Great Pedometer
I have been using the One Tweak Pedomert for about 2 weeks now. It works well for me, and I had no problems setting it up. I think the reason for some people havng difficulty with set up is that the Step Mode shows "step" on the top. When you are in Memory Mode, there is also a screen that shows "step" on the top since you are viewing steps in memory. It is important that you actually be in step mode, not memory mode to initiate the setup. Once you get that, setup is a breeze. I like the fact that this is a pedeometer, and only a pedometer (albeit with distance and calories tracked as well). I am pre-diebetic, and I want to measure the steps that I take during my daily walking exercise. I do not need or want all the other fluff that many devices come with (heart rate, bluetooth sync, auto upload, other activity tracking, etc.). A simple pedometer for tracking exercise steps is exactly what I want, and the One Tweak is just that. It appears to be very acurate at counting steps and distance. The calories burned appear to be a bit high, but I have nothing to compare too, so I can not say for certain. I really like that it filters out short movements of less than 10 steps. That allows me to wear it all day, and only count steps taken when I am ligitmately walking some where, and not just getting up to pull a file or something from only a few steps away. I have not had any problems with the clip being weak as some have suggeted. I clip to my pants pocket opening with the pedometer inside my pocket, and it seems to be fine. I have not experienced any problems with it comming unclipped or the clip breaking, so it is fine for me. The reset bustton is in a location where you could accidently reset it when unclipping the pedoometer from you pocket. I have been careful though and this has actually not been a problem for me. You just need to be aware of this potential, and it is not hard to avoid this accident. All in all, I give the One Tweak Pedometer 5 stars. It is a great product and exactly what I was looking for. I like the fact that the CEO of this small company emailed me to offer setup support and follow up on how I liked the product. I did not need any setup support, but I did exchange a breif email with her, and appreciate the dedication to satisfying her customers. I normally do not write product reviews, but decided to in this case specifically because of her support efforts.

Finally, an accurate pedometer at a reasonable price
Finally, a pedometer that's accurate, tracks useful information, has a holder with a strong clip, a lanyard if you prefer to hang it on your neck, is well designed and seems well built. I've dropped it on the street and it just kept going. Add to that, it's very reasonably priced. The best part is the customer service. The owner has sent three emails offering helpful hints and tips and even provided a personal cell phone number if needed. The owner's emails almost begged me to call if I needed any help with setup or any questions for that matter. It's like the customer service is from another planet! I asked one question in an email before using the device. The response came back in about an hour with five paragraphs of explanation, offering more than one option to accomplish what I wanted to do. Not even Apple does that. Several reviews have mentioned the difficulty with setup. I found the instructions to be clear with both text and pictures, concise but comprehensive, large type font and well illustrated in color. This is an electronic device with lots of features and if you want to set it up to take advantage of all of them, you need to be able to follow and execute 9 steps. I'm trying not to overstate this but, to me, these instructions are very clear and easy to follow. The only difficulty I had in setup was the quick timeout on each setup step. For example, when you're entering your stride length, if you don't do it quickly, it times out in just a few seconds. The first time through, I thought about some of the prompts too long and got timed out. The second time through, I wrote all the answers down and entered them quickly. Doing so got it setup on the second try. In one of the helpful emails, the owner warns you to act quickly to avoid timeouts. Other than that I found setup to be straightforward and logical. A note of caution: if you're using the holder/clip to attach the device to you pocket or belt or whatever, be aware that the buttons are located right about where you put your thumb or forefinger to release the clip. Thus, it wouldn't be too hard to inadvertently press a button when removing the device from your pocket, belt, etc. However, it's not a big problem. Unless you press and then hold the button for a few seconds, no harm is done. This is the third pedometer I've tried, one of which was a pricey Fitness Band (which was not at all accurate whenever I was sweating). This is the best of the three. I've only used it for a week, so if something changes, I'll update this review.

