ASUS ROG Maximus XII Formula Z490 (WiFi 6) LGA 1200 (Intel 10th Gen) ATX Gaming Motherboard (16 Power Stages, EK CrossChill III, 10 Gbps & Intel 2.5Gb LAN, Triple M.2, 2” Livedash OLED, Aura Sync)

This board is great paired with my 10900K, I can do 5.1GHz on all cores with it. It has a full 16 power phase! This board worked right out of the box as well, no issues with it. If you own a Corsair keyboard though keep in mind that you need to enable BIOS mode on your keyboard to get into the BIOS. Also to turn off the LED's when the computer is off you need to go through Armoury Crate to disable them down to the firmware level. This board makes my CPU run very cool at about 40C on average for such a high overclock. Under load it reaches a max of 65C which is amazing for so many cores. I paired it with an H115i RGB Platinum AIO Cooler. Box is very well presented. This board also comes with bluetooth and Wi-Fi. It's also great that it comes with EK Water Blocks capability right out of the box for the VRM modules, you can make a custom water loop if you wish and cool the VRM's while you're at it. When you get the board make sure you check the BIOS to ensure it is updated to the latest version. This board I am using it primarily for Flight Simulation and coding and for other games. I have purchased it for the long awaited Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 that will come out shortly this year. Once the RTX 3090's appear on the market, this board, 10900K and GPU combo will be unstoppable for at least 5 years. Overall, amazing board, get it!!

This is the first time going with a ROG board, I never really believed in spending a crapload of money on a motherboard for something to play about 4 hrs a day because of work, BUT im glad I did the purchase on this! I paired it with a i9-10900k and damn does this board unlock this processors greatness out of the box. I love the CPU temp readout on the board, as I know what the temp is at all times, without having to load software. I love the RGB on this board, its out of this world how nice it is. Only Con i have is it doesnt have enough USB headers, with my Corsair Commander and Thermaltake fan controller i dont have anymore on the board, but the commander has 2 so if i have to i can plug those in there. Overall i love this board. I love the AI Suite Asus throws in to easily manage your whole computer, including overclocking within windows so you can watch your temps and voltage while ensuring stability. Although i never overclock, it could be great for that person who wants to overclock, plus the fan controller thats included is great for turning up the reservoir motor speed. If you need a good board, this one fits the bill. Pair it with any high end parts like i did with the Corsair Hydro X series Reservoir, CPU waterblock and Radiators(360mm x2) and a 2080ti with the 10900k, this pc is a beast.

Love the look of the board. Its insane because it has this OLED screen that displays CPU Temps and has flashy animations while the computer is off. The Aura glow is throughout the board. However, I really bought this board not for the looks but for the function of the EK waterblocks for the VRM. Yes you can use this board without filling or touching the VRM waterblocks but my intention of the board was to put it in a freezer and route all my water tubing to a aquarium chiller. By removing the heat from the VRMs, I have put less stress on the freezer compressor. I have owned a hero in the Z490 chipset and it is definitely a good upgrade from the hero. 100$ more is acceptable markup for waterblocks for the VRM and that fancy OLED display. Whats interesting is the two 16x PCIe GPU slots. Most motherboards drop from 16->8->4. This is 16x->16x->4X which i've never seen before. Anyways no flaws that i can see with this board. Give it a go if you intend to make a sub ambient setup.

I have owned MANY of the previous Hero and Formula boards from ASUS and have been running hard Tube Liquid for over 5 years now and this board by far is the best product yet. Temps stay extremely low and was able to achieve 5.4GZ Stable on a 10900k @ 75c max load.. Wonder results and tons of headroom.. The LCD information center is one of the best features as you don't need to run an inline monitor system anymore.. Top notch motherboard for the true enthusiast!

Great looking motherboard in addition to the fact you can work it into your custom cooling loop. The AI Overclocking makes things really simple. iCUE software reconizes the board as well which is really nice so that you integrate this with your other Corsair products. ASUS is dope what can I say...really liking their EKB line looking to get their ASUS EKB 3080 next...

I love this motherboard , I love all the features on this board too but unfortunately i recieved a defective one. Now normally getting it replaced or repaired is the what i would have done and seems like a logical thing to do. Apparently if you get an ASUS motherboard that was either made/sold/shipped outside the country w/e, ASUS in the USA will not accept it for any repairs what so ever. So i highly sugguest you either buy any motherboard directly from the source to avoid any servicing issues or make sure its being sold from Amazon themselves and not a Third-Party Seller. or if you got the dough to spend, just buy all the latest and brand new stuff out there for easier Accessible help.

If you are wanting to build an awesome, liquid-cooled gaming PC and want the best of the best, buy this board. The board is heavy, but delivers with features. ASUS has really outdone themselves with one. Don't flinch at the price of the board, because with what you get and as many features crammed onto a liquid cooled board you will have boat loads of options. I have had mine for 2 months and not a single problem. Their packaging is awesome, so if you have never bought something from ROG ASUS you will be impressed. Asus spares no expense on marketing to make your experience a good one. They have top notch packaging and once you open it you will see what I mean. Also, the manual is very in depth, so if I could give it a 6 star I would. Thank you ASUS.

This motherboard is amazing. I upgraded from the formula viii and this is a big jump. The oled looks awesome and you can make custom graphics for it. The icue aura sync is great. And the auto overclock is easy to use. Plenty of connections for all the latest gadgets.

Fantastic MOBO for the $$. Reliable and would buy again if necessary. In hindsight, if you aren’t going to liquid cool your system, get the Apex or Hero + save sum bucks.
