Fowler 54-870-001-0, Xtra-Value Ii Digital Micrometer With 0-1"/25MM Measuring Range

I am using this to assemble my engine and I also compared it to a much more expensive set of Mitutoyo digital calipers to test for accuracy and these were bang on accurate down to the microns. The build quality is decent, I wish that the turn dial was more sturdy or maybe made of metal but it does the job well without costing an arm and a leg. It's very easy to use and the display is simple and easy to read. I highly recommend this if you don't have the cash to go for the much more expensive German or Japanese counterparts.

i bought this for work and was only able to use it a few times before the plastic cap on the back broke into multiple pieces rendering it useless....expected more from fowler.

A very accurate micrometer for the price, but not terribly durable. I wouldn't buy this one if you drop your mics on the floor often. A good price, but old stock; mine was delivered with a good bit of warehouse dust on the box, a cracked plastic case, and a stone-dead battery on arrival. Probably had been sitting in a warehouse for years before they sent it to me. Also, packaging was minimal, so maybe the case was cracked by USPS.

Phenomenal product with accuracy out to five digits. Unheard of at this price.

High quality, easy to use, feels good in your hand. Love the easy-to-read display and the ratchet knob.
