Favorite syringe-type pump thus far!
I have purchased quite a few of tools like this ranging from 'syringe'-type pumps such as this tool to inline-type pumps and screw-on pumps and so far this has been my favorite one. This is for a few reasons, but most of all because the unit clamps down on the hose and locks it in place. This is extremely useful when dealing with more viscus fluids like gear oil. All the other tools I've used don't have this feature and if you apply too much force (which, to begin with, can be difficult with some tools) the hose pops off due to the transference of pressure and you end of spraying fluid everywhere. In addition to the locking hose it is very easy to apply force through the plunger with everything working extremely well. I just changed the fluid in a differential and it made quick work of filling the unit back up. The tool is very well constructed as far as I can tell with graduated markings on the working portion of the tube. My only gripe is the total capacity is fairly small, but this can be adventageous as well as some of the larger tools are considerably less wieldy. In addition to this the included manual provides the part numbers for the consumable parts (i.e. Plunger seals) which should be useful if you plan on keeping the tool for a long while. One of the issues with these types of tools is the dealing with different types of fluid and preventing cross-contamination. This tool disassembles easily for cleaning, but if you regularly fully clean the tool your accelerating the rate at which the seals will fail. Being able to procure replacements is key in the long run. The next job I plan on tackling with the tool (and original reason I bought it to be honest as I have other pumps I can use to fill transmissions/differentials as I had previously mentioned) is pulling the brake fluid out of my brake calipers so I can change them. Hopefully the size of the tube and what have you accommodates my bleed valves and there is enough volume to properly pull the fluid out.

Used for front differential
This worked well to suction out some of my front differential, I probably needed a smaller diameter tube to get all of it out.

Good little unit.
Works well.good suction, and easy to disassemble and clean. Everyone should have one in their toolbox.

Worked on my 2014 F150 Front Differential
I purchased this to help suction fluid out of my 2014 F150 4x4 front differential. I suspect this will work for 2009-2021 trucks, as I believe it's the same 8.8 front end (excluding the Raptors of course). Doing this job (on this specific truck) is kind of a pain because you can't fit a standard 5/8ths hose down to the bottom of the front diff (at least with 3.73 gears, due to the ring gear bolts). I purchased this tool because of the low price, and the thin hose attached, which I thought would give me enough clearance to get it in there. This tool worked fairly well. No problem with suction at all. It pulled about 2 quarts of 100k mile 70w-90 gear oil out of my front end without a problem; it did take several suck/squirt cycles though. The only downside is the attached hose is a bit short, so I was only able to remove ~90% of the fluid, but not a huge issue. Filling the diff was not a problem, and went much quicker than extraction. Good tool to have on hand. It's plastic, but it has suction, and will get the job done for a shadetree mechanic.

Well Made, Simple to Use, Very Effective on Small Jobs
This pump is well made and I am glad I purchased it. As I see it, I can find a lot of uses for this hand pump (generally small liquid volume removal and insertion jobs). I dropped a star from my rating because I think the plastic hose is unnecessarily short. I think is should be 12" long instead of 7.5" ± .25". The tube does not even reach the bottom of my lawn mower engine's crank case. I am currently working up a solution by adding an extension to the original tube so I am confident this tool will soon do the job I hired it for. The alternate way to drain the oil is to tilt the mower on its side and see how big a mess you can make. But then my use of this tool is outside the intended use so some required creativity was expected. Recommended because it's quality made and has many uses!

I'm glad I chose this one.
I bought this one after reading the reviews of the other suction pumps on Amazon and I'm glad I did. (Be sure to read to the end of this review because it has information about usage that some may not know.) This is a very heavy plastic. In fact, it's stronger and better made than any metal ones that I've seen. The plunger shaft is thick aluminum or steel and it has two plunger seals. There is no leakage of pressure at all. The rear cap with the plunger can be very easily removed and it seals perfectly when in place. One of the really nice features of this suction pump is the way the hose locks into the pump so you never have to worry about it pulling off or blowing off when you use the pump to fill things. And that brings me to something that some who have this pump may not know. You push the hose into the end of the pump and it is locked into place automatically similar to the way a Chinese finger trap (also known as a Chinese finger cuffs and other names) which you may have had as a child. Oddly, there are no instructions with this pump. Normally, being such a simple device, that's no problem and you would think it's just common sense. But what some people may not know is that the hose is inserted into a quick connect in a similar manner to some modern quick-connect plumbing connections. What this means is that you can remove the hose easily if you need to change or replace it or just want to remove it for storage. The way you do it is you pull back on the blue plastic collar that the hose inserts into. It's spring loaded and it will move slightly and, when it does, the hose can be pulled out easily By pulling back, I mean you pull the blue plastic collar back towards the suction pump body itself. This is important because you can then change hoses if you need a longer one for some purpose. In fact, I think I may have to use a longer hose than the one that came with the pump so that I can reach into the bottom of my transfer case on my truck to suck out the old oil before replacing it. If you want to change hoses, remember that you have to get a hose with the same outside diameter to lock into the quick connector. Also, consider how thick the walls are of any hose you may use. If the walls are too thin, it may collapse under suction pressure. If it's too thick, it may not be flexible enough for the purpose you may use it for so just choose any hose replacements wisely. One other thing: There is nothing on the box or insert (just warranty information) that even mentions that this can also be used to pump liquids rather than just suck liquids. But it serves both sucking an pumping applications. This is a great suction and fill pump! I'm very happy that I chose it over other options. Buy with confidence.

Buen producto.

Quality is top notch
Used it to do a power steering fluid change through the reservoir. It works quite well, but is a little low on capacity for most things. The low capacity does make it a lot easier to draw in the fluid compared to my 1.5L one which requires much more strength.
