Spartan Blades SBSL003BKBK Damysus Fixed Blade Knife

I've been a huge fan of spartan blades and all their work. When I saw they launched their silver line, I knew I had to have one, people hate on 1095 crovan, but I love it. I used to carry a full sized 'army' stamped ka-bar while in the field, and it always did its job. My Ka-bar always sharpedned up nicely once back in civilization 😂 The Damysus has the badass design of a Spartan Blade but with the feel and reliability of ka-bar steel. What more can a young infantryman ask for?

The blade does not want to hold an edge. I won’t even use it for wood shavings bc the edge starts to soften. Really pretty inife and well balanced. The handle feels great too. The Jayden sheath fits very snug with the blade.

Great quality knife from a great company.I ditched the belt attaching portion in favor of some HSGI molle attachments. Not a huge fan of the locking mechanism, but with some practice it’s less of a hindrance to get the knife quickly unsheathed.

Well worth the money. Feels great in the hand, extremely impressed.

I wasn’t sure I would like this knife. It has a very squared off handle and looked somewhat uncomfortable. The sheath also looked kind of cheap. I decided to take a chance anyway, as this is a collaboration between two great companies. I must say I’m pleasantly surprised. This is one solid piece of steel! Although it is definitely a square handle, it affords a very good grip. The slabs are very grippy, but surprisingly comfortable at first impression. Unlike another reviewer’s experience, mine were well aligned. I will have to put it to use in the woods to see how I like it, as well as to see how it holds an edge (probably just like my other Kabar products with this steel). The sheath is excellent, not horribly bulky and it retains the knife very well. One of my favorite factory sheaths! I will update the post when I’ve had some time outdoors with this tool. Update: although my feelings about this knife have not changed about everything else, I feel the handle, although excellent for combat, is too aggressive for bushcraft, unless you have gloves. If you’re primarily looking for a woods tool, there are better handles out there for similar prices.

I was never able to afford any of the Spartan line ,but with the K-Bar collaboration ,they have made it possible to at least have a product with the Spartan stamp.Good knife good steel,so many 1095 haters ,it's a good steel ,was going to order the Machai also but unavailable on Amazon .Would buy this knife again.
