Calusa Cast Nets

I have thrown most of the top brands of cast nets for past 25 years and nothing compares to the smoothness and opening of the Calusa in the 10 foot plus class of cast nets. Everyone who throws nets for bait hopes all you will need is one throw before you can move to fishing. Unfortunately there are those days when the bait is scarce and 15 or 20 throws are necessary...and that is where $75 to $100 more in net quality is worth every penny of it in large cast nets.

Great net! Can't go wrong with a Calusa. Husband loved it! He had a net but wasn't happy with the performance, so we surprised him with a top of the line net and he couldn't be happier!

The shipment arrived before the actually arrival date and I was so thrilled and full of joy because it came on the birthday of my husband, so he was able to open his gift.

In the past I was able to justify paying a $100-$150 premium for a good quality well made Calusa net. When loading this net, the leads hung up and fanning would not release them. After spreading the net out on the on the lawn, I discovered 2 of the monofilament lines were about 12-14" too short and two other lines were about 18-24" too long. After replacing the two short lines and shortening the two long lines; the net loaded, fanned and opened. It's still appears to be a well made net, but for the price, I was expecting much better quality control and workmanship. Perhaps I purchased one of the nets the owner's son had to make while working over spring break.

This is our 4th Calusa net and each and everyone has been perfect.

Excellent Net. Throws Great

Spent a lot of money on a cast net from calusa and a bunch of the Braille lines were detached. I left a review on their website and they did not approve/ post it. Popped up on amazon as an item I may be interested in... no thanks!
