Can I combine 2 of these into 1 bigger cage?

Unfortunately these habitats are not at all suitable for even a hamster let alone a dwarf hammy. They need at least 600sq in of unbroken floor space along with at least 6 in of bedding. You’d be better off getting a 60gallon breeder tank and up or a plastic bin that fits the measurements. Bigger hamsters need at least a 12 inch wheel otherwise they injure their backs. Dwarf hamsters should have 8-10. You’ll wanna get the mazuri mouse lab blocks, they’re the best diet in the block form and the sunburst seed mixture cause it has seeds and nuts that are good for them. Before getting any rodent you should probably join a facebook group for that animal to get the best advice possible. Learn about what they need and what they like, especially if you’re getting a female hamster cause they are NEEDY lol

How big is the tray in highet? 2 inches?

Since I returned the cage I am not sure how high the tray is. I'm sorry. It might be a little higher than 2".
