Great, inexpensive protection for oxy-acetylene cutting...great fit and fashionable, too
These are my go-to glasses for quick cuts. They work well and are fashionable enough to wear on super bright days driving into the sun. I highly recommend them as they stay put and protect well your eyes. Great value and I don't have to deal anymore with junky elastic bands that don't last long and become extremely annoying when the elastic fails and you're forced to tie them to your head to keep them in place.UPDATE: Just bought another pair for shopin addition to pair I bought for service truck. Really like these for oxy cutting...not so much driving though (prefer normal sunglasses) as they're really so dark it's difficult to see other than driving directly into the sun. If anything fogs, put some Cat Crap on the lens.

Great sunglasses for people with photophobia!
i am not a welder, I'm just somebody with extremely light sensitive eyes. This is especially annoying in a climate where there's snow on the ground half the year: snow + sun = I can't see at all. When I go skiing, I am either squinting or have my eyes closed--which makes it kind of hard to ski! In the summer when the sun is crazy bright, I have the same problem. I have sunglasses made for glacier travel, and they're better than other sunglasses, but still not dark enough for me.SO glad I stumbled on the idea of using welding glasses in place of sunglasses, because it is a game changer. For most people, these lenses would probably seem too dark and too green to use as sunglasses, but for me they are AMAZING. As I type this, I'm sitting in a room with big windows and there is sunlight reflecting off the snow outside. Without the glasses on, I can barely keep my eyes open. With the glasses on, I can sit in here comfortably and still see the computer just fine to type.As an added bonus, these look and fit like regular wrap around sunglasses, so I don't feel conspicuous in them. They also have foam on the top edge of the lenses, which really helps keep the light from getting in. They fit well on my face (which is on the wider side) and don't slide down my nose. (For those who need to know: the temple width is 140mm.)The only thing I don't like about them as sunglasses is the green tint, but if I had to, I would happily take 5 times as much green if it meant my eyes get to be as happy as they are in these. Which is to say, that's a pretty minor complaint.I suspect it's not legal to drive in these, which is too bad, and somewhat ironic, since I can see much better when my eyes are OPEN and not squinting! If you're light sensitive and regular sunglasses haven't worked, give these a try!

5-oh shades are light, comfortable & convenient
The 5-oh welding shades are convenient and comfortable. Personally I would never use them for welding being only #5 tint. I use mine for plasma cutting and grinding. The shades are way more convenient than a helmet or a shield. When you’re not using them they fit snugly on top of your weld cap safely out of the way. IMO they look badass too.

Dark Sunglasses is what I use them for
It is hard to get dark sunglasses and I even have a pair of Oakley Sunglasses that are very nice but not near as dark as i like, so most of the time I wear these. They work wonderful especially when driving down the highway toward the sun. Now they have quit a green tint that takes out a lot of color and if it gets cloudy you might need to take them off but hey these as so nice when it is bright out. They have a nice narrow pad around the eyes and I can use them with the touch at work if need. I highly recommend them. And like another guy said, they look pretty cool too, kinda like Cyclops shades from X-men.

Well worth it
So glad I got my husband a pair . He just had an issue with his helmet and got an eye injury.. these definitely did the trick . Perfect for tight spaces where a helmet can’t be worn .

fits like other wrap around sunglasses and stylish
I'm using this for my plasma cutter. They give a green hue when cutting with the glasses on. They are dark enough to protect my eyes but when the arc strikes, I'm able to see the line I've drawn.I like that since they are glasses, I can just tilt my head down to see with my naked eye before i cut, then move my head back up to initiate the arc. Too bad I can't use these for regular glasses b/c they are pretty neat! The unit ships in a plastic container that you can continually open and close. I keep these glasses in that plastic container as a type of 'case' and put it in my welding cart.

Great for photosensitive epilepsy
I have a rare form of photosensitive epilepsy called Sunflower Syndrome, I bought these glasses with the hopes that they would block out whatever light waves from natural sunlight trigger my epilepsy. They have been absolutely life-changing! Whatever light these glasses block, it is exactly the light that was causing me problems! I can now go outside with just these glasses and enjoy the day without any problems from the sun!! The only downside is that these glasses make everything pretty monochromatic (they take the red out of everything), but SUCH a small price to pay to get my life back! I drive in them, I see everything just fine, so they are not too dark for everyday use. So so grateful I found these, and comfortable too.
