Does just one thing, but does it so very well.
First up let me say that i sequence this from another piece of kit, so i can't say much about the built in sequencer on this. But i have one friend who says that they have maybe been a little too faithful in copying most of the original 303, when they should probably have simplified that one aspect of it. . My only other criticisms of this would be that the plastic case does feel a bit cheap to the touch (though the original probably did too). And i would have liked this to have come with a USB cable included, since adding USB audio and MIDI is something more modern that they have seen fit to add (wisely, if you ask me). . But those quibbles aside, i have to say that if you are in the market for a cheap 303 clone then look no further. This is what you want. This just has FUN written all over it. Yes, it only makes the one sound, and that's it. But there have been times i've played with this for ages with no other sound running except a simple 4/4 kick drum loop. . The cutoff and resonance knobs do actually feel like they are built to withstand the kind of use and abuse that they are going to get. The built in distortion is good, but putting this through a cheap fuzzbox (and a little reverb) is even better. Overall the sound can not be faulted. . The main audio out is a single quarter inch jack on the back. But there is also a 3.5mm jack on the top for headphones. And apart from the USB there is also the standard 5 pin MIDI in and out sockets on the back. There is also a selection of other small jack in and out sockets on the top for things like CV and gate, but i have yet to try these. But the standard 5 pin MIDI works straight out of the box, taking it's signal from any hardware sequencer that i tried, no problem. Though it's worth mentioning that the default MIDI channel is 1, which took me a moment to figure out as i am more used to kit defaulting to 9, 10, or 11 (depending on what kind of thing it is). But once i did figure this out then we were up and running with no more hiccups. This also connected to my computer and DAW seamlessly. And within only a minute or so i was writing parts for it from my old iMac that's still running the outdated O.S. ''High Sierra''. . I know that there are probably some none music-making people who will think that spending his kind of money of something that just makes one sound is a stupid thing to do. But what do they know?! That this is as good as it is and comes under £300, even under £200, is mind blowing enough. But if you are not fussy about the colour then there are ones on here for even under £100, which is nothing short of incredible.

A well made clone of a classic
I own a few 303 clones, and this Behringer TD-3 punches well above the price tag, especially when Amazon is selling them for £85. Many people are a little hesitant about the onboard sequencer, but it is true to the original '80s design, a little annoying to use at first, but really not that hard. Besides, you can program it via the free SynthTribe software provided on their site. Having MIDI in/out is a massive bonus compared to the original that only had DINSync and this one has a built-in Boss DS-1 style distortion. All these added extras just make it more appealing, and you can do MIDI over USB as well, along with any potential firmware updates. The sound is pretty much what you would expect from a 303, and I've used plenty of original '80s ones to know that they all sound a little different anyway. You can unscrew this TD-3 and mess with the factory filter setting if you want to dial it I too taste, plus once you have EQ'd it and added effects it will sit really nicely in the mix. Overall, a bit of a bargain at well under £100 for a slice of classic mono synth, and 'that filter' is a lot of fun.

Great bit of kit for the price
The synth arrived on time undamaged, It's my first Synth so I have nothing to compare it to but it's built well for the price, it does what I need it to and I'm having fun with it learning along the way.

Feels slightly unfinished.
It has a very lightweight, plastic feel when compared to the Roland Boutique range, it's bigger and looks cheap. The output wobbles when a jack is plugged in. I do like the smiley on the case. :) The sound is something else. Incredibly clean bass lines consisting of a saw tooth or square wave that actually sound like a bass with the ability to slide notes or accent, you can take the sound from clean wave in to some beautiful funk sounding notes. It has real quality. The distortion is nice giving a pinch to notes rather than just distorting everything. The behringer the new bassist assist for my family of devices. :) The adapter is terrible. I have a high rise of adaptations that wobbles so badly, it's cutting power to the unit. It has to go!

Close enough sound to the original
A straight up clone of the Roland classic with a few extra modern quality of life features like usb and midi connection. It sounds close enough for my needs to the original and has an added distortion circuit built in. The sequencer remains as frustrating as it ever was but is a gold mine for happy accidents. If you're looking for an affordable way to get the 303 sound, then look no further.

Well worth the money
I already built a RE-303 and wanted something that wasn't rack style to replace my TM3030 so for the price it was a no brainer. It's a bit big for my liking, feels like a toy but really sounds good. Nearly clinched that 'sound' but not so far away from it that audibly over a system you could tell the difference. My RE-303 sounds like the TB's in the old tunes the TD-3 sounds so close. Again i think it's totally worth it, a bit whistley on the resonance and the cutoff is a bit limited on how much the filter closes but this will be sorted when i open it up. If i wasn't into building my own gear 2 TD-3's would be on my desk, the noting of sound difference isn't anything to do with snobbery, it's just an audible fact...Either way I'm keeping it, they sound great together.

Pure Acid 303 - plain and simple
First off let me say I’ve owned several 303s before and have not been satisfied with what I had, even with the Roland TB-03 or Volca nubass. I tried Roland T-8 Aira. Then I purchased the TD-3-MO ( modded out) which can do a lot more but… not the acid “squelch” I wanted. Finally resorted to buying this one without conviction. Why would the cheapest one be better than the others?? And ho boy I was in for a surprise. I paid £86 new all in with shipping. I thought I didn’t like the yellow but it’s actually really cool. The synth is very light, very plastic, but the knobs are solid and the midi and other ports are well made. I couldn’t believe the sound coming out of this! There is a clear nuance between the saw and the square wave, and the distortion on/off offers a nice way into a chorus. Much easier and straight forward than the MO. Add a little reverb and delay and you will be on the moon guys! This is a no brainer, buy it. I do not use the sequencer as I have a novation circuit which eases the pain (gate, velocity) to program but the accent knob of the TD-3 follows exactly the accentuated notes I program with higher velocity so it’s really perfect. I cannot praise this machine enough. It is amazing!! Even for low notes and building a catalyst in the background of a track it works wonders. Truely magical 🪄.

wasnt for me
It has a bunch of pre programmed sounds. If you want to make your own music, just get a more expensive one that has keys on it. I sent it back for a refund.
