Little but powerful. Would be good for Travel.
I purchased all 3 Tribit products, StormBox Micro, Stormbox and Maxsound Plus for my own personal self-testing. I wanted to see if all the good review were true. In comparison to the other two higher end models, this speaker is a little kick in the ass. It has a 1, 2 punch (for its size) and the sound comes off very clean. I played all different types of music racing from classical, instrumental, pop, hip-hop, rap, bass and rock. Songs played: * Dinah Jane - Bottled Up • Ed Sheeran (Camila Cabello & Cardi B) - South of the Border • Maroon 5 - Memories • Conkarah - Banana * George Winston - Variations on the Canon • Hilary Stagg - Easy Days • Guns n ' Roses - Sweet child of mine • Yiruma - River flows in you • Post Malone - Wow • Beyonce - Love on top • Cardi B - Bodak Yellow • Matisyahu - One Day • Lil Wayne - How to love • Notorious BIG - Hypnotize • Lil Waye - A Milli • Brennan Savage - To the Moon I didn't play it at 100% but at 75% it still sound clean and the speakers didn't sound like it was gonna pop. It plays more of the mids but that's fine. This is not a surround sound movie theater speaker. Although I'd love to test two of these paired up. Songs played at 75% were Sweet Child of Mine, Bottled Up and Variations on Canon. All CLEAN sounds not popping sounds. I thought I could pair up any other Tribit bluetooth speaker, but that didn't work. After several attempts It didn't pair up to the StormBox or MaxSound Plus. Another thing about the bluetooth is that I was able to control the song being played on the StormBox Micro through another Tribit speaker. When I pressed the circle on the Stormbox or the triangle on the MaxSound Plus twice, whatever song is up next in the que started playing. Sometimes also, when I play songs on the MaxSound Plus it would automatically switch other to the Micro on its own. That's why I gave it a 4 instead of 5. When I press those buttons once the current song would be played on the speaker which I just pressed the button on. That feature I thought was neat. This product is light enough in weight that I feel my child could handle it. I'd love to stick a pair on her bike and one on my scooter to test out around the neighborhood and see how far we can hear each others speakers. Especially with the outside noise. I tried playing all 3 speakers while my neighbors kids were playing in their above ground pool. They were loud, but you could still hear the song clearly at 50%. Battery seems to be good on the StormBox Micro. It has an auto shut off feature if it hasn't been playing any sounds. This is also for the case for the Stormbox. That one frequently turns itself off and I have to keep pairing. After about 20 minutes of not playing anything the MaxSound Plus is still synced while this StormBox Micro is still playing songs. The MaxSound Plus shuts off around 30 minutes of not being used. For the price and convenient small travel size I would say this is a good speaker. I will have to update how it'll sound while attached to a bike, if I get a second pair. I'd also like to test two speakers while watching an movie on the iPad outdoors. It would be convenient to have on opposite ends of the pool while the movie is up on the wall. Although, the StormBox sounds great as well, I would most likely keep this, StormBox Micro or the MaxSound Plus since I experienced bluetooth and power issues with the StormBox. The StormBox Micro is good enough for a quick day trip.

Just as good as Bose?
I was not sure what to expect from this speaker when I ordered it for under $50. I wanted something for my e-bike instead of my phone and earbuds and this speaker does an excellent job. We compared the sound of the Tribit to the Bose my friend purchased. Playing the same song on both at the same time, it was impossible to determine if one sounded better than the other. The Bose is approximately the same size and weight and I wondered if Bose made the Tribit. The Tribit straps nicely to my handlebar with the built in strap but it will rotate if needed as it is not clamped down like a bell would be. It remembers my phone connection or iPad, and even more if needed, it can connect to another Tribit for party mode or used in stereo mode. I did not see if it could do this with the Bose or only Tribits. I plan on taking it to the beach with me although I am a bit disappointed that the charge port does not have a cap to prevent dirt/sand/water from getting in. This is not an issue when on my bike but when I take it to the beach I may need to be more careful and use compressed air to blow it out before charging. I am still impressed with the sound and love it enough I may be purchasing another for my wife's bike. Lastly, I received a phone call while riding with the Tribit connected. I could not seem to adjust the volume using the Tribit or my phone so I had to disconnect the speaker. I did not have this issue while playing music from my phone which is curious and I have not investigated it further but will update this review when/if I figure it out. It is still an excellent speaker for the price point, which is the reason I purchased it and not a Bose.

