Metal Treatment Gallon - Rust Converter for Metal Surfaces - Rust Remover for Cars, Boats, Trucks, 1 Gallon

I used Ospho Metal Treatment while restoring and treating rust spots on my Jeep Wrangler, and I was very impressed with the results. After years of off-roading, winter driving, and exposure to mud and road salt, I had surface rust developing on several metal components. Ospho helped stop the rust and prep the metal for primer and paint much better than sanding alone. It was easy to apply with a brush, and I could actually see the chemical reaction working as it converted the rusted areas. Once dry, the surface was much more stable and ready for repainting. I used it on skid plates, brackets, and other underbody areas with excellent results. A gallon goes a long way, especially if you’re working on a full Jeep restoration or maintenance project. If you’re trying to save rusty Jeep parts instead of replacing them, this product is definitely worth having in your garage. It made my rust repair process much easier and helped me get professional-looking results at home.

This stuff works great. Wire wheel effected area to remove bigger, scaley stuff, apply this let it dry. If the chemical reaction leaves more residue than your comfortable with, hit the area with a scotchbrite pad and it’s ready.

Works great as advertised. Much cheaper to treat, prime, and paint vs other products. Started by spraying on but wasted a lot. Much better to apply with paint brush.

If you’re using this on bare automotive sheet metal just be aware that not all primers are compatible with this material on the surface. Also, the only way to remove the Ospho after curing is to spray the surface with the Ospho again, let sit for 5-10 minutes and generously rinse it down with water. For long term storage of bare sheet metal or if using compatible primers and paints this a great product to ward off rust.

Seem to remove rust

Works well, I didn’t dilute it, package says it comes prediluted. I sprayed it on a rusty truck frame with an electric sprayer. Product works well. Turns most all the brown/ orange rust to a black or patina color with one application. It definitely chemically changes the rust to be stronger. I let it dry for 24 hours. Smells like vinegar, if you are in tight spaces you might want a mask. After it is all dry, the excess will turn to a white residue that can be rinsed off then its ready for paint according to the instructions. Great product overall.

Works great to neutralize rust on vehicles frame! Much better than expected.
