Very Comfortable Saddle! (Big Guy Review)
Amazing saddle! Bought for my Peloton + Bike & another one for my Road bike. The width & length are perfect. Cushioning is just right, not too plush but still has enough to feel comfortable! I'm 6'3 240 for context. I love that the saddle contours down towards the nose of the saddle. So my perineum isn't getting crushed. I've tested out the WTB Koba & Volt (Wide Version) saddles but they were still too narrow for me. The cushioning wasn't much of a problem but the width was killing me. This saddle definitely beats both the WTB Koba & Volt saddles because one it gives your more width in sitting area, two the foam in this saddle is more comfortable but not overly cushioned which is what I love & three it's a longer length so you can change ride positions with ease. The WTB Koba is about a whole 1 inch shorter than this saddle. Volt is about 1/2 an inch shorter. I tested the ERGON Men's SMC Saddle as well but it was a bit too firm for me.

Seat make butt happy
Night and day difference. Zero numbness or discomfort on first hour ride. The seat my bike came with was horrible. Funny how you spend thousands on a bike and they still can't get a decent seat but this made my bike enjoyable to ride again.

Solves butt discomfort
This saddle works as advertised to minimize or even eliminate butt pain. I'm an older rider on a gravel tire bike and the local shop told me that many riders are finding this saddle the solution to painful rides. I bought one from that shop and another from Amazon for another bike. I usually position saddles level and found this saddle worked best for me if the front was lowered a little. And for some reason I cannot quite find the right position in the saddle when I first get on but it seems to feel right after 10 minutes or so of riding. The shop guy said he heard that from others.

Don’t go by the Ergon online fitting tool exclusively
I bought this MTB seat in March 2025 and now have over 100 miles of single track riding on it and I think I’ve finally found “the one”. I’ve done rides ranging from 8 miles to 26 miles on this saddle now and the best thing about it is what I don’t notice during my ride or at the end of the day: a sore ass. I am pleasantly surprised by having no pain on my butt bones, or numbness in the uhhh… man area. It is important to note that I went to Ergon’s website and used their online sizing tool. I hate dealing with the hassle of online returns and waiting for credit, so after using their online tool, I went to a local store that carries these seats and sat on a few. Ergon’s online recommendation was wrong for me. I ended up going with this model despite a different model being recommended and I am very glad I did that. The only other negative about this seat is the hole in it. I’m not sure why that is there, maybe for drainage if water collects in the channel? But this also causes water and dirt to come up from the rear tire and of course deposits on my bike shorts in a very embarrassing location and appearance. But that can me comical as well. Once I got the seat angle just right after a ride or two, I have been very pleased with the comfort level and ability to drop off the back unhindered on steep descents. I do have a dropper seat post as well. I think that bike seats are grossly overpriced on average. The best seat I’ve ever had cost $40 10 years ago. It finally became too tattered to ride anymore which caused me to start shopping for a new seat. I bought another brand of a popular seat that matches my Yeti bike. That seat was brand new though I bought it from a guy on CraigsList far less than the $150 retail price of that seat. I hated that seat! My butt would be in so much pain on climbs that I could barely stand riding. If you know what brand Yeti puts on many of their bikes with the matching teal color, you can figure out what brand I’m referring to. I would recommend this MTB seat to others but don’t trust Ergon’s online fitting tool. I highly recommend going to a local store to see how they feel under your butt.

Simply great saddle
I pretty blindly put this saddle on my touring bike before a big tour, having heard Ergon saddles were great and having found one that more or less fit my criteria on their website. 10,000+km later and the thing still looks new. It's pretty wild. I bought another one to put on my fun bike recently after fighting with the stock saddle for a while and I don't think I could tell the difference between the two -- they both look like they're straight from the packaging. I find I can ride all day for about a week on this saddle without needing padded shorts. With shorts I can ride more or less indefinitely, but it does get a bit painful after around two weeks. Nothing I couldn't work through, though, and even Brooks' owners will confess that they also deal with pain after many consecutive days of riding. Overall I'm completely satisfied and will probably continue to put these saddles on every bike with a more upright position that I own.

Give your queen the throne she deserves
I run Ergon SM Pro saddles on all my mountain bikes, and Ergon GE1 EVO Factory grips as well. No one ever said Germans were poor engineers - this brand is no exception. My daughter replaced her stock Specialized saddle with this baby and it was a total game-changer. Mama tried it, and had to have one too - replacing stock WTB saddle. Women-specific design and features (deal with it!) - good width, extra gel cushioning and pressure-relief channel all enhance comfort and ride duration. Notably performance didn't suffer for the sake of comfort - still good mobility fore and aft for climbing etc. Contact points are nothing to skimp on - Ergon is a great value for what it delivers. Just remember to measure your sit bones (find out how on YouTube). You don't want to guess, get the size right. You'll be glad you did.

Very comfortable
Feels more like sitting on a chair than a saddle. No groin numbness after riding. I commute with a mtb because my area is extremely hilly. I have my seat nose pointed down and a suspension seat post and it's extremely comfortable (I usually prefer a wider seat). Only negative is my wife can't ride this because of how skinny the seat is. There is a newer model called the smc core which I wish i had a chance to compare. Apparently that one is better for your back/hips but costs ~$40-50 more. I have no back or hip issues, but I found out about it after I already bought this one and tossed the packaging. If i get another seat it will likely be ergon again and try the core. This one is definitely the most comfortable saddle I have ever used. I don't wear the weird looking padded bike pants when ride and carry a backpack 20+ miles some days without pain.

Consider Sizing Up
After trial and error through five saddles I'm glad I landed on this one. I'd agree with most that sizing is the most important factor. I'd tried the stock Bontrager Arvada, WTB Volt and Koda, Ergon SM Pro, and a Specialized Bridge on my full suspension. All of those were medium sized however which may have contributed to my discomfort. I sized up to M/L with this one and it has blew them all out of the water. Makes for a very stable base on my sit bones with no discomfort. It gives plenty of real estate to adjust my seating position as well. Great seat.

Excelente
