What is wrong with people?? Spoilers... Maybe
Don't get me wrong, I love Susan's books! She writes the interactions between couples how I imagine they usually progress, but I want to just get into the book and shake the characters. If they would just pull their heads out of you know where and actually talk to each other honestly they could avoid so much of their troubles. But then their books would be really short. Once I started reading this story I didn't stop until I finished it. I especially loved how the heroine had so much hidden strength and was able to tap into it when she most needed it to help the hero. I also admired how the hero took a good hard look at himself and realized he needed to work on himself to be the best he could be for his "mine". The book is a stand alone, but it is better if you have read the first two in the series prior to this one. Once again Ms. Bliler has written a winner

Spoils of War
Very, very well done! Hard to put down! I never have to wonder if the book will be good if Susan Bliler wrote it!

Fast paced read
I really like this series, but this wasn’t my favorite book. I feel like the heroine wasn’t realistic. Self sacrificing to the point of being suicidal, even though that would undo all the sacrifices she had made for the good of her packmates? In her 20s and a virgin, ok, but to not even understand the basic mechanics of how sex works? And in all other ways she’s street smart and tough and mature? It just didn’t jive to me. There was also no humor or fun in this book to take the edge off the heavy parts, little to no interaction with the WGs that would illustrate a reason she’s want to stay. Idk. It was a good storyline but the characters didn’t connect to me.

Unveiling the enemy
I thought the last book was my favorite, but I was wrong this one is. I was so caught up in the characters and the story that I was wrecked emotionally by the end. The HEA was a living, breathing entity that I just had to experience. This author has always been one of my favorites, but she has reached a new level in her writing with this book. I really hope that she gives us stories for Reign and the twins, I need to know if they find their ones. No matter what it is, I can’t wait to read the next book by this author.

Enemy Mine
Matese threw Briar emotional jabs that hurt her feelings throughout the story. He didn’t hurt her physically but was always quick to believe she had ulterior motives. His treatment of her got tiring and irritating. He’s really no better than his old pack in making her feel weak and inferior. He continued to deny his attraction even after she confessed her wants to his wolf. He also was good with taking her back to his old pack anyway he knew she was defenseless against the abuse by those crazies. He did eventually get his head on straight and fearlessly fought the whole crazy pack to save his mate.

Badass H and awesome h
I haven't read the previous books in this series, but this book was easy to follow and very enjoyable. It lost one star because of the thin and contrived reason the MC's didn't get together the first 2 thirds of the book. The H is crazy about the h, and he knows she likes him, but he denies her because...? Who knows? The h wants the H and wants to stay with him, but keeps trying to leave, because...? It's silly and contrived and irritating as heck.

Seat of my pants suspense
The blurb got me on this one. I had to find out what happened to the women with her eye swelled shut. I wanted someone to avenge her. Or help her get revenge. This was a great book, kept me hoping for the heroine to find, if not love, at least peace in her life. Nobody should have to live under the thumb of a sadistic alpha. One thing I hoped would be in the epilogue was what happened to the other 20 women help virtually captive by the alpha.

Binge-Worthy Book
I had my day whole planned out until I received notice from Amazon that Susan Bliler's Matese (Spoil of Wars Book 3) was released. So instead I spent the day devouring another great shifter romance/adventure by this author. My attention was caught on the very first page by the chemistry between Matese and Briar, and I found myself totally engaged until the last page. Their story needs to continue; I absolutely hated finishing this book. I am hoping that there will be a 3.5 novel that continues Matese and Briar's family story. It would be great to read how their wolves handle parenthood.

Really loved all the War books, my favourite out of all her books and that's saying something because I loved all of Susan's books!! Can't wait for more of this series as I want to read about Reign and the twins just for starters ☺️
