I removed my dirty worn carpet and went with bare wood, but our cats were having a hard time with it. I got these and the cats are happy and it's more pleasant for us. These were really easy to install...just the right amount of adhesion to let me reposition them but still have them stay. They came folded in half and didn't lie completely flat at first, so I put weights on for the first night and now they're fine.

I bought these stair pads for two main reasons:1) to make the stairs less slippery for my elderly dog2) To make the stairs less slippery and catch the dirt coming from the lower level floor to the main level of the houseThey were very easy to install and so far seem sturdy. Durability remains to be seen, but so far, so good

Have had a few of these treads on my backyard steps for 3 days - so can't speak to longevity - but so far so good. Easy to use/place.

We have finished hardwood stairs and out two old dogs were slipping and falling when they tried to come down. We installed these stair treads and the dogs are able to come down the stairs very easily without sliding. The stair treads have not moved since they were put in place (on a clean floor). I would buy these again in a minute.

Our 1860 home has 12 Wood steps to the 2nd floor … Our 12 year old Lab fell down trying to get to the 2nd floor main bedroom ……. and was afraid to try to go up the stairs again ….. this was 5 days ago ….Received your mats and installed yesterday ….. He now can go up the stairs.....

The dimensions given in the product description, “18.3 x 8.7 x 6.3 inches”, are only for the package in which the treads are packaged. The actual treads are 30 inches long, too long for my steps. I would not try to cut them and have them look all raggedy. There appears to be a peel off backing although the product description says: “stair runners are non-adhesive.” I had to return them and am left with slippery steps. Oh well, maybe home Depot has something that will work.
