Does what a scale should. This one is compact, accurate and easy to use. The digital readout is easy to read. The case is durable, and the thing really will measure 110 lbs. You can use it for weighing static loads like produce, ingredients or luggage, and I also have used it to measure preload, such as for wheel bearings.Pros:* Lightweight, easy to store and deploy* Handle on top is on sliders to permit stowing it close to the case* The case and fittings are very strong; does not feel like it will self-destruct when weighing heavy items* Readout is clear and easily read* Buttons have a good feel and depress easily at the right angle (and are recessed to avoid accidental presses)* Metric and US readouts* Tare function* Sub-ounce precision* Accurate -- tested with 1kg and 10-lb reference weights and it's dead-on.Cons:* The battery issue (see below) -- does seem to use them more than it should, but fairly minorOther thoughts:Seems to eat batteries, something I didn't expect since they're not doing any real work like running an incandescent bulb or the like. I will need to do some checking with other batteries to see if this is indeed the case (or it was a battery issue). One would expect that alkalines would last a long time in this, even with regular use, since they are only there to run the electronics. Not worth docking a star for. It's a great scale.

This scale is one of the approved scales for milk test. I use it to weigh milk. It is a reliable scale and has worked for awhile now and the screen still works. It is a great value for its price. I also use it to weigh small goats.

We occasionally sell things on the internet and needed a scale for weighing packages in order to estimate mailing/shipping costs.We've owned this handy little guy for just over 2 yrs. Here's what I found...Small, easy to store, and is always ready to do the job.Been right on the nats nuts for accuracy.Large digital display is super easy to read (no need to wear my reading glasses, which is a plus).Straight forward, easy to use! Functions are so simple to navigate there's really no need to even read the instructions that came with it.Nice sized buttons for large fingers (my husband appreciates this).We use it as a handheld scale, as we've never needed to weigh anything over 35lbs. BUT I've no doubt in my mind, it could easily have a hole drilled through the sturdy metal handle (it swings both forward/reverse/retracts for storage) so it could be mounted to hang from an overhead beam or other stucture to weigh heavier items - up to 110 lbs.It's perfect for our purpose AND with the added benefit of a built in measuring tape!Ha! just try getting a table top kitchen scale to do that AND AT HALF THE PRICE!Highly Recommended - study, accuate, handy as can be American Weigh Scale.You won't be dissapointed : )

After reviewing several scale choices online we picked the American Weigh Scales H-110 Digital Hanging Scale for its max weight and low cost. When we received it we were pleasantly surprised how well it was made. Read on for our evaluation.-- NOT INTUITIVE TO SETUP: Its not intuitive to setup but if you read the instructions you can set it up how you want and it is intuitive to use. Just hang the item and read the weight.-- NICE STABILIZATION MODE: For our use we set it up to provide a final weight after it stabilizes......this might take 2-3 seconds of letting the item hang on the hook. Once it stabilized the weight value freezes in the display. So if you were holding the scale awkwardly and could see it, this mode allows you to measure then set the item down, turn the scale and read the weight. When the weight is removed the weight remains in the display for about 5 seconds and it resets ready to weigh again without having to press any buttons to reset. This is a nice configuration when have to frequently measure weight.-- RUGGEDLY BUILT: Its ruggedly built and strong. We easily hung 40lbs from the scale with no hint of it stressing any attachment point. The handle, hook and body are made from steel. The handle and the hook are stainless steel. Its no surprise its rated for 110lbs.-- SEVERAL MEASUREMENT MODES OFFERED: There are other modes of measurement, but we only evaluated the stabilized weight mode.-- COMES WITH BATTERIES: The unit does require 2 CR2032 batteries and a nice touch is they are supplied with the scale..-- HAS A TAPE MEASURE: there is a built in tape measure which makes this more versatile to use for fishing.-- NICE HANDLE: We really like the steel handle and it has a very wide mouth making it easy to slide a 1" pole through to hang it while making measurements.-- ACCURATE: We placed a known 10lb weight on it and it measured accurately to within fractions of an ounce.

I weight horse feed daily at the direction of my vet. I weight feed up to 25 pounds and have found this scale to be very valuable and durable. The metal housing is inflexible which makes it fast to scale and be done. The scale requires two 2032 button batteries to operate which I replaced after 2 months of use. This scale was not the cheapest on Amazon and have found it to be of quality materials, which I feel justify the higher cost over cheaper plastic scales. It is light and I can easily carry it in a jean pocket. Very surprised and pleased.
