I `ve never done my own acrylic nails . I used to grow my own nails, and then I progressed to having them done at salon when my health issues did not allow my nails to grow nicely , and that got to be expensive. I first tried the DIY Cornstarch Nails, and that proved to get messy, and so time consuming considering the wear time, plus other issues. I found a great Youtube Instructor/Influencer ( Natali Carmona) , and she used Mia`s Secret more often than not. I decided to go with this kit because it seemed to have everything I would need to start out. I am so happy that I did ! Much easier than buying everything separate, and also gives me a clue to what I need in the future. I found that the monomer and powder may only be enough supply for maybe 2 sets - so I did take tips from other reviewers and purchased larger quantities of each before even using the kit. I used everything according to the kit instructions , and taking the Youtubers advice and instructions. I found the monomer and powder went on pretty smoothly. I totally tried to take my time, and though a few times I went in too wet ( longer dry time on those nails ) , I had`nt had a problem with glumps, or bumps, dribbling , or crumbles. I had minimal filing and buffing nail after the acrylic was set. The primer and top coat is effective , the brush is satisfactory (although I purchased a back up ) , I like that it came with block and a file . I have not used the tips yet, as I had a box already . I will use next time, or keep for extra supply. The powder is "clear" with minuscule of sparkles. I was looking at my nails after wards, and thought I saw "sugary" teensy bumps, but my nail was smooth, it must have been the sparkles ?? I love to wear polish , so not an issue to me. For a 1st timer, I thought it went well. I strongly advise if a first timer, to follow instructions closely. My nails are not perfect, as photo shows, but I am very pleased with this item, and the outcome ! I usually wear my nails in oval, ballerina (coffin) , or stiletto shape - but just went with rounded square for my first time as I did not want to mess up this first time application - I will experiment on another set :) I recommend this items !

This is a nice little kit for beginners as well as more experienced nail artists. I got this kit because I misplaced some of my items including my brush and needed something quick. I was a little unsure about purchasing due to some of the negative reviews but I decided to take a chance. My kit arrived on time and complete. It was exactly as described. Everything was new and packed well. Product was easy to work with. I’ve had my set on for two weeks although I have to say I didn’t use the tips. I used nail forms that I purchased separately. The brush is a basic beginner brush and though it’s a little on the cheap side it was still very easy to work with. I had no problems with it and it’s still in great shape. Just make sure to take good care of your brush and that you are constantly cleaning and wiping it as you do you nails so you don’t get any acrylic stuck to it. Also prep it with monomer before you use it especially the first time because these brushes always come with a hard layer to protect them. Just dip it and wipe it until that layer is gone and the bristles are more manageable. It would definitely recommend this kit.

I’ve always wanted to learn to do my own nails. I’ve had my eye on Mia secrets products but i didn’t want to spend a bunch of money when I didn’t know what I was doing. First things first, if you’d like a video tutorial, check out Long Hair Pretty Nails review on this kit on YouTube. She is very knowledgeable and informative. Second these products are really good quality. The acrylic powder is really nice and East to manipulate. The glue is phenomenal! Now on to the primer, dehydrator, and monomer. Listen, I had to crack open two windows, cut in two fans and a ceiling fan. This stuff is POTENT! I’m surprised I didn’t pass out. So keep that in mind. The thing about this kit that kept me from giving it 5 stars is the brush. Man this brush was so flimsy and cheap. They didn’t give you enough monomer and if you aren’t careful you can thicken your monomer up with powder. I’m assuming this problem was on my part. So be mindful, especially since these bottles are so small. Overall good starter kit and the tutorial o mentioned helps a lot. My nails feel secure

The reason why I decided to purchase the mia secret kit is because I was using the kiss brand over the counter kit and I had a major issue with lifting and subsequently nail fungus. I was trying to be cheap and just purchased the drug store kit without any primers. It didn't work so well. So I decided to upgrade and I bought this kit along with the mia secret nail prep. I got a tell you I love it. The kit came exactly as described. Yes the bag is cheap but so what. It's just a bag. I read in other reviews that their glue was all dried out. My glue was just fine. You may read in other reviews that the quantity is too small. I must admit I do have quiet a bit of nail experience so for me the quantity was more than sufficient. If you are a first time, home nail doer, and you are not familiar with portion control of the product (brand doesn't matter) then you may find you will have a bit of waste at your product won't last as long. But just to give you an idea of the quantity, when I received my product I was able to do a full set overlay on my natural nails, which are usually kept at medium length. After the overlay I have been giving my self a fill every 2 1/2 weeks. With this kit I have been able to do 1 full set and 4 fill ins and I am just now at the point where I need more monomer (which can be purchased separately) I still have plenty of everything else. I do have to admit that in the past 2 months I have had 5 nails lift on me near the cuticle (lots of house cleaning without wearing gloves and a few trips to the beach) but I just glued the edges down and because I used the nail prep, no fungus growth after gluing them down. So I'm not going to complain. Overall I am very pleased with the product. Where else can you get a full set of nails and 4 fills for less than $30 total? I would definitely recommend this product.

