Airhead G-Force 3 | 1-3 Rider Towable Tube for Boating

So Much Fun! 🌊 This tube was AMAZING! We had an absolute blast on the lake with it. It held up great, was so much fun, and definitely made our day on the water even better. If you have a boat, you absolutely need one of these! I highly recommend it to anyone looking to have some fun on the lake. 🚤☀️🌊

Update 9 June 2014: It's season 3 for this tube and it's been working great. I raised my rating to 5 stars as we've had no problems once we figured out how to position to avoid submarining and we've had a ton of fun. I would buy this tube again. UPDATE 6 August, 2012: Have used this tube several more days for multiple hours each time. All my previous comments still apply. We're having a blast with this tube. Original Review: I bought this tube last week and used it last weekend. So, disclaimer... I've only used it a couple of days on a lake. I would give this tube 5 stars if it didn't submarine a few times. Yes, I found that this tube would occasionally submarine if the people on it were not positioned well. But, with just a few such incidents, we used this tube for hours over two days and had great success. We had kids as small as 75 lbs up to 150 lbs. and it worked well 95% of our runs. I find the exterior skin to be a good quality, thick nylon, and the inner bladder appears to be a good quality, thick, rubberized plastic. Sizing is a lot like rafts. That is, they say it holds 3 persons, but that's true only if they're small or medium sized. For me, three kids worked as did two larger kids (teenagers roughly equivalent to adults). You'd have a tough time using this tube with three adults. If you want to haul a large number of and/or larger people, look at bigger tubes. This one is, from what I've seen, a medium-sized tube. Side note: Amazon suggested various tow ropes to purchase with my tube. I did buy the Kwik Tek Airhead 4 Rider Tube Rope ( Kwik Tek Airhead 4 Rider Tube Rope ). Amazon also suggested I buy some additional connection components. I did not need these. My boat has a quick connect hook and this tube has a quick connect. The rope is looped at both ends and connected to the boat and tube directly. No need for additional connecting components. Conclusion: After one use I am pleased. I would recommend this tube to others. I would buy it again. I will be using this tube several times more this summer, so if you see no update to this review, then I'm still happy and my conclusions are still valid.

Easily fits three teenage girls. Very stable. In fact, it's so stable over waves that this tube is hard to flip. Comfortable handles. Inflates fast and deflates fast. Folds up nicely to a relatively small size compared to similar tubes. So good my wife's not getting this one in the divorce!

Bought this tube as a Christmas gift for the kids. Price was amazing for $90.00, wish I had gotten two of them for that price. Usually tubes of this size sell for $150 on up. Kids couldn't wait to get out there and go for it. First time out it did submerge but they figured out quickly to sit back on it. Once out on the water, with three kids on it, the tube still takes on great air especially on windy days as it goes over the boat's wake. The material is somewhat holding up. It is getting a little warn around the corners for one season. Kids aren't fond of the side fins. Keeps them from flying outward but they still manage to fall off, maybe on purpose. This is one of the better tubes purchased. Will search for it again this Christmas to see if the price will go down and buy a second one.

We have purchased probably a dozen of these tubes over the last many years. Kids have loved them in the water. The used to make very good products, and to stand behind them. The only other time we have had a defective product issue several years ago they quickly responded and replaced it. BUT BOTH THE QUALITY AND CUSTOMER SUPPORT HAS CHANGED FOR THE WORSE, AND THEY HAVE LOST A GOOD CUSTOMERS BECAUSE OF IT. Over the last few years they have replaced the Boston valve using a screw-on cap with a two-piece connection that incorporated the Boston valve. While seemingly a good idea, it makes separating the Boston valve to inflate much harder. EVEN WORSE, THIS HAS LED TO A PRODUCT DEFECT THAT AIRHEAD REFUSES TO ACKNOWLEDGE. We had only used our tube a couple of time when it developed a significant leak around the valve stem, where due to shoddy design and/or workmanship the valve stem seam separate along nearly half of the neck, making the $180 product unusable. Any engineer would know that this should not happen, particularly after just a few uses, and is clearly due to a design and/or manufacturing defect as it split and separated uniformly around the neck; it did not tear unevenly as would be expected if the product was misused. And it certainly was not misused. We have been filling these tubes exactly the same way hundreds of time previously without ever encountering this issue. Apparently Airhead does not employ any engineers, and just resells Chinese products, because when confronted with the facts and asked to replace the new, defective tube, and after weeks delay in response, Airhead denied any responsibility and blamed the customer: “So looking at the photos of the damage in question from the area where you pointed out the damage isn’t a manufacture defect. That damage is usually caused from the valve area being pulled with too much force. If this was a manufacture defect you may have noticed when you first inflated the tube.” Whether a design defect (which I tend to believe) or a bad product manufacture in the one we ordered, we are left with a piece of junk and a commitment to (1) help others avoid Airhead's poor quality products and horrible customer support and (2) look for and support Airhead's competitors. STAY AWAY FROM AIRHEAD THE COMPANY AND ITS PRODUCTS AT ALL COSTS!

Okie, here is the deal on this tube - unless you have young children it would be a tight squeeze for three people to get on this. Up to ages 15 or so they can do it, but I will use this for a 2 person. The kids liked it, perhaps not as much as the Kwik Tek Airhead Viper 2. This may be because this tube is more work for them. I could see they were getting a more exciting tube ride being closer to the water. These things are well made. Our other tube from Airhead has lasted over 10 years now. Advice - these guys fade in the sun. One or two summers of leaving them out in the weather for a few months and they will start to look pink. They will regain their redness in the water, but this is an easy fix - just do not leave them on the boat, the dock or in the water all summer, duh. Well worth the money, but they do submarine when taking off if the kids lean forward and that is hell on a wave runner so tell them not to do that! :)
