Hohner Bob Dylan Signature-Series Harmonica

This Harmonica is basically a Marine Band as far as I can tell. Which, is a very nice Harmonica and good value. Lots of pros play them and love them. This is a little more special, has a cool collector appeal to it, and plays, feels, and looks very nice. I paid $59 with free shipping on Amazon and it was a great deal. For $109, well that's what you pay for a limited addition which is a bit pricey but worth it if you like something different and unique. Certainly not outrageous, but at $60 a very good value. The people on here that give it a 1 star, well, I have one thing to say. If you don't like Dylan that much then don't buy the damn thing. Otherwise, shut up and buy something else and let others enjoy what they enjoy.

...And case or no case. A Hohner of this quality for around 20 bucks is a great deal. Anybody who trashes it because it comes wrapped in plastic instead of in a case is missing the point. Mine, at least, sounds great, bends easy, and looks sharp.

This was exactly what I wanted and more! My boyfriend is a huge Bob Dylan fan and has wanted this harmonica for a long time! It might not be the best for sound, but it's more of like... a collectible thing, you know? He wants it for the Bob Dylan fact, not sound quality. But, I personally don't think it sounds bad at all! Super fast shipping too.

I bought this as a display item for my husband, he's a huge Bob Dylan fan. Upon receiving the harmonica, it came in a plastic bag! No display box, nothing. Upon contacting Amazon all they wanted me to do was return it, after receiving it a day late as it was. How do you give a display item gift, without the means to display it? And how do you advertise it with a case, that you know you don't have to send?

I have a few Hohner harps, and this is by far the best looking of the set.The comb is made of wood, but unlike, say, the Marine Band, it's not made from stained pear wood. It's a nice lacquered hardwood comb. Hohner says the comb is made from Doussié African hardwood, FWIW.The brass is shinier than my other Hohners.Having said all that about the aesthetics, it sounds the same to me as a plastic-bodied Hohner.As others have mentioned, these don't come in a case unless you get the C harp. The other keys are apparently split out of a set and come in a plastic baggie, but if you can get one for under $20 or $30, go for it -- you won't find a harp of this quality at that price anywhere else.

A wonderful professional Hohner harmonica, made in Germany with fine craftsmanship and very rich bright sound in key of C.My musician husband was delighted to receive this as a gift, and began playing it immediately.Well made, attractively packaged, and a limited edition series make this a special gift! Recommended!!

This harmonica is really just "meh". It didn't have a display box, its tone quality is way way below that of Special 20's, Lee Oskars, Suzukies, etc. Its just a novelty. I got it on sale, and its fun to have it, but though its not the worst harp you could lay your hands on, its a shame to tout is a the Dylan model and have it just be fluff.

An overpriced Hohner, yes, but I have no problems with that: I like Dylan and bought it because I wanted it.The outrageous cost of international shipping by the seller (not Amazon), on the other hand, is criminal. I should have checked the local music shops where they had the same item for less than what I paid for the item plus shipping.

Se l’occhio vuole la sua parte quest’armonica è veramente un piccolo gioiellino, incluso anche il box in cui viene conservata. Le foto non rendono bene, dal vivo è davvero bella da vedere e maneggiare; curata nei particolari , si nota la qualità superiore dei materiali (reed plate bagnato in oro, cover di acciaio inox, comb in legno ben rifinito), pesa un po piu di un’armonica standard. Per quanto riguarda il suono, l ho trovata molto reattiva, con un bel volume e dal suono pulito; siamo a livelli ottimi, paragonabile ad una marine band deluxe ma con un timbro un po piu chiaro. Nel complesso, il prezzo più alto rispetto a quest’ultima,ad esempio, è per me giustificato dall’estetica e dalla qualità dei materiali. E,ovviamente, dal fatto che è la signature di Bob Dylan se si è,come me, suo fan. Per concludere, è sicuramente un “lusso” ( o uno sfizio,se volete) e ci sono armoniche che suonano allo stesso livello costando decisamente meno, ma per me ne vale assolutamente la pena.Servizio amazon impeccabile e prodotto perfettamente integro e senza problemi di sorta.

I first bought a harmonica 45 years ago at a point where local shops sold them for pocket money, costing 2 shilings at most they was more a noise maker rather than an instrument. Hohner was the only name I knew and after searching online I found numerous makes and using Amazon's great public reviews looked for what I wanted which just happened to be a Bob Dylan endorsed model. So you may pay a little more with having the great man's name on, at least I'll know that I'm buying a great sounding bit of kit and that's exactly what I got, beautiful sound and nicely tuned.The workmanship is as good as you will get for the great price from Amazon and if you decide in the weeks to come that you lose interest in playing, at least you haven't wasted thirty or forty pounds on a nameless piece of metal that you will shove in a draw and forget. At worst you will have something that the great man felt was good enough to put his name on, he doesn't do that lightly and you'll have a great centre piece.

Un Marine Band avec un p'tit je ne sais quoi en plus dans le timbre. De plus il est parfaitement accordé, bravo.Comme tout ce que j'ai pu commander jusqu'à ce jour, il est arrivé avant la date prévue, et sans aucun accroc car bien emballé.Merci.
