Do I need the previous versions of this game in order to play this one?

No, this is a standalone game, Wings of Liberty and Heart of the Swarm are not required.

My computer doesn't have a cd reader. If I purchase this can still download the game off the site and just punch in the CD key?

No you don't need the cd. bnet acts like steam, if you're familiar with that. The CD acts more of a pre-loader of essential files so that you'd only download updates after whatever version is on the cd. If you just enter the cd key into bnet after setting up an account you're pretty much set and can download the installer from bnet any time.

By preordering the physical copy will I get a code so I can play on release day while waiting for my physical copy?

Generally pre-orders arrive the day of release. Mine shipped today (Sunday 11/8/2015) and should arrive Tuesday 11/10/2015.
