Excellent tent fan
This is a replacement for the previous tent fans I have had (2 Colemans of similar size), which each died after a couple of seasons' use. Because I've been very happy with a Mr. Heater tent heater, and this Basecamp fan is by the same company, I thought I'd switch brands. So far, I'm totally pleased. It works well in my large 4 person tent, blowing enough air to make it comfortable in the tent after a hot day, but doing it very quietly. I like the "hard to push" buttons, because it's unlikely it will be accidentally turned on inside the duffel bag I use for my equipment--I had to tape my previous fans' slide switches to prevent them from being turned on. The switches are also logical, with the "light" button on the bottom and the "fan" button on the top. The LED lights adequately light the tent. I'm not one who needs a night light, but for those who do, the night light feature provides a nice, dim light, just barely light enough to see. Batteries last 4-5 days of evening use of the fan (which obviously draws more current than the LED lights).I've now had this fan for a little over a year, and it appears to work as well now as it did when I first bought it. Only time will tell if it lasts longer than its predecessors, but so far, so good. I am very pleased with it.

Terrible product. Don't bother.
Please do not buy this product. Product was clunky, difficult to pack into a camping bag, takes large batteries, and after you set this contraption up in your tent? Low light and couldn't feel the fan at all (even when I hung it a few inches from my face).I currently use this product as a paperweight. It does a pretty poor job at that too.

Great unit for the price.
I am giving it 5 stars, but I really only needed it a few times during my recent one week camping trip and never even ran down one set of batteries. I had this in my tent all week (first time ever camping). I used the light more than the fan, not that it wasn't hot all day, I just didn't get in the tent during the day much. On one very hot day, I climbed into my tent to change to go shower and it was very hot, turned the fan on, changed clothes and went and showered. I got back to the tent changed for bed and turned the fan off in about an hour or so just before falling to sleep. The fan is made well and held up with all my gear packed around it and it hung well from the top of my tent for the week. The light works very well and was very bright. The fan moved the air around very well in my 2 person tent. I would say it should easily be able to handle a much larger tent without issues. I can't wait to use it again on my next trip.

Medium like
Not that powerful but moved the air in a tent over a weekend of use

Definitely helps
Fan is quiet on both high and low settings. The batteries lasted for four nights with the fan running on high (about 26 hours), which is much longer than I expected. The fan itself is light but the four D batteries do add some weight to it but still had no issues hanging it in a small tent.Doesn't move a ton of air but it does provide some circulation. You won't feel any "wind" from it any more a couple feet away. The blades a foam, which may save a bit of weight and probably helps save some battery juice but aren't going to hold up as long as plastic. The blades are also quite a bit smaller than the housing. They could have added another inch in length to them and still had room. Again I'm sure this saves the battery life but larger plastic blades would probably move as much air on low, as these do on high.Overall I'm happy with the fan but there is definitely room for improvement.

Good idea - low durability
I've owned this fan for 4 years, but only used it about 10 times. It was exactly what I was looking for, but it has not held up at all. It comes with a hanging clip built in and uses 4 D-cell batteries (essential when you're on a long trip with no ability to plug in, or recharge a built-in battery). When it has fresh batteries, it works great...The cons:- The "caribiner" at the top is built-in to the fan lid. and it falls apart when you open the fan to change the batteries - it can be tricky to get everything back together correctly. I recommend adding a dab of glue to the pieces so it doesn't fall apart each time you open the fan to change the batteries.- The "caribiner" latch broke off after the first time I used it. Knowing it was kind of fragile, I was careful not to break the remaining part of the plastic hook.- on a recent trip, we added fresh batteries to the fan and turned it on. It worked great for about 10 seconds then stopped (but you could still hear the motor running). After investigating, I found that the fan blades were no longer attached to the motor shaft. It worked fine if you pushed the fan head back on to the shaft, but immediately came apart again when you turned the fan over to hang it. So, now the fan could only be used by setting it on its side in the tent (we were in the woods and I did not have glue or tools). The main feature of this fan is that it hangs up out of the way and blows air down into the tent - now that doesn't work. I had planned to try to fix this until...- my kids broke the remaining plastic "caribiner" hook. As I mentioned above, the fan had to be set on it's side on the floor to work, so the fragile plastic hook got broken.I like the idea of this fan a lot, but it's cheaply made and it didn't hold up. Even though I've owned it for years, I've only used it a handful of times and now it's trash. I recommend looking elsewhere for a good tent fan

Tent Fan! Nice fan that must face down and be hung from above.
Fan appears to be very well designed and built. Will be using it for the first time in a few days and may revise this review but I have confidence in the overall design and build. The nightlight appears too bright for my tastes but I can easily tape over the LED lights to dim the visual output. There are 3 light modes. The first is a bright cool white LED in the center of the fan, the second is a dimmer version of the same LED. The third is the nightlight, consisting of 4 amber LED's that surround the main white LED, so they can be covered up a bit without affecting the main White light.... Fan output is ok on high, and buzzes SLIGHTLY. Low is more quiet. I just wish the blade were an inch bigger for more airflow, but it's not bad at all.

Great value
Love this for tent camping in summertime, fan is fab. Would be nice if there was an even fainter light setting (there are 3) but still great.

Misnamed
This not a heater, it’s advertised as a tent heater. It’s a fan with a light nothing more.

This is NOT a heater. This is only a fan with a light.
I bought this with the brand name Mr Heater and this product is not a heater. 🤬

Amazing!
Been using this for a few camping trips lately since I got a fairly large tent. It circulates the air nicely and lights it up beautifully! No complaints from me!