A better Bose Micro in my opinion. Micro is the key word.
I dont write reviews, but when something shows incredible value and would help others I try to take the time to do so. Short version : this is a great speaker, an upgrade to the Bose micro in my opinion. Long version: I own a few bluetooth speakers, with the Bose micro as one of my favorites. Its portable, sounds great and easy to travel with. I have to admit tho, this is a great upgrade, an update so to speak to the Bose micro due to its USB-C charging port. I personally dont like the silicone material used on the Bose micro, and prefer the material on the Stormbox micro. The big question, does it sound as good? Let me make this clear: sound is subjective. What sound profile I prefer might be different from what you like or dislike. Another thing to keep in mind that this is meant to be used as a personal speaker, and not meant for a big party room. The Bose micro, compared to its other speakers in my opinion, has been subpar to their other speakers. I have the mini, the revolve and even the soundwear, but for some reason, the Bose micro sounds muffled. The Stormbox micro, on the other hand sounds clear and robust, and if you didnt tell me, I'd think this was the Bose speaker in a blind test, given its sound profile similarly found in the other models. There are bass ports located at the back, and hasn't distorted at high volumes.I mentioned the Bose micro sounding muffled, and with it laying flat on a table to utilize the bass ports makes it worse. On the other hand the Stormbox micro retains its clarity, almost similar to an omnidirectional speaker. This isn't a JBL flip 4 or 5, but it's also not as heavy or as big. There lies its strength, portability without sacrificing sound quality. Tribit did an exceptional job, similar to what Cambridge Soundworks did with their speakers back in its day. This is an exceptional speaker at an exceptional price. *edited to include comment i posted* just for reference, the other two speakers pictured are clockwise JBL Clip 3 - this was a purchase for my son, who loves his flip 4. This one was somewhat of an accessory. Soundwise, its clear, but bass was nonexistent, especially disappointing coming from the JBL family, who are known for their bass heavy speakers. Ihome IBT137 -a buy on a whim, from bed bath and beyond, again for my kid. A toy to be sunk into the tub, but played pretty well for what it was. if you dont expect much, you wont be disappointed as much either. bass is lacking. Bose Micro -Of course, the Bose micro is on the bottom right, which ive indicated my thoughts in the review. one bonus tho is that their native app, once installed, can turn on the speaker even when on standby via bluetooth. this is to be the same for the revolve, and the soundwear. sadly the soundlink mini 2 does not use the app. JBL Go2. - Dont. just hard pass. i have this one too, but man, not worth it. even for its mobility. By the way, as of June 2020, there is a coupon floating around on the web, which makes this amazingly worth the price. i bought it full MSRP, but saw it afterwards. i cant get two unfortunately, Big boss declined. =) Edited 10/06/20 Finally got a second one for 40 clams, and definitely at this point, this is a steal. on its own, its still one of the best portable speakers i carry around, both at work and out and about if needed. Setero or party mode, it was great and just added a great investment. I also recently bought the Tribit Surf, i already have a xsound go, but man, this is still the best one IMO. I love the USB-C connectivity, but the sound profile on this is definitely worth the price (especially at discounts around 40 bucks). I look forward to trying out the JBL Go 2 and Clip 5, but this is still my favorite speaker. Edit 10/13/2020 Its the final hours of prime day, this was the first thing I bought, with the $10 coupon off, and some $10 prime day money to spend. I got the orange one and was hoping to love it. It's my favorite color, but expected more of a fall, maple leaf burnt orange, but this was about 2 shades brighter. Like a Sunkist orange soda. Another thing to point out was the fabric. Unlike the standard photos it doesn't reveal how prominent the speaker holes are, and how thin the fabric felt. Nothing like the grey or black one. Plus the beige was a bit hmm... laminate flooring kind? Sorry, just wasn't what I expected. My son commandeered my first one, now wanted the orange one. Good thing this was a good bargain. Stick with grey if you can. Photos attached for reference. FWIW, I am glad my reviews are helping people. This is one of the very few I did, but its because I truly believe this is a spectacular speaker. Edit 10/20/2022 i cant believe i was able to be of help to a couple of shoppers here. i am thankful and appreciate your votes people. just wanted to update y'all. this is still my favorite speaker. i bought several to give to friends and family. did i ever buy the new one? nope. im happy with the sound signature of this one. the only two speakers i use more frequently have other specific needs. the bose flex and the anker soundcore boost. these are great speakers i use frequently, with the soundcore boost in the kitchen while the bose flex goes out and about if i needed more done. this speaker is still great. i am super happy and satisfied, despite buying numerous other 'portable' speakers, i always come home to this one.

