About Installation
I hooked up a car horn with a relay. My relay needed a (-) trigger to make it work. So you connect a black wire to a ground on the frame, then split that wire into two connectors. Put one connector into the Negative terminal and the other connector to the Common terminal. Next you'll need to make the trigger to your relay. I needed a (-) one so I connected a black wire to the NO (normal open) terminal and ran the wire up to the relay near the horn. To get the button to light up once the vehicle is running or on accessory mode you'll need to tap into the fuse box for a positive lead that gets a charge once it is running or in accessory mode. I used a fuse tap (bought at AutoZone) and connected it to the cigarette lighter fuse in the fuse box. It was a 20amp fuse, so I just put two 10 amp fuses in the fuse tap since I'm not running any items over 10amp on the cigarette lighter now or in the future. I connected the fuse tap to the (+) terminal on the button. Now when the car is on it lights up. Whether or not the car is running the horn blows when the button is pushed. In summary, the light comes on when a positive charge connects to the positive and a negative charge to the negative terminal. Whatever charge you feed into the (C) Common terminal goes out through the (NO) Normally Open terminal when the button is depressed. I needed it (-) so that is what I put into the (C) and out the (NO) to my device. If you need a (+) output then put a positive charge to the (C) and out the (NO) to your device. I just felt like elaborating on what Jonathan H reviewed back on January 2016. He made it understandable to me at first. Also, the opening was made with a 3/4 inch hole made with a wood bit. I used 14 gauge wire. Red for positive, black for ground/negative, and used a white wire as the trigger wire to the relay. I hope this helps to clarify the connection for this button.

The correct way to hook this switch up made simple
Ok , for all you guys that wonder which pole is which ... The com is power in ... then you have "no" which means normally open . That means that when the botton is at rest its not engaged, or the circuit is off .. then you have " nc" , this means normally closed .. or that the circuit in engaged . Hooking to this pole means you have to push the botton to stop the connection... these are the three center poles ... then you have two poles on the sides . These are for the lite .. one is pos .. the other is neg .. some here say to connect the no , or nc pole to the pos. Pole .. i disagree.. here is why .. If you connect them like that then when you push the botton only then does the lite come on .. that dont make no sense. You can't see that its on because your finger is pushing the botton . Instead hook the pos lite botton to your headlite switch , the wire that comes from your courtesy lights . this way when you turn on your head lites the botton shines and you can dim it with your dash lites ... good luck , I hope this clears this matter up for you guys ..

Painful to install in our car but worked perfectly once connected
I was asked to rate “sheerness”. What is that!? But the button works as advertised. Easiness of installation? Not a chance on a Nissan Versa dash panel (factory horn in the steering wheel stopped working, very pricy fix at dealership). Getting to the back of the plastic dash panel was literally painful, with very tight working conditions. But that’s a problem with the car, not the switch. The switch has separate wiring to light up the little horn icon. The problem is the switch base is small, making it tight to fit all the connections in our tight working space so for us, not worth going to the trouble. All those connectors also make it difficult to get to the nut used to tighten the switch in place. However, once in place and wired up, it honked the horn when pressed so we considered it a win.

Durable, mostly easy to wire in.
19mm push button, horn symbol glows red. Not sure if incandescent or LED but light source is not serviceable anyway. Body appears metal, button plastic, all shiny silver and looks decent. The button action has a noticeable notchy feel that tells you it's engaged, I bought another one that had no tactile feedback and I didn't like it. The wiring diagram isn't included and I asked about it, but then I just looked closer at the switch itself and it became clear. One side has a clearly molded + sign, the opposite has -. Down the middle are three, molded in a different color, with NO, NC and C molded in. You can google them, but basically they are Normally Open, Normally Closed and common. Common, for me, I joined to the + input. Then I used the Normally Open pin. This way there's no signal down the NO wire until you hit the button, then you get +12V to signal the horn or a relay if your horn is very loud. The details indicate a 5A carry load but I don't trust it, plus the wire I used was pretty small. Mine will feed a relay. One star missing for no diagram included, not even a link in the product description.

Difficult to solder wires
Because it was small and had 5 lugs that you had to solder wires to it rated it down. You would need a small soldering iron and being able to solder small spaces. it would have been nicer if it had 5 short pigtails to connect to. After getting wires soldered it was easy to install and works just fine.
