Essential Reading For Organisational Researchers
I have enjoyed reading this book. I am a PhD Student and feel that this book is essential reading for organisational researchers. I really like to down to earth approach taken of the complex phenomenon that exists inside organisations. This book is really helpful to my studies.

Not the most interesting read..
I had to buy this book as it was the core textbook for one of my university modules. If I didn't have to, I would not have got it. Each chapter looks at a different topic or issue common in today's organisations (e.g. Morals/Bureaucracy/Motivation etc..) and it has a plethora of real life or fictive examples (which are fairly interesting). If you have to read this at university, odds are that you already read most of the stuff elsewhere and there are very few which you won't find elsewhere. I will also mention that it does not read like a regular textbook, and while it has theory and mentions known critics, at times it feels more like you are reading a story (which you will forget soon after finishing).

A bit low level
The book was suggested to me as something different and interesting in the way of management. I bought it, I do not say I regret the decision, because it has stories in it that are useful little "colorful" illustrations to topics, but in general it is not a very good textbook. As a book it is entertaining, well written, but the students do not need lots of words about concepts but definitions, explanations, a bit of an illustration of the text. This is flowing and you just cannot say what they should memorize from it. A good yarn, no more.

not my avourite topic area
i didnt love the topic area which dulled the book for me and made it hard to read. The book covers the topic to a satisfactory level and is a good book to be used in business management.