Worked great, tested on both bicycle and motorcycle, but only getting about 70 minutes out of it
I bought this to use on my Trek hybrid bicycle. As a speaker, it sounds great, better than I was expecting, including good bass, for its size. Even tested it on my Harley Road King motorcycle. The two reasons it didn't work for me was 1) the mounting, and 2) the battery life. For the mount, the back mounting surface is flat, and so a rubber strap stretches across the handlebar to hold this in place. The strap itself is secure, no concerns with the speaker coming off, but on the 7/8" diameter polished chrome handlebars of my bicycle, the speaker kept rotating, so it was impossible to keep aimed at me for best sound. Seems like if this was meant to mount to a round bar, it would have some sort of U-shape bracket with high-friction rubber. For the battery life, the ad said 8 hours battery life. I'm guessing that's rated at like half volume, but at 3/4 volume, which is where you need it if you bike with any background noise, I was barely getting over an hour. Guessing I had a defective unit, because when I charge it, it only charges for a bit, then shuts off before the battery indicator goes all the way up. Tried it with multiple cords, and multiple chargers, same result. I saw a number of questions about whether this could work on a motorcycle, so I decided to give it a try. I've got a 2004 Harley Road King, with a windshield and an aftermarket exhaust that's probably slightly louder than stock, but not by much. Granted, not designed for this purpose, but wanted to see how much power you'd need for a motorcycle speaker. For lower speed, in-town cruising, you could hear the speaker easily over road and exhaust noise. At highway speeds, you're aware there's a speaker on, but it doesn't have enough power to overcome road, wind, and engine noise, especially if you've got a 3/4 or full helmet on (which cover your ears). But I found it decent for lower speed riding with a half-helmet (ears aren't covered). On the motorcycle, the speaker didn't rotate, likely because of the larger diameter handlebars, and the fact that there were some brake lines and a throttle cable behind the speaker, preventing it from rotating. If it wasn't for the battery life, I would have kept it for its intended use on my bicycle, and I would have figured out a way to overcome the speaker spinning on my handlebars. I likely just got a bad unit, but my review is based on the product I received. Hope this helped! EDIT 8/29/2021: Bumping up to five stars because of the great customer service! Tribit representatives reached out to me, and arranged for a replacement unit that works great.

Best small speaker available
As a self-proclaimed Bluetooth speaker enthusiast, this thing is the best at what it does. For it’s size, sound and price, the Tribit StormBox Micro is impressive. USB-C charging, fabric mesh grill, soft touch rubber back, and clicky but solid buttons. Speaker turns on and reconnects very quickly, and is quick to play/pause music. One of those speakers that impresses people with the size-sound quality ratio. Extra bass because of the passive radiator design and a clean sounding driver. Treble is good and bass is great for the size, while mids are nudged back a bit. Rubber strap on the back is a firm stretch, with a tough plastic bit that recesses into the speaker to hold on when not in use (see image). If you are looking for a bike handlebar speaker, a small speaker to bring on dayhikes, or simply want something inexpensive yet high quality, there’s currently no competition. Highly recommend. Update #1: the small tooth on the strap to keep it secured to the speaker lost its rubber coating. Does nothing performance wise, but a small detail. Also dropped the speaker twice, as it only once ‘rattled’ a possibly loose bit near the driver, but a good bump with my hand quickly fixed the unwanted vibration. Battery life is average for such a small speaker, but do keep in mind this will not suffice a full blown pool party, you’ll want something bigger and louder. For a few hikes and bikes I’ve done with the StormBox Micro, it does wonderfully.