4.8 Rating
I read the negative reviews of the pedometers at this price range and selected this OneTweak. It arrived in good shape a few days earlier than promised. One common negative comment about these pedometers is inaccurate counting of steps - the OneTweak did not have comments about inaccuracy and that's why I picked it. I have found that it is accurate. A negative comment about the OneTweak is difficulty with set up -- I received the quickstart guide and had absolutely no trouble getting started. It took me about 5 minutes max. The quickstart guide has diagrams and simple instructions. Big bonus for me, with my 60-year-old eyes: I did not need reading glasses to see the instructions or read the numbers and markings on the device. The other common negative comment about the OneTweak is that the device clip is not secure. I have found that to be true. When I clip it on the front of my waistband, it pops off when I bend over. I have successfully clipped it on a belt loop which results in a big bulge under my shirt and on my bra which subjects it to sweat when I'm exercising. Overall, a great product, just needs a tighter clip. I want to give it a 4.8. Edit: So, what about the lanyard, you might be asking? Well, evidently Ms. Cat knocked it off the counter and her partner in crime, Mr. Dog, chewed off the plastic and metal, leaving me with just the strap. That Darn Cat.

Great pedometer. Accurate and not expensive. Update 3-1-19
Great pedometer. Accurate and not expensive. I have been using the Omron HJ-112 Digital Pocket Pedometer for about 8-10 years and have been very happy with it. The downside is the cost and the visibility after a few months of use (it picks up lint from the pocket after using less than a year). The cost is my first problem with the Omron. $75 for a pedometer is more than ridiculous especially since it has no special features when compared with similar pedometers. I have gone through 3 of these expensive babies in the last 10 years and they work, but nothing special. It was time for a change. I did a search and came up with One Tweak. The cost is minimal and quite reasonable. I bought one on the chance that my choice would be rewarded with a good product at a reasonable price. YES! It is a good product and at a very reasonable price ($20). I loved the Omron HJ-112 Digital Pocket Pedometer but had to replace it about every 3 years because the readout became unreadable. So far the One Tweak is every bit as good and accurate as the Omron HJ-112 Digital Pocket Pedometer and the replacement cost is negligible. This review is based on my experiences, so far, with the One Tweak. The customer service, though I did not need to use it, provides the customer with a cell phone number direct to the seller. Can't get much better than that! 5 stars+. I recommend it based on my experience at this time. I am writing an update to say again how much I love this pedometer! Due to bad knees and hips I don't walk as much as I did when I was younger. Today I changed the battery for the first time. I had kept the instructions written for me by the seller of this marvelous device. It was a snap to change the battery (I have a nice set of small screwdrivers) and her instructions were very easy to follow. Within about 4 minutes total I had changed the battery and reset all of the parameters. Such a wonderful pedometer! I have paid, more than once, for other pedometers that were top rated and also top expensive. This one is a keeper! Thank you so much for offering such a usable and re-usable tool. I keep it in the back of my mind when it comes time to buy presents for friends.

BUY THIS PEDOMETER, YOU'LL BE GLAD YOU DID
Buy this pedometer, you will be pleased that you did. I wear mine on one of the front belt loops of my jeans and it works great there. When I'm running around beltless, it's small enough to clip into my pocket or on the waistband. I find the OneTweak very accurate. Having the OneTweak on is very motivating to take extra steps. If you're trying to introduce more activity into your daily routine, this is such an inexpensive and fun (yes, fun) way to do it. You'll realize how much or how little you're getting up and walking around. I already knew I need to do more when I'm working, but I'm truly surprised how much I walk around the grocery store! Ho ho, and wait until you mow the yard! I know some of you have had your challenges, but I found it very easy to set up. Yes, some of the mode titles are small, but the main data is easy to read even for the tiredest eyes. To boot, you're going to receive an email from the owner of the company (yes, she cares that much!) offering to answer any questions you have. I've only had a short time, but it's turned out to be a super purchase already. I bought one for My Mom too. My Mom is 84 years-young and she's loving her OneTweak. I'm buying another one for my Sis who loves hiking around the hills of Sausolito. My wife has one of those fancy-pants FitBits, it works fine, but cost 7 times as much as this little gem. Plus, she looks like all the other yo-yos on the latest fitness fad. The OneTweak works perfectly and is a little more discreet and saved me a pile of $$$. If you're looking for an easy to use, accurate, inexpensive, and fun tool to get you moving, stop searching, you just found it. See you on the path of life! ionic777

