I have, like, eighteen different cat brushes. That's in the neighborhood of 3 per cat. It's not that the cats like being brushed: feline opinions run the gamut from resigned acceptance (1 older cat) to outright rebellion (the other cats). And none of them are those fancy pampered long-haired varieties, so I don't have that excuse. I have one cat with a thick fur and undercoat. She's kinda oval-shaped and a tad unmotivated when it comes to exercise (or anything remotely strenuous). And as it's difficult for Her Royal Roundness to groom hard-to-reach spots (which unfortunately includes roughly 60% of her body), mats tend to form in the area of her spine, tail and hind quarters. Hence all the brushes. Most are completely ineffective at removing mats, but a few would probably work if she tolerated brushing for the amount of time it would take to do so. Which she doesn't. This brush was part of a set. I bought the set for the other brush, which looked like it might work on the mats. It didn't (it was good at reducing the undercoat, but several of the other brushes did that just as well). Might as well try this brush, though its appearance did not inspire confidence (looked more like a leaf rake than a hairbrush). Wow was I wrong. I removed five stubborn mats in about 30 seconds. Literally. I don't know who was more surprised: the cat, the mats, or me. She didn't like any of it, as the brush definitely pulls the mats from the fur, but everything happened so quickly that the mats were gone by the time she collected herself and managed an escape. TL:DR: this is the only brush I've found that will quickly clear mats from a cat's fur. It does pull (but I don't think it's painful, just uncomfortable), so be prepared for the cat's reaction.

This groomer is excellent. I normally groom my cat daily with a regular brush and comb used for humans. She enjoys it but there are places where the comb wont easily go thru which she doesn't like and she will slap me with her paw. This jaswell pet groomer went through all areas of my cat coat smoothly, even her sensitive areas like her backside and stomach she allowed me to groom with no problem. Loads of fur came off her very easily, way more then normal. She purred extra loud and loved the grooming process which left her fur looking amazing and feeling smooth and soft. She even had some dandruff under her fur which was gone after grooming with this double sided grooming tool. I believe it's because this not only grooms the surface fur, but it gets the fur underneath as well. Shes a happy kitty and I'm a happy pet mom, the grooming session was a great bonding moment for us and I'm sure I will see less of her hair around my house and on my clothes. I’ve tried lots of brushes but could never get tht dead dull hair off my Aussie. You know tht second coat. I’ve read articles about what is ok to use, and I don’t trust groomers not to get frustrated with him. He’s my baby and I don’t want anyone to mistreat him. Hate Constantly finding clumps of dead hair all over the house, and boy do these dogs shed, but they are my FAV. So when I saw this tool, I doubted it would work either. ** IT WORKED! ** It works so well tht it got his dead undercoat off so quick, in almost one brushing. It worked so well, I had to take him outside. The hair was coming out like in the advertisement. It removed so much hair I was afraid to leave it to the mower because it might stop it up. My son was shocked at the amt of hair tht came off Harley. Seriously. Harley looks and feels better. So much lighter and cooler. So much less dog hair in the house. I can’t recommend this enough. I love my doggo, he’s my bestie and I love to show him off. Goes everywhere with me. I’m so glad I found the right tool for the job. It’s so quick and easy. He likes this better than a reg dog brush. He looks so good. Best part, is Harley knows he looks good too. Highly highly recommend.

Works great on my long haired cat. He puts up with it even though it pulls. Treats and brushing works. Gets out a ton of old hair and tangles and tiny mats. He still sheds but he's a Himalayan 😹 so it's standard. When I got this used cat his coat was in terrible shape, matted and tangled and tons of old dead hair. I cut out the worst mats and with lots of brushing his coat looks and feels great. The two sided blade works great so I can brush with either hand when he doesn't want to turn the other way. Lots of treats! Lots and lots! But he lets me do it.

I don't know how it works or why it works SO MUCH BETTER than every other descending brush we have, but it does. I wish I had before and after photos, but suffice it to say this: My fiance has a husky/German shepherd mix (Rome), it is summer, it's hot where we live, we don't like getting Rome shaved because he's really reactive to clippers and loud sounds. Usually, we would do the best we could and brush him every single day from the end of March to September and still have a snow globe for a house in spite of deshedding and baths every other week. I saw this kind of brush on an add on twitter and came to Amazon to find it at a good price. This company was the cheapest I saw and I didn't care about the color of the brush, so sure. It was less than $10 and I've spent WAY more money on way dumber things, so I wasn't afraid to give it a try. Once a week. I only have to brush him once a week for a thorough 20ish minutes. I got about a basketball of fur off him the first two times and his shedding undercoat is gone. I went from brushing and vacuuming every room in the house EVERY SINGLE DAY to once a week on brushing and 1-2x week vacuuming, and even then the difference in fur I get in the vacuum is astronomically decreased. My allergies are better, my house is cleaner, and of course Rome is much happier with not having to sit in one spot away from the other two dogs every day. Nevermind how much easier it is to bathe him and ACTUALLY get him clean.

Very easy to use. Does exactly as advertised. My cat loves the massaging feeling as I comb out the under fur. Highly recommended.

Useful to remove loose hair under my cat's dense fur coat. Good build.

This strip's out the fur that the cat grows in winter, it us fabulous. Just be gentle as it works well without too much effort. Be sure to brush with the fur growth.

I have a chocolate lab that never stops shedding. This brush has been a game changer. So much hair came out with this brush. Easy to use. Love it.
