OMG! I love this bread! It's perfect, just what I was looking for. Allergies rule my world these days; I've had to make serious dietary changes due to an "aspergillus" allergy; nuts, beans, grains, etc. This bread is "okay'd" for my dietary restrictions; it is delicious toasted, and I add a little "caraway seed" on top of mine. This bread is the perfect evening snack with coffee or tea. I know two things, I'll be back for more, and I love it! Thank Organic Bread of Heaven.

I ordered this because I had never had sourdough rye before. It is a very tasty bread, and I've enjoyed it a lot. The texture is a bit dry for a rye bread, but not so much that it is a problem. The loaves are sliced, which I was not expecting, but which is OK. I would prefer loaves that are unsliced, so that I can prepare them to my own taste. But otherwise, this is a very good product.

The bread's OK, but it tastes far more like plain old wheat bread than rye or sourdough. It's also very dense and heavy, which is not awful, but I can't imagine why they don't use yeast. One slice with butter is as filling as a whole meal! I have the second loaf in the freezer, and will be using it for french toast. They seem a nice little family company, but I won't be buying this again. The shipping cost was crazy high! Guess I'll go back to experimenting with rye bread recipes and bake it myself. One caveat, folks . . . be sure to keep this bread in the fridge. It's obviously very healthy, which means the mold will adore it if you store it in your bread box.

I'm extremely disappointed. I was hoping for a treat for myself and a gift for my neighbor. I wouldn't give this to anyone and I'd never reorder. The loaves are small, but that would be OK in a tasty, lovely, artisanal bread. Not even close. The only good feature is the fast shipping. Sad.

Compare the bread color in the stock picture with the color of the real loaf we got: the slice in the middle of the picture I am sharing, surrounded by a slice of a sourdough bread from pure wheat and barley (no wheat) flours sold in a local grocery store (above) and a slice of home-baked bread from the 50%-rye+50%-spelt flour (below). Make your own conclusions about the share of the rye flour in the "Organic Bread of Heaven ~ World's Best Rye Sourdough" bread. Don't feel much sourdough in it ether. The taste is all right but not outstanding, and I bought this bread exclusively for its "sourdough rye" claim. A big disappointment. Will not buy again.
