They work.
Our countertop ice maker died. The logic for filling the ice bin is if ice isn't at the top then make another round of ice. An IR LED transmits to an IR receiver for that circuit to work. Our IR transmitter burned out. Purchased and handful of transmitters and receivers and found a combination that worked. The LEDs showed a high degree of functionality in Brightness and Detection. A few dollars instead of $180 for another ice maker...that's what I call a high value for they money.!!

Worked great both as replacements for failed remote and as a tester
These worked great as replacements for the failed IR LEDs in my Philips CD-I remote. They also worked great as a remote tester - just connect a multi-meter set for voltage to one of these, point a remote control at it and watch it charge from the transfer of light from the remote to the LED. Pretty cool.

Great for IR blasters
These LEDs are great for sending IR codes from a raspberry pi with lirc . Tested with a Whynter portable air conditioner and a Samsung TV. No missed signals at a distance of 10 ft, and I didn't have to mess with aim too much - as long as it's pointing in the general direction it seems to work fine.

Draws 20 mA at 1.30 volts
I doubt this is the Vishay TSAL6200. Looks nothing like the pictures of the Vishay. Diode test on my multimeter revealed a voltage drop of 1.124 volts. At 1.30 volts it was drawing only 20 mA and not anywhere close to 100 mA.

Miss leading for someone looking for Visible light LED low voltage.
