Effective for my Keratosis Pilaris
I have keratosis pilaris and strawberry skin on the back of my upper arms and on my legs below the knees. I’ve tried lotions with aha and bha acids. I’ve layered 8% glycolic acid with 10% urea cream from Laroche Posay. I’ve gently used physical exfoliation and also 10% glycolic body lotion. Gentle is working. This is not for everyone but because I’ve been using different acids for months now with no results I feel that I have to try something else. I let my legs rest for 2 days. During that time I would apply Cetafil lotion after my morning show and then again at night. On the third day I was my legs with warm water, patted them dry and waited another 10 minutes to make sure they are completely dry because any water left on the skin can make the acid more potent. From my knee down to my ankle I applied 2 droppers full of the lactic acid. Spread it gently and DID NOT run in. Applied the serum to both legs. Say back and waited 10 minutes. I felt a little tingling but absolutely no burning. At 10 min I sat on the edge of my tub and rinsed the serum off with slightly warm water and a wash cloth making sure to get every bit of serum off. I patted my legs gently and left them a bit damp. Right away I slathered on Cetafil lotion and then went on with my day. That night before bed I put an additional layer of Cetifil over the first. I did notice it earlier but my legs were less bumpy. So excited. For the next week I will apply 10% urea acid lotion twice a day and then do another lactic acid peel to see if more bumps will wash away. My legs are fine. No redness, no peeling, no tightness or itching. I’m pleased with the results. I’ll keep working on them until they are gone.

Too much for my face but great on feet and legs
I had previously reviewed this product for use on the face. I cannot use this on my face and I’m guessing it’s because of the peppermint in it. I use stronger than 30% glycolic acid regularly on my face with very little discomfort, so I wasn’t expecting this to have such a burning sensation. I still don’t know what the purpose of including peppermint in this lactic acid, but I don’t use it on my face anymore, so it’s a non-issue. What I do use this for is my feet and legs, along with (usually) a urea cream. I do not feel the burning sensation on my feet and legs that I felt on my face with this. What I can say is that the combination of urea and lactic acid have been fantastic for my feet. The callouses melt away. . Lactic acid is also really good for nails, so I’ve been using a bit of this at night with Very Emollient lotion, rubbing into my cuticle, and I think it helps. The real magic is on my feet and legs, though. So soft, no more KP bumps on my legs, callouses and dry cracked skin on my feet are no longer a problem at all with this + urea cream. I’ll keep ordering this just for my feet and legs. Lactic acid is a great humectant (as is urea) and it makes my skin very very soft. I just don’t use this on my face.,

I’ve used Perfect Image Peels for a few years. My first purchase was a package of sample size peels. The Lactic Acid 30% worked great for me, so I purchased the full size. Start slowly and be patient. Go light and rinse off after 30-60 seconds the first time to see how your skin will react. And, know you may not know how it reacts until the next day. For me 30% Lactic Acid is gentle enough to use every week or so if I go light and rinse off after 2 minutes or so. It’s also strong enough to layer and leave on longer if I want a deeper peel. A deeper peel that does result in visible peeling and flaking. Make sure you rinse thoroughly. I use cold water with baking soda mixed in to help neutralize the peel.

Burns!
I am an experienced user of lots of over-the-counter acid peels. I’m a big fan of glycolic acid and kojic acid. I’ve used very low percentages of lactic acid as well as had acid peels that include lactic acid in the mix. Decided to purchase this and give it a shot and it burned really bad. You can only leave this on absolute maximum one minute. It does cause a lot of peaking And redness so I don’t use it very often.

Great results!
I love everything about this peel! It’s gentle, no recovery time, great effects. Diminishes dark spots, hydrates, smoothes the skin visibly! It’s already second bottle I’ve ordered. I’m thinking of getting different strengths and different acids from this brand.

Useless
I did not see any improvements on my face other than I am now stuck with huge dry, flaky patches on my nose, around my mouth area, and chin. Thanks a lot. Just like the other reviewer, I've also applied three layers and did not see any changes. Maybe it's not that effective for people with darker skin tones. I will no longer be using any of these products nor will I recommend them to anyone with blemishes, acne, whiteheads, and clogged/open pores.
