Between programming and installation, this took 5 minutes. Just follow instructions and it works perfectly. Tried a cheap knockoff and it did not work with my particular opener.

Great Value and a tool that every garage should be equipped with. Example; If you are invited for a glass of wine at you closest neighbor, this is a perfect tool that gives you the security and ease to simply key in your own personal code to go in and out through your own garage.

I've got two clickers on my visors in my cars but when the batteries die I have no other way in to the garage (especially when I have chains on the other doors). I was very excited to give this a shot when I saw it at a local store (and of course, the price at Amazon is better by about 25%). Installation was a snap. A three digit code, then "program", then your code (up to 8 numbers), then "up/down" and your keypad is programmed. After that you press the button on your Genie to recieve new hardware and put in another code. It took maybe 3 minutes total and that's with fumbling with the huge instruction page. Then you install a screw tightly to hang this on, then screw the bottom screw in to hold it in place. And you are set. I've used it several times and it works well every time. It stays active for about 10 seconds after you enter the code so you can open and close without always entering the code. My one gripe is the way the back is built. It has several flat edges on the back, top that I believe will hold water when it rains. I intend to put a bead of sealant across the back to keep the screws out of the water, but I think a slanted back to allow water to roll off would have been a better design. Overall, I love this purchase. It was easy, works well, and now I have a backup for my kids or for when my clickers dont work.

Replaced an off brand keypad that I bought on Amazon in 2024. This is a name brand Genie product. It was easy to program. There is a QR code in the instructions that direct you to download an app (it doesn't ask for your personal info) that has step by step video instructions on how to program with your existing garage door opener. Got it set up in about 10 minutes. It was a better price than at a big box store. Hopefully it will last more than 2 years.
