Wow, a great piece of garden/landscape gear. Easy to use with plenty of power.

Update: used a lot over past month. Excellent for trimming thorn plants like raspberries and blackberries without getting arms scratched up. Used to clean up shrubs and they look great. Battery lasts for any project we have worked on. Neighbor borrowed and really liked how it works. Every once in a while it will not open when trying to operate. Oil and pull on cable to loosen up. Easy fix. Update: trimmed several trees then used the tool to cut into smaller size branches. The battery lasted the entire project. The tool is easy enough to use even for someone smaller. I have a number of different tools by this brand which have held up over time. Just arrived and tried it out on my plum, apple, and apricot trees. Also tried on plum shrub. One battery lasted trimming all four trees. Overall first impression this will be a great tool to have on hand.

It didn’t do what I had hoped to do, but it wasn’t designed to do what I had hoped to do; however, it did everything it was designed to do. This has to be one of my best purchases ever. Of course I have loppers. I have loppers with regular handles as well as loppers with extended handles but when doing yard work, what seems to be a small job quickly turns into a much bigger job and this Cordless Ryobi Lopper has already paid for itself, and I’ve only used it for 15 minutes. Now, if Ryobi would just make one that could cut a 2 inch branch, I would be in love. I have an electric chainsaw that cuts the larger branches with ease, but I’m thinking I may look into their cordless chainsaw. Anyway, back to this item, it is very easy to use. It does a fantastic job and I really don’t see how anyone can be disappointed. And, as for the seller, they shipped it immediately. In fact, I received my purchase about three days earlier than estimated.

When my husband bought this, I rolled my eyes at one more Ryobi tool he had to add to his collection. That is, until I had to clear a fence line from invasive Asian honeysuckle and myriad other foliage. What makes this awesome is that you can stick it through the goat fence to get to the stuff on the other side without having to lean over the top barbed wire with a regular set of loppers and try to get adequate leverage all while trying not to slice yourself a million times. You do have to be careful to not cut the fence, because yes, it will cut through that wire like butter. It also can down take branches that are like 1.5" in diameter. There's no way in H E double hockey stick that I would be able to take an inch diameter branch with a regular lopper. Now, it is much heavier than said regular lopper so you will still be getting your arm workout hauling it around but boy did it make my life easier! Well, the fence clearing part of it anyway.

It's limited to branches 7/8" which is the largest its jaws will admit, so you also need a good reciprocating saws all - the Ryobi is excellent. I've ordered a hedge trimmer as well.

I love it!

Product is good quality, works well on fairly large branches and is long enough to reach branches well over your head. There are two things about this product that cause me to rate it a 3. First it is heavier than expected so using it for extended period of time is difficult. The worst thing about it is the safety knob!!!!! I am all for being safe but seriously the safety knob is extremely hard to hold down while using the product. Even if I take off my working glove I struggle with the safety knob. My husband totally complains about the safety knob too!

Bought this for my wife as a birthday present. She loves it. If you can get the jaws around the branch, it will cut it. Marvelous tool.

Ich suchte eigentlich eine Akku Teleskop Astschere fand aber nichts passendes und bin dann auf die Ryobi OLP 1832 BX gestoßen. Der Korbus besteht wie bei Ryobi gewohnt aus Kunststoff die Aufnahe der Schneideinheit scheint meiner Meinung nach ein Alu Guss zu sein. Das Messer und Gegenstück Metall. Das Gerät schneidet wie angegeben bis zu 32 mm gut durch. Bei sehr ausgetrockneten Ästen blieb sie ein paar mal stecken aber nach einigen nachsetzen schnitt sie dann durch. Ich habe das Gerät bisher nicht im Dauer Einsatz gehabt und kann somit bis jetzt noch nicht sagen wie es um die Haltbarkeit des Messer steht? Mein Fazit bis her : wer sich nicht sehr anstrengen möchte für dem ist diese Astschere ein sehr gutes Gerät.

The best garden tool I never knew I needed. It is simply wonderful dealing with clumps of bamboo. Gets in to cut the stems where it's impossible to use ordinary loppers because the handles can't open in the bamboo clump. And afterwards, cutting it into short lengths to dispose of it the lopper can handle several stems at once. Perfect around the rest of the garden for my partner who doesn't have the strength to use ordinary loppers. I can use it one handed. Easiest to use for long periods below shoulder height, but fine for shorter jobs or with rests above if using it above. When it wears out eventually, I will definitely get another one.