Excellent for pairing across 2 bicycles.
I bought this speaker for doing bicycle touring with a friend. We each had one strapped to our bike and used the speaker pairing to listen to the same music in "party mode". I've done multiple several day bike tours with these speakers. Battery life: never had any issues with this. It's not as long as some of the more expensive speakers, but I've found it plenty for listening on and off throughout a day. The speaker fairly quickly turns itself off when nothing is playing to preserve battery. I wish there was a way to extend this timeout, it's kind of annoying. Mounting strap: for how simple it is, the mounting strap holds up pretty well. We took it on some bumpy rides and never had issues with it falling sideways or falling off. I suspect after years of use the strap will get too loose to use, and I plan on just upgrading to something like a Quad Lock mount when that day comes. Bluetooth: the range is ok. With paired speakers you can get around 50 feet apart before they start dropping out, so on a bike ride this means that when you're bombing down a hill is the only time the connection will drop out. When the speakers get closer together they seamlessly rejoin. Initially, I found the pairing and party mode to be frustrating, but eventually had no trouble with it. Sound: for use on a bike like this, with the speaker pointing right up at your face, it's plenty loud. Turning it up all of the way will get you louder than you probably want it. For the size, the sound quality is good enough. Outside of a bike ride, the pair of speakers is ok for listening in a social setting. You certainly can't blast this outside for a large group, or play it loud for a party setting. Waterproof: I had this thing out for many heavy rains, including one where it was playing music in the rain. After about 20 minutes of heavy rain the speaker started to sound distorted and I was worried that I ruined it, but after it dried off it was totally fine. My advice would be to skip playing it in a heavy rain, but you certainly don't need to worry about it in a light rain. Really happy with this device and hope they make another version that can pair more speakers.

Amazing speaker
This is truly an exceptional speaker that has exceeded all of my expectations. First of all, the sound quality is absolutely fantastic. The speaker is able to produce crisp and clear sound, even at high volumes. It's perfect for outdoor gatherings, as the volume can easily fill a large space. Secondly, the design of this speaker is very impressive. It's compact and lightweight, making it easy to carry around wherever you go. Additionally, it's very durable and can withstand accidental drops and bumps. The battery life of this speaker is also remarkable. I have used it for several hours at a time and haven't had to recharge it yet. This makes it perfect for long road trips or camping trips. Finally, the price of this speaker is unbeatable. It's a great value for the money, and I would highly recommend it to anyone who is in the market for a portable speaker. Overall, I would give the Tribit Portable Speaker a 5-star review without hesitation. It's an excellent speaker that delivers outstanding sound quality, durability, battery life, and value for the price.

Unbelievably Large Sound in a Compact Speaker - it's a Bose Killer
I originally purchased one speaker for outdoor gatherings. I'd been looking at Bose, Sono, JBL, and other small speaker solutions. I'd read an online professional review about how great the Tribit Speaker was in their tests. They were blown away by the price point and the massive distortion-free sound that emanated from this size of a speaker. The good: Even cranked at higher levels, this speaker pumps out a surprising amount of bass. The mids are solid and the highs are distinct. One thing to note is that no one small speaker is perfect at music reproduction, but this one blew me away for its size. Even at the highest volumes, it was clear and filled a room. We have larger BOSE speakers that don't sound this good at higher volumes I've been calling it the miracle speaker. After spending about a month with one Tribit, I purchased a second speaker for stereo sound. Much like any "smart" speaker, it can be played in party mode (same sound in any room), or you can easily switch to the stereo mode for a nice rich stereo sound. Being small, you can place the speakers anywhere and they aren't an eyesore. Are they water-resistant and made for outdoor activities? Yup! Do I use them indoors more? Absolutely. They are now on my desk underneath my computer monitors and I pump music through them all day long. As for battery life, it seems to be normal as stated in their description, but I've honestly had them plugged into a USB port to stay charged. The Bad: Bluetooth connectivity with two speakers took some getting used to when pairing two speakers for stereo or party mode on my iPhone. I finally figured it out, but it took a few times to get the process down perfectly. I kept losing connectivity on one speaker but it was definitely user error. I'd recommend they make it easier to pair the two speakers together. Add another special pairing button or something. Instead, you have to wait five seconds for a special tone, then the speakers move into party mode (if done correctly). Press the Bluetooth button on either speaker one more time, and it moves into a stereo mode (if done correctly). Honestly, my "bad" note really isn't bad. These speakers are awesome for the price point, and I'd recommend them to anyone. You won't believe the sound quality that comes out of these little boxes. Seriously. If you are thinking of buying a portable speaker, you need to seriously consider the Tribit StormBox Micro.
