Yes, the Wisdom Panel dog DNA tests are able to detect bully breeds quite accurately; the important thing to keep in mind is that some bully breeds, and especially the American Staffordshire Terrier, are extremely diverse. This means that there are many different family lines and a huge range of acceptable weights (from 35 pounds to 135 pounds!) depending on breeder preference. In fact Wisdom Panel has identified so many different strains of the American Staffordshire Terrier that they have created multiple distinct genetic signatures for the breed and it is one of the most commonly found breeds in shelters and in the US today.
