Don't let the size fool you!
This things may be small but it is a beast! I'm using a pretty sizable manfrotto ball head with a canon xa11 . Needless to say it's holding it perfectly. I love the quickness of extending and retracting the legs and This technology. Well done and well made!! Adjusting is so easy when needing to do it quickly.

Compact and lightweight
This little guy worked great for a backpacking trip across Isle Royale National Park. Unfortunately, I only got it out a few times on the trip but when I needed it I got the money shots I was after. Simple to use. Leave the mounting plate on my camera so I’m always ready to go.

Excellent build. Small size fits in a backpack.
Just what I was looking for in a travel tripod. Very good construction. Sturdy yet small. Fits in a back pack, and even in my front pouch when traveling. Comes with hidden spikes for soft ground. These may be a problem for TSA. Don't know yet as I haven't traveled. Have to research that. All in all, highly recommended.

the fine print
i really did want to like this tripod. carbon fiber makes it extremely light considering it claims it will hold 11 pounds. my nikon d750 equipped with a nikkor 80-200 weigh nearly 5 pounds. what they don't state here is the legs have 3 preset angles. the two lowest hold 5 pounds stably, but the highest will cause the camera to tip. the 3-piece extension is only recommended for smartphones and p&s cameras. so, unfortunately, this is going back because it is extremely limited for my intentions. it's a great buy for smartphones and p&s cameras. i'm not sure how you would use anything that weighs 11 pounds on this.

Great little tripod!
I'm really impressed with the build quality and functionality of this little tripod. It's perfect for my use as a tabletop tripod with my camera/lens setup - about 3.1 pounds. I don't know how stable it would be if the legs were completely extended and a heavier setup was used. It's not cheap, but I think it's a decent value for the quality.

Gamechanger
This tripod is it for me. It is exactly what I have been looking for. Well, I am maybe not depending so much on my tripod as others do, but I still find it useful enough that I always want to bring it with me on, for example, a hike. For a long time, I was using the gorillapod, but often found that the height of it was limiting for me. However, I still didn't want to bring a larger and heavier tripod to get that increased height. This Oben tripod has just that extra height in a very compact and light format that makes it perfect for just throwing in the backpack and not even noticing that it is there until I need it. I honestly think this tripod deserves a lot more hype than the other compact tripods out there, because it offers just so much more. I can 100% recommend it.

Not particularly stable for my FF camera + macro lens
Relatively flimsy table top tripod that poorly supported a full frame camera even when the lens is not particularly large or heavy. Had set up my Sony A7RV +Sony 90mm Macro lens on tripod. With legs extended wide, tripod was stable but not when more upright. I have another tripod (Manfrotto, see photo) that works better for my purposes but obviously lacks the versatility I'd hoped the Oben tripod would provide. Wish the tripod had stronger legs. Concerned about damage to MY equipment. I do think this is a GREAT tripod for APS-C and m43 cameras (assuming no heavy lenses) and ideal for P+S cameras.

Must have item for spotting scope
Very good addition to my spotting scope, much better than the included stand.
