they stand behind their product like this so if you do have a problem they are there to help. So I can tell you that customer service at Clockwise is fantastic, they respond quickly and they def care about their customers and the products they make If you were thinking of buying a caliper that is well made accurate and reasonably priced you should try these out! I do not think you will be disappointed.

I ordered this micrometer for work. When it arrived, it would not power on. Vinca includes the battery in the tool, plus 2 spares (Very Nice !) Neither of the extra batteries would power it up either. Sent the company a message and didn't bother checking for a response for a day or so. Turns out a gentleman named Vick had replied within the hour. Very responsive and unexpected. I explained the situation, and without hesitation offered to send me a new one. I took him up on this, told me it would be there within 2 days and it was. New one work great. There is a little variance in each reading, but well within spec. The case it comes in holds the tool solidly and closes with two latches. Its not falling out and breaking or getting smashed in my bag. The display is very easy to read and I can switch between units easily. The zero button works instantly and the slide is smooth. I have what I thought was a nicer one from a big box store, and wanted a less expensive one for work. Turns out this one performs just as well for over $120 cheaper. Much impressed. I am also just as impressed of the fact that after Vick told me it would arrive, he sent another email 2 days later asking if it did infact arrive and if I was satisfied. For a small company selling stuff online, that is pretty awesome. And it was not an automated message. I will continue to do business with this business and encourage others to do the same. They obviously stand by their product and are committed to making sure buyers are satisfied. I need a set of calipers, and will be buying those soon !

I have been using this a lot for close to a year now, and in all that time I have not found a single drawback with it. I mean SERIOUSLY - I even thought of the color of the plastic case, but it is a nice bright red, with substantial hinges and they work well. The well for the tool is even lined with foam inside. The batteries? Well there are two inside the box and one in the caliper when it came. As long as you remember to turn it off, or let the auto off do it's job, then I have not had to change the original battery in almost a year now. The caliper itself is a stainless steel, but it did become slightly magnetic when measuring the dimensions of an N52 super magnet. Even that magnet failed to interfere with the electronics and it behaved perfectly, keeping accurate readings throughout. I know some reviews say that it needs to keep being zeroed a lot. I was afraid of that, but I have had no such problems at all with mine. Even viciously sliding the scale in and out many times, it went back to 0.0000 inch perfectly. I did occasionally get an offset of perhaps 0.0005", but that proved to be a speck of dirt on the measuring faces every time. Perhaps that was the cause of the problems some were having? Just wipe the measuring surfaces with a clean, soft cloth and the problem was solved for me. Even so, we are talking about 0.0005" (1/2000"). It is "only" rated for an accuracy of +/- 0.001" (1/1000"), so that last digit might show a 0 or a 5 and still be well within it's rated accuracy. This is seriously good for a digital caliper. For me what was a real suprise was just how useful being able to measure in fractions of an inch really is. It reads out in 1/128", but automatically cancels down to the lowest common denominator. So it would not say 2/128", but 1/64" instead. This is astonishingly useful for quick "go" / "no go" measurements, and also it does away with the need for tables to know if that drill with the size missing, is 7/64" or not? Anything with a fractional inch measurement can be read directly, instead of looking up the decimal/fractional tables. It uses an LR44 (alkaline 1.5V) battery, which are also commonly sold as AG13, L1154. LR1154, or 157 batteries. The slightly more expensive Silver Oxide versions though might be better in the long run, as their voltage is more stable during the lifetime of the battery. Silver oxide equivalents are SR44, SR44SW, 303 and 357. Reading the reviews for this was disappointing. Certainly Vinca seem to read all the comments and replace faulty ones, but they also listen and update the design. Mine having an auto off feature is a good example, as earlier ones apparently did not have this. My auto off seems to put it into very deep suspended animation, as moving the scale does not wake it up, and even though I have left it in auto off for months, there is no sign of the original battery that was in it having run down. There seems to be a lot of confusion in the reviews about what digital calipers are, and what they do. That seems to be why a lot of people have only given four stars or less. I think a lot of mentions of them being "sharp", might be that they do not know that the beaks of the jaws need to be that sharp in order to measure accurately in confined spaces - such as the minor diameter of a thread. Also to reduce the parallax errors with some types of measurements. The points are sharp, so that they can be used to scribe a mark onto things at the precise distance you have set them to. Them not feeling "very good quality" might be as occasional reviewers have noticed, that the wheel is "wobbly". This is intentional, as it is meant to better control how tight you clamp them onto the workpiece - Much like the friction clutch you get on micrometers. Engineers know that with measurements this accurate, how tight you make it on the workpiece, can affect the reading. So the whole point of using the "wobbly wheel" is to try to standardise the amount of force that is used to close the jaws and so improve accuracy that way. Digital calipers of this quality ARE accurate scientific tools. Trying to check their accuracy with rulers as some have claimed to do, is not logical - The calipers would be telling you your ruler was inaccurate. Also, I doubt few people could judge by eye that the edge of the beak was in the middle of a rulers' marking to 1/2000". There should be NO free play in the depth gauge, or anywhere for that matter. When held to the light, the edges of the jaws should appear to meet perfectly with no light. The same should be true for the beak on the other side, used for measuring internal diameters. Mine were perfect out of the box in these respects. In fact, mine are broadly equivalent to my $200 6" Mitutoyo digital calipers - Which don't have fractional inches, as they are older. They are not quite as smooth as the Mitutoyo, but after the use they have had, they are not far off being that smooth now. Where there might be a difference is in (fairly esoteric things for most users) things like the co-efficient of expansion for the stainless steel they are made from? In warmer weather, the metal expands and affects their accuracy. This is why micrometers are held in the crook of one finger, to minimise heat transfer, as these are typically an order of magnitude more accurate than calipers. Most micrometers measure to 1/10,000", but only for a 2" diameter. I find it incredible that digital calipers can maintain 1/10 of that accuracy, but to much greater widths. Now I do know that temperature co-eff for my Mitutoyo, but I could not find one for the Vinca (only that the accuracy was taken at the standard 20 degrees centigrade.) I wonder if Vinca could respond with an actual figure, or is it not known / varies from batch to batch?

I have recently gotten into 3D printing and model design using FreeCAD. I own multiple calipers (one digital by my wood lathe and one Mitutoyo dial caliper at my reloading bench) but wanted a cheap but decent quality digital caliper to keep at workstation for measuring parts that I am designing. After some research, I chose this VINCA. I have used professional Mitutoyo and Starrett calipers as well as some other low-cost calipers. Most low-cost calipers are a total letdown. The VINCA, while not Mitutoyo quality, are exceptionally good quality for the price. The quality was so good that I purchased a second caliper to keep next to my 3D printer which is in the basement. The important features for me: high quality, metric (I do all 3D modeling in mm units), imperial (I do PCB design in thousandths of an inch), repeatable measurement (close the jaws, zero it, take it full scale, close the jaws and it will still read 0). Other important features that others may appreciate: it has a fractional inch mode which is useful for woodworking, it comes with 3 batteries (one is installed, and 2 extras) I will point out one thing about them that may be positive or negative, depending upon your preference. They do turn on if you move the jaws, rather than just using the ON button. This is not a big issue for me, but it was somewhat of a surprise the first time I bumped it and it turned on.

A good quality caliper. Get this for general use. Not a calibrated tool but it will get the job done and looks like it will last. Build quality looks very good.
