I put this in my 2003 Subaru Baja and it sounds and works great. Works as advertised. Yes you can make and receive cell phone calls, listen to satellite radio from your phone and the CD player has great functions. Make sure you order for the car you intend to use it in and you should not have any install problems. The remote control also is a nice to have.

Edit* Nov 2019. Original unit getting replaced with a different model. It died again. Customer service has been stellar. Problems happen. Not all companies stand behind their product but SSL did. Original review...Mine is 4 months old. It now fails to power on without me having to spend 45 minutes disassembling me dash, to find the fuse from the back of the unit...which isn't even blown...pull the fuse and put back in place. Power restored. Not worth this insane headache. Returning if I can.

My rating so far, is somewhere better than GOOD (4-star), but can not give it an EXCELLENT (5-star) without more time. Was a little bit of a hassle to install and match up wiring harness connections, but unless you do this or a living there has to be a few surprises....right? Just from the get go, the sound is more dynamic. Have not had a chance to configure the Equalizer settings. I mean how can you compare a receiver that sells for < $50 bucks? Drawbacks......the iPhone utilizes the BlueTooth connection rather than via direct connect using a USB cable. Has always been my experience that BlueTooth lacks something when playing back audio. The other is having to utilize the remote to set basic settings. Oh well, guess I just have to CRANK IT UP. Happy Motoring!!!!

LOVE IT!!!!! changes different colors or can adjust to just one how ever one wants. I'm that type of person that doesn't like to read the instructions and just do it myself and let me just say it was easy to install and to put as I want. The thing that I love the most is that its very cheap and it has so many abilities, like when my baby is sleeping I can put the sound all to the front that way it wont disturb him all just real simple on the screen. Also like that I can put movies for him like when we have to wait in the car he just sits there entertained. The Bluetooth is very helpful as well I don't have to get my phone out when driving I can get my calls and listen to music and hear my navigation and get all that done by just the stereo. I really recommend this product to many not only for my reasons but for all the other reasons ... also might end up getting one for my sister for Christmas since she really wants mine. lol

This is a GREAT product for the money. We had an old jeep which had a SSL radio, somebody stole the faceplate off of it, i went looking for an exact faceplate and couldn't find one. The SSL folks who i called told me that a new radio was my best bet. I checked the PLUG connectors and they looked like EXACTLY the ones on our old jeep radio. THEY ARE the same. I bought the radio, it arrived and I plugged it in. ALL the speakers work AND i got the bonus upgrade of having a BLUETOOTH connection to the radio for phone calls. WOW, best jeep upgrade money i've EVER spent. THANKS SSL, you guys ROCK for keeping the connections the same, it's MUST less work than having to RE-WIRE an entire jeep dash again. SAVED by the SSL Engineers, thanks guys. A+++++

Sometimes the buttons do the wrong function, like the band change button makes a phone call, the mute button randomly activates. The clock doesn't stay on clock, you have to keep hitting the clock button to see the time. No non-volatile memory, it forgets everything if you lose battery power. Cannot configure colors. The MIC sounds terrible to the other side of the call. The DIN rail mount is week and flimsy. Cam with a dead battery in the remote.

Installed this in my RV to replace a Kenwood with a dead radio. Install was easy and fast. Sounds OK but I have smallish speakers. Bluetooth was easy to set up and works great with my Samsung S8. Did not use the answer and make calls function. The display has flashing lights that do not seem to work with the sound level or content. Even when there is no audio. Turn on the radio and they flash the entire time. So far do not see a way to disable them. Only had it a day so time will tell on longevity. The USB did charge my phone too. Clock displays time when unit is off. Am reception required trying different antenna lengths.