I wouldn’t say this is for beginners. The packaging for this isn’t cute or glamorous, but the product is really good quality. I used other similar products and they didn’t work as well. This comes with all the necessary liquids and polishes. The bottles could be a little bigger because some run out really fast only after one or two uses (specifically the liquid to mix with the powder). I’m satisfied with this and happy with the results.

I love it. I have never done this before, this was my first time doing acrylic myself. The glue works just fine, in the instructions it says to hold for 10 seconds I found it dries faster than the 10 seconds. This is a very high quality acrylic powder so it works really fast it even says that in the description because of that it takes minimal filing which is really amazing for me I didn't even have to use my Rotary as much, I used the hand filer more. I did not use the brush that came with due to some of the reviews saying to get a different brush so I did the 10# Kolinsky brush and because this powder is fast it has Superior adhesion, self-leveling polymer that requires minimum filing the formula is Clarity and strength, so the brush got hard quickly so just be sure to keep it wet as I researched what to do when that happens. I also use the high gloss top coat that it came with, on one hand and two different top coats on the other hand and found that the one that came with was better definitely good quality, everything seemed to work extremely well. Definitely worth trying and definitely worth the money. I would recommend this to my friends I'm even going to do my friend's nails.

I am fairly new to doing my own acrylics. I have tried the dip powder and then the acrylic set similar to this one both by Kiss before trying this kit. I have also tried one other kit that was more of a generic brand here on amazon. This one is my favorite. The brush is meh, it's not great, that is one area where kiss nailed it. The file is great, the acrylic has lasted me over 2 weeks when I don't fill and then it still took some time to work the nails off. Other brands, the nails usually start popping off in about a week and a lot of time they aren't safely able to make it to the fill stage without risk of fungus because they start lifting in areas so much sooner than the Mia Secret. The Mia Secret liquid monomer is not my absolute favorite (the powder is what is amazing) but still good. It is just a little less beginner friendly than some other brands. Not bad, just takes a smidge more finesse to really get that perfect bead consistency but after a few trials you will get it. Considering the price, it is worth it to get yourself a couple brushes you can use once this one goes caput. Highly recommend

I bought this item with my own money, no one paid me to write this review. I am not a licensed nail tech yet, I do my own nails and some for friends and family only. For a beginner this product is amazing, the instructions are helpful and detailed. This was my very first kit and I believe its 2 years later already I keep buy product by Mia Secret I absolutely love it. I thought it would be hard to work with but it wasn't Acrylic powder is very smooth and easy to handle an it is very clear transparent its the only one I use it looks like glass, the liquid is strong but as long as you have a good ventilated area and use a mask you should be fine.The primer love it the acrylic adheres great on the nail if applied right my sets can last up to 3 or more weeks without lifting make sure to close it right =. The brush is great as well for a beginner right size and everything make sure to remove the glue that are on the bristles before using it. The file and buffer are great as well make the filing and buffing easy to shape the nail. Overall its a great product and I do recommend it you can't go wrong with this kit, its perfect for a beginner.

Haven’t used it yet but when I opened it everything came as described. I’m really loving the emery board. Can’t wait to use it this weekend :)

Came with everything needed except curved nail clippers and brush cleaner but managed without them. You will need more nail tips long term.

During the beginning of covid this set was $80. I feel ripped off now that its $60 but it’s not a bad set. I just now started to use it a year later and I’m not mad at the results. The picture I’ve attached is of my first ever set I did on myself :)

This package had taken a while to get here and when it did I could smell leaked out product from out side the box. When I opened it the lid of the dehydrator was off completely and the product had gone everywhere.

Brush is too large for beginners, and clumped so badly that I actually had to cut it out even after cleaning. Also found a bit more monomer would be handy...other than that, good products. Used it on my big toe, which had been broken down the middle and thus presented a challenge to hide especially during summer lol...worked great, no stinging (acid burn), and easy to apply.
