Matouk'sCalypso Sauce, 26 Ounce

My husband's grandmother was from Trinidad and he is obsessed with home-made Trini hot sauce that his dad would bring back from the Island. This is the closest mass-produced item he has found to his favorite home-made recipe and he goes through a bottle every couple of weeks. We just wish it was easier to find this brand at our local stores.

Awesome hot sauce. I discovered this stuff on a trip to the Bahamas and brought a bottle back. Was able to find it on Amazon to replace the bottle I finished. Definitely has a kick to it, but also has a great taste. Doesn't take much to add some heat to your food.

I am so addicted to this hot sauce. I put it on everything. I use it in my soup bases to give them some kick. I drench my pizza in it. It's pretty up there on the spicy level... like a 7 out of 10 (10 being like burn your face off comes with stern warning spicy) so if you are looking for something medium this isnt it. I can't get enough of this stuff.

I've been addicted to this hot sauce for years, and it is one of the only truly hot sauces I have managed to find. I have an intense heat tolerance, and this habanero sauce is on fire! People who like mild spice could use just a bit. This sauce is also packed with flavor instead of it being lost in the intensity of the sting.

I eat this sauce with almost everyting. The heat does not linger more than a few seconds. Does wonders for chicken wings. More tasty than the "junk" you get in restaurants when you ask for hot sauce.My next step is to get a smaller bottle so I can travel with it.

I used to buy this sauce over 20 years ago, but I have not seen it at the store. It is one of my favorite sauces. The flavor is great! It is not as hot as I remembered though. I would give it 5 stars if it were hotter. I like mustard, so if you like mustard too I think you will like this. It is about as hot as siracha hot sauce.