SURVIVED BEING WASHED IN MY WASHING MACHINE! AMAZINGLY DURABLE PRODUCT!
UPDATE 5/17/17 - This morning, I accidentally left my One Tweak clipped to my pant's pocket when doing some laundry. By the time I remembered it, the One Tweak was completely submerged in water and had gone through a spin cycle. I thought that between the shock of being submerged in water for over an hour and subjected to the violent shock of the spin cycle on the washing machine that the One Tweak would have been destroyed. When I removed the One Tweak the digital display was not working and showed some water drops inside it. Instead of tossing the pedometer, I decided to take it apart (very easy to do) and to dry out its internals with a paper towel. I then added a new battery and reset the One Tweak to see if it would still work. Imagine my surprise when the One Tweak 's digital display lit up and it I was able to circle through its mode feature. I then started to walk with it on to determine if its motion sensitive function was still working and it works perfectly. This is one tough little pedometer and worth every penny. Just remember that it is not water proof, so don't use it for swimming. Moreover, if the unit does get wet and stops functioning, take it apart and dry its internals, replace the battery and press on the reset set switch with a pencil tip or small screw driver. You might well find that the One Tweak will work start working properly again. Earlier... UPDATE: 4/29/17 - I've been using this pedometer for a few months now and find it to be indispensable in monitoring my daily walking. I just clip it on in the morning and unclip it at the end of the day to see how many miles I have walked. There are plenty of Websites that offer conversion charts from steps to miles so that you can know precisely how far you are walking each day. This item is worth every penny. It is also durable. I had accidentally dropped it several times and it continues to function perfectly. UPDATE: I've been using this pedometer for a few weeks now and find it to be a wonderful tool for monitoring my daily walks. I just reset it each morning, clip it on my pant's pocket and go. At the end of each day I check to see how many steps I have walked. It's that simple. The OneTweak is a fantastic, diminutive and unobtrusive device that can be used by anyone who is looking to get back into great physical condition one step (please excuse the pun) at a time. Highly recommended! This is an excellent pedometer for the money, with several useful features. However, its instructions take a bit of getting used to which has resulted in some OneTweak users contacting customer service for help. In this case, this company's customer service is said to be excellent; a rarity these days. Highly recommended!

Setup was terrible
Just got it today so step one is setup. There is no backlight so it’s difficult to see those tiny words even when I put light is on it - very tiny! Then following the instruction handout - oh dear! Fortunately reviews say to watch the video on the setup on their website. So I go to the website as instructed in the handout and it doesn’t belong to them anymore - wants to know if I want to buy that domain - smh! So I YouTube it. There’s plenty in the video that isn’t in the handout! Well that took me an hour-mostly cuz I couldn’t see the itty bitty words and the set button is too tiny for my fat fingers so I had to use a pen cap. Hopefully it works better than the setup process.

I love the effective communication from OneTweak
I ordered 3 piece of OneTweak pedometer for myself, my wife and daughter and received my order promptly, few hours earlier before scheduled. I love the effective communication from OneTweak, as I received detailed email from them even before my order arrived explaining the set up process, their willingness to support me in case of any set up problem was very encouraging. Though this is my third pedometer from different manufacturers but OneTweak is the man, it’s easy to use, light in weight & it doesn't disturb me at all hence I clip it to my belt or waistband or neck and wear it everywhere. I love it likewise my wife and daughter, even my two sons are now asking me for one each. It is easy to read and easy too to scroll through data records. I set up different daily targets for the 3 of us as desired and competition has since then started. The accuracy is great from my comparison with my phone pedometer app. looking at your steps keeps you motivated to be more active. I had no problems at all with the initial set up, initially I thought it will be hard to set up but it is pretty easy to set up, in my case I took well less than 2 minutes to set up the 3 different pedometers. You even don’t need to be reading the steps, rather just know or decide your choice about hours either 12hrs or 24hrs, in or cm then take note of date, time, stride length required, etc and be aware that you will be using the mode/reset buttons for selection or to increase or decrease while set button is used to store what you choose. Honestly it's that simply contrary to what I read. Yes I will full recommend OneTweak to anyone who wants good pedometers. Let the competition begins guys..!
