Top Gun – 4K Ultra-HD [Blu-ray] [2020] [Region Free]

Awesome film, you should definitely watch the original first as it will make this one more enjoyable and you won't miss any references

If you want jets flying around your living room then this is the film for you, plus its got a great sound track. Can't believe no one has seen this film so in that case this is the best your ever going to see the film to date, 4K looks awesome and as far as sound goes you better get on well with your neighbours. No 4K collection should be without this film.

I have owned this film on several formats over the years and I can say this 4K UHD Blu Ray release is the best to date. The picture is fantastic but it is the new Dolby Atmos soundtrack that is the star of this release from the Ariel dogfights to the music soundtrack also the speech is crystal clear. There's a couple of new extras on the 4K disc but it's the movie you will be buying this for well worth an upgrade from the standard Blu Ray.

Ever since the days of VHS i have used 3 films to test /show any AV equipment i have. they are Terminator 2, Top Gun and Star Wars. I have brought Top Gun on every format. Vhs, CD I, Laserdisc, DVD, Blu Ray, BD3D, and now 4K. Each of them have been a improvement on the previous version and when i purchased the 30th anniversary edition on Blu Ray it was amazing the colours were better and the grain was almost gone, it was like watching it for the first time. About 2 years later i decided to purchase the 3D version and it was a bit of a let down, not because of a poor Transfer or sound it was the picture, it had gone back to the grainy, poor colour of the previous versions. When it was announced that there was going to be a 4K restoration i was very interested and i watched out for the reviews and they were all good. I should have looked out for the language the reviewers were using. It was a 4K transfer from the actual film stock giving you a picture as good if not better than on its day of release. I was surprised that when the film arrived it was the same grainy version, now that it not to take away from the 4K transfer there was a slight improvement on the clarity and dolby atmos made a big difference in the sound. I know that there will be some purists out there who dont like their films to have DNR but sometimes it can enhance a film and i have heard reviewers on youtube moan about the 30th Annv edition saying it dosn't look like Top Gun.

Purchased also on DVD for my granddaughter who has a portable player. Considered by many an 80's clasic, certainly a favourite we see skilful fighter-pilot Tom Cruise as LT Pete "Maverick" Mitchell, recommended to further his career along with co-pilot 'Goose' (Anthony Edwards) as potential 'Top-Gun' at the Naval Fighter Weapons School at Naval Air Station Miramar. It doesn't take long for there to be love-interest for Maverick in the shape of Kelly McGillis as Charlotte "Charlie" Blackwood who he met at a club, however, Charlie turns out to be one of the instructors at the school....complications ahead ? At the school Maverick has a rival for the accolade of being the number one, Val Kilmer as LT Tom "Iceman" Kazansky. Things will eventually become more real for the pilotsT when a number of them including Maverick and Iceman become involved in a serious incident that will threaten life itself. A superb watch with good action sequences 4K upgrade superior in picture quality than on the Blu[ray format

Sounds great with an atmos setup. Picture is very good although it is an 80's film its never gonna be the finest 4k. A must have for any collector.

Awesome now it's in 4K HDR & DOLBY VISION with a DOLBY ATMOS soundtrack.. The effects are amazing the planes actually feel like they're flying overhead. The explosions will make any subwoofer shake the room. This is a movie everybody should have in their collection. For those who like grain in the movie.. There's just the right amount of grain onscreen Paramount have done an amazing job with this 4K update. Buy it..

Great film. The 4K gives it the best picture possible. It’s got a bit of grain in it but this is the best picture you ate ever going to get. The uniform are brilliant white and it looks like it was made yesterday in most parts. Soundtrack is amazing.

One of the least 'mature' military movies ever. But that's definitely part of its charm. Well filmed, great music, guys in their prime, suspenseful action. Surprisingly, the Dolby ATMOS soundtrack didn't translate well on my SONOS Arc + Sub. Hence the 4 stars.

Der Film ist ja bekannt. Aber was da an Bild und Ton rausgeholt wurde , ist enorm. Ich habe die 4k Version. Für Fans sehr zu empfehlen.
