Picture for this item reads 10 stay-fresh pouches, l.06oz ea but the item description says 5 pack 1.06 oz. Do you get 5 or 10 1.06 oz pouches?

You get 5 packages, each package containing 10 - 1.06 oz pouches. So you get a total of 50 - 1.06 pouches. I hope this clarifies this.

Why has this product become so scarce?

Perhaps because it is made in Thailand.

is they entire package weighing in at 1.06oz? Or is each small "pack" weighing 1.06 oz each?

Each bag is 1.06 oz. We have three cats, one likes it, but nothing special. The other two go absolutely crazy for it.
