Gaiam Premium Yoga Mat, 6mm Thick Print Mat

I've been on a mission these last few months to find the perfect yoga mat for me, and this Gaiam is the one I keep coming back to. It's not the most expensive mat out there, but it's not exactly cheap, either. It has a really nice thickness to it that provides a good amount of cushioning, but I don't sink in or feel my feet slipping during poses. It's sticky, but not too sticky. Most importantly, it doesn't move around on carpet, which is important since the only space I have to practice in my small condo is carpeted. (I tried out a few mats that made me feel like I was trying to balance on a banana peel because they constantly moved on the carpet, so that is something that was very important to me!) It doesn't hurt that this mat is nice to look at. I love all of the colors and find them soothing to look at as I practice. I've only been using the mat for about a month, so I can't speak to durability yet. But I have used it 3 times per week since it arrived and it still looks brand new, so fingers crossed! Overall, I would definitely recommend this mat. In fact, I like it so much I'm tempted to get another one in a different color. Because I like having options to suit my mood. ;-)

I have really been enjoying this mat as part of my at home exercises. I use it for stretching and floor work like abs and glutes. It is very sturdy and provides a nice amount of padding. My knees and joints do not hurt while I am using it. The design is beautiful and the colors look exactly like they did online. It has a slightly sticky feel that helps me keep my grip during different poses. I also like how lightweight it is. It is very easy to roll up and move around the house or take with me to a class. This is a quality product for a very good price.

A beautiful and functional mat. It is very thick and soft. I am new to yoga and wanted to get something that would make my experience comfortable while I learn with my children. I find it sticky enough not to slide all over the place and it stays put on my bamboo floors just fine. The color is very peaceful and beautiful and the design is modest and really adds to the style of the mat, giving it a bit more character while preserving its simplicity. I would guess it is a bit more bulky than the thinner mats when it is rolled up, but it is not a problem for me because I don't travel much with my mat and we do yoga at home as a family. It did have a slight odor that vanished in a couple of hours when I took it out of the package. It has absolutely no smell to it now (I have had this mat for only a few days). Overall, I am pleased with the purchase and would definitely recommend this mat for any yoga lover no matter the level! I was very surprised at the price of some mats available on Amazon and online in general. This mat is priced a bit more than some of the cheaper versions I have seen online (and the reviews definitely pointed to some nasty chemicals in those mats too) and in stores, but it definitely has a higher end feel to me and it is very reasonably priced for a mat that has no harmful chemicals in it (at least according to the manufacturer and the packaging info). I hope it lasts a long time.

So this mat is beautiful (it has truly metallic/silver details) and feels great. It also comes rolled in a way that you do not struggle to keep the ends from curling up like I see a lot of people struggle with during Barre and Yoga class. I use this mat generally for Barre, and unfortunately, when I sweat at the top and I am trying to do a plank, the mat gets slippery where my hands go, and it is really difficult to keep the plank. My solution to this is I put a sports towel where my hands go. The weird thing is that the instructions that come with the mat say to wet it to make it stickier (as in give you more grip) but instead, it gets slippery if it is sweaty wet. That is why I am giving it 4 stars instead of 5, and because I found an easy solution and everything else about the mat is great. I have had much thicker mats that sure, provide more knee protection but are harder to balance on, and my gym provides knee pads (but if yours does not and you do a lot of knee exercises with weights like in Barre, I recommend buying a knee pad). It did not come with a sling but I bought a Gaiam sling for less than $10 (the navy blue ones are cheaper). It does smell a bit funny the first few times you use it (even after wiping it down) but that fortunately goes away after maybe 4-5 times. All in all, it is a great mat for Barre and Yoga.

beautiful and perfect for a normal yoga routine

I love my new Gaiam yoga mat! I recently joined a new studio and the focus is on hot yoga. I love it, but my old mat wasn't grippy enough or thick enough for my knees at this point in life, and I didn't want to have to carry my extra mat that I use at home. This mat is good quality, the perfect length and width for my 5' 5" body, and it's easy to roll up and carry to class. The cushioning is perfect; it's enough to protect my knees on a hard surface, without sacrificing grip or making it harder to carry. I use my own carry strap so I didn't need to worry about a mat that came with one. I'd give 4.5 stars if I could, only because it gets a tiny bit slippery on my hands at the sweatiest part of the workout, but I think most yoga mats will do that. Would buy it again in another color!

High quality and well made the colors of this design are gorgeous and vibrant. Got it for my twin sister and she loves it and couldn’t wait to start using it. It’s light weight but a good thickness and easy to roll and store. Perfect for stretches and yoga/pilates.

Bellissimo tappetino. Adoro il colore e la fantasia. Aderenza buona. Spesso ed versatile. Lunghezza buona per le persone fino a 1.70. Come nella presentazione. Eccelente qualità per il rapporto qualità-prezzo ottimo. E il più economico su mercato, non il massimo per praticare yoga ma è un buon compromesso se non si desidera spendere tanto. Io lo uso per yoga ma anche per esercizi.
