Comfortable and Safe
I am a boot wearing old guy! I have cheap boots and expensive boots, dress boots and yard-work boots, boat boots, kayaking boots and motorcycle boots. I have owned several pairs from Nortiv8. Like all of them for one reason or another. I bought these military/tactical boots for motorcycle riding. They are replacing the soft brown pair in the photo. I went with the leather forefoot for shifting protection. They are well made, fit perfect, offer protection for my ankles, and the zipper is the additional feature that caused me to try them. So far, I am pleased with them. Comfortable, protective, and easy on-off. And of course I must mention they are all around as good as some more costly name-brand boots I've owned. Well done Nortiv! And Amazon!

Fabulous boots
Just got them, and I'm really happy with these boots. I was shoveling snow in them within an hour and they're very comfortable, warm, and dry. Not stiff at all out of the box. They feel lightweight but durable. Time will tell how they hold up. First impressions: 1. They are much more comfortable than three other similar pairs I tried from other sites/big box stores. 2. I wear a nine. These fit like a glove. Perfect. 3. The laces run down onto the toe box a bit, so you can tighten them as you wish. 4. The toe box is large enough to use inserts for plantar fasciitis, etc... This is a big plus for me. The inserts actually improved the fit a bit. 5. The leather parts look shineable. They'll look great with a decent polish. 6. The zipper on the side is nice but unnecessary: I find it easier just use the laces when putting them on. The zippers on both boots were a little sticky from a drop of glue that had oozed onto them. No big deal, I just scraped the glue and dangling threads off and they worked fine. Not worth returning them over it. Overall, I really like these boots. The price is terrific too.

Failed on first few hours of normal use UPDATE!
I put them on for the first time and was walking in and out of the house. Flat concrete driveway. About 4 hours into wearing them, it sounded like a pop on the bottom of the sole. I figured a pebble got stuck in it. I looked and and nothing. I can feel something gives and pops on the ball of my foot area but it's inside the sole. Maybe I got a bad pair but definitely not happy with them. I'm back to give an update! The original boots failed on me as I stated before. The seller's contacted me as soon as they saw the review and asked me HOW could they make it right! I explained I didn't want to go through the hassle of returning items and they let me know that, that wasn't a problem. They wanted to make me a satisfied customer. They offered to replace the boots with ANY other shoe they carried at no cost. I simply wanted the pair I originally ordered so I let them know that was all I wanted. They sent me a new pair as I requested and told me not to worry about returning the other pair. Once the item was sent out, they contacted me to make sure I got them. I told them would would come back and give an HONEST update. Well, after wearing them a few weeks, they are pretty comfortable, they are holding up pretty well and for the price, you can't beat it. I gave an updated rating of 4 stars bcus of the comfortability. ( I had bad accident on my feet so maybe that's why ) As for the customer service, It's the best I've encountered in ANY other company with ANY other product. They went up and beyond my expectations on replacing their product. 10 stars for that!!!

Loyal customer
My husband absolutely loves these boots, the look, the comfort, and the quality. He wears them for work everyday 8 hours on his feet so he puts them through alot, he wears them in the rain, snow, dirt, and mud and they hold up and last for a pretty good stretch of time. The quality seems to have improved over the last 2 years too, they are holding up better and longer even though he still puts them through the ringer everyday. I will definitely continue to purchase these boots as long as they sell them. You've purchased NORTIV 8 tactical boots 7 times since September 2021. Great boots for the price
They’re comfortable, feel sturdy, and have good traction. They also look better in person than I expected. So far, they’ve been great.

Awesome Boots
Bought these to start new job. Got them because they were cheap. Figured after a few paychecks I'd order "better" ones. Been wearing them now everyday for 1.5 years and they've finally given out. They've been super comfortable, and Ive had much more expensive boots not last near as long. Ordering another pair to finally replace them!!!

Some good things, but 1 very bad problem - popping noise!
First the good points: 1 - The fit is excellent for me. I have a super high arch, and wide feet. Hard to find shoes that fit well with this combination. These fit quite well out of the box and are made on a last that allows for the high arch. 2 - The boots are quite comfortable. I do a lot of standing and walking on concrete in my job, so it's important to me to have comfortable shoes. The boots have an adequate amount of padding, and still feel good at the end of the day. 3 - The boots look nice. Hard to go wrong with basic black, the boots are nicely styled. And the disqualifying bad problem: X - The soles make a loud popping noise with every step. I wore the boots for a total of 6 shifts. At the end of the 5th shift I started to hear a slight "pop" from the right shoe with every step. This got louder as I walked along, and I thought maybe I picked up a piece of tape or ??? Starting the shift the next day, the right shoe was still popping, and shortly after the left shoe also started popping. This is loud enough that it can be heard 20-25 feet away, and is quite embarrassing. I searched the review for popping noise and found quite a few folks had the same experience. Speculation seemed to be that the sole is separating from the boot slightly and making an air gap that causes the noise when stepping onto the ground. I have therefore retired the boots, and will only use them while working on the lawn, knowing I will have to change them before heading to the store or running errands, due to the noise. This is a very frustrating result. I bought the boots around 8 months ago to replace a pair of Bates boots that were a year old that I thought were probably going to fail, as I had worn them for a year or so. So I can't really return the boots at this point. Very disappointed as Nortiv has some nice looking and affordable boots that look to be built on this same last, so I was planning to try out more of their boots if these ones had worked out. I may try to salvage these by injecting some adhesive, if I can find the cavity that's causing the problem. I'll report back if I have any luck. EDIT: Raising from 1 star to 3 as the company has issued me a full refund, with good communication and customer service.

Initial Review – Received 12/07/2025 This is just my first impression of the boots. I’ll post a follow-up review on comfort and durability after I’ve worn them for a week or two. Here are my initial thoughts: Pros 1. Price & First Impressions: For this type of boot, the price is outstanding. They may not be a big-name brand, but after years in the military and law enforcement—and owning boots from Danner, Galls, Under Armour, Oakley, and Bates—I can say my first impression was right on par with opening a new pair from any of those companies. (And yes, I still love the smell of fresh leather in the morning.) 2. Stitching & Build Quality: The leather is smooth and took two quick coats of polish extremely well, resulting in a very clean shine—not something I can say for every major brand. So far, I’m impressed. The zippers move easily, feel solid, and don’t seem prone to snagging or binding. The Velcro tab that secures the zipper is also strong. Lacing them up is straightforward. 3. Initial Comfort: Right out of the box, the boots felt surprisingly comfortable—almost like they were already broken in. At the time of writing, I’ve worn them for about six hours, and everything feels great so far. Cons 1. Upper Eyelets: I wish the top two or three eyelets were speed-lace loops. It’s not a big issue—it just takes a few extra seconds to lace them up. The existing eyelets are roomy, though, and the laces slide through them easily. 2. Pull Loop: A pull tab on the back would make putting the boots on a bit easier. Not a dealbreaker, just something that would be a nice addition.

Nice boots
Very nice boots, they are comfortable and surprisingly warm in winter. I sprayed them with boot water resistant spray to give them a bit of extra. Love the colour.

Great, lightweight boot.
I've only been wearing them for about a week and I have no complaints. They look great, real light, the fit is perfect. If they last more than a year, I'll be really impressed. Great value.
